  1. Hi I just finished my website at wahmshoppes, after much frustration etc. Please let me know what you think. neosoulessentials.com Criticism gladly accepted.
  2. Thanks Sherie - Maybe I"ll start with 1/16 and work my way up - I'm just going to melt and remelt the same 3 oz until I get the bling that I want. seems like 1/8 might be a little much on 2nd thought. I'll let everyone know. I'm sure my little ones and hubby will be "sparkling" the next few days!
  3. I want to make this bar!!! I have mica and my basic lotion bar recipe. The question for you experts is - about how much mica to use for a 3 oz bar. I want the bar to tranfer a sparkle to the skin, but not turn the person into that girl in Goldfinger. I will experiment, but would like a starting point - would 1/8 tsp be too much for a 3 oz bar? Thanks in advance.
  4. I don't require shoppers to register if they shop, but I'm thinking maybe I should. Perhaps that's why PayPal is asking the address again......back to the drawing board!
  5. I don't have a virtual terminal - Paypal handles website payments - I only take check/money order/cash for in-person orders. Maybe when I get a little more profitable (as opposed to negative profit!!) I can to for the virtual terminal.
  6. Hi all I upgraded to the Paypal business account - didn't want to commit to the monthly fee as of yet. I also work with wahmshoppes. My question is, it seems that customers have to put in their address etc. on my site, then go to PayPal and do the same thing again. Is that the case for those who have the business account with no monthly fee, or am I doing something wrong? Everything seems to be working except that glitch - if it is a glitch at all. Also, when your customers get a receipt - is it line by line itemized or just shows up as a payment to you, i.e. 51.24 to Soap makers Plus even though the customer bought 8 bars of soap. I hope I am explaining myself.... Thanks in advance!
  7. I got the last one at KB, and have been frantically searching for more. Can any of you soapers help me? Thanks in advance!!
  8. thanks for the suggestions - I keep it in the basement which is pretty cool. this is good for curing my lotion bars, but bad for my 76 degree coconut oil and the extra virgin coconut oil. I can scoop the 76 degree cuz it's in a jug, but this bottle really threw me for a loop. Maybe I'll get it liquified and transfer it to an 8 gallon jug or pail. Right now, I guess I'll put it in a pot of hot water. What a pain though!!
  9. I ordered some virgin coconut oil from Columbus Foods. I am in NJ, so of course it was solid when it got to me. My question is, I really hate to heat up the whole bottle just to get some out. How did you all get those solid at room temp oils to come out of the bottle? I was surprised that they did not sent it in a wide mouth plastic jar which is what I was expecting. Any tips?
  10. I am strictly small time - I sell lotion bars - and am getting insurance this week. It will cost me about 325-350. I would think - maybe I'm wrong - that the point of the insurance company is to fight the folks who are trying to sue you? Really, it's up to the ins. company to pay out, but at least I don't have to deal with some person who just is looking for money. Ok, just my 2 cents - I am not an insurance expert, so I could be totally off base.
  11. I love the way your products look on your table and that cake looks great! I also love the little colorful afro-puff bags! Congrats on a good turnout - although you may not have sold a lot at least you got your name out there.
  12. Your table looks so good - so full of products!!! I love the bags also - they are so cute!
  13. Thanks ladies for the great advice, as usual. I am busy wrapping and tagging as I type and will let everyone know how my show went. Only five days to go!!
  14. I am so nervous about my first show. I am doing it in conjunction with my Mom's group and am splitting the profits as well as the cost of the table. I sell lotion bars and have made little roses (about .2 oz) for samples. Should I just put the samples out in bowls (separated by scent) for people to take? Or should I package them in tiny zipper bags with my card? I can't beleive how nervous I am--my heart is thumping even as I type this!! Any advice on how to display/give out samples? My bars are packaged in clear bags, so customers will be able to see them, but I want them to smell and feel them also. Sorry for rambling....any advice is appreciated.
  15. I get mine from WSP - they have a sister site - fragranceandflavors.com I don't really go for the sweet - just lip safe fragrance.
  16. LaVida I use lip balm colors from MMS. Just a drop ( or two) will do ya! I also use cocoa powder for the browns.
  17. Ok, I can understand that - not having my website up (yet) I didn't know the ins and outs of merchant accounts!!
  18. I had an interesting expereince with a vendor. I'm not going to blast them on the board, because this may simply be a fluke. However, I placed an order on the website, everything went through fine and got an order confirmation and everything. Later in the day I received an email from the vendor indicating that the vendor received an error message saying that the card number was incorrect. Mind you, the vendor did not indicate how to proceed, so I ask, "how can I correct this?" Of course, the email comes back, fax or email your CC# to me. I did that, (with a protected CC) and then the vendor emails me AGAIN saying that "when I run your card through, I get a message saying 'gateway declined' ref#23023808". Finally I just said forget it. First of all, why would the card go through on the website, then not go through when she "swiped" it. Aren't there mechanisms in place where if you put in an invalid card or something's wrong with the card then the website wouldn't allow you to complete the order? Second, why is the vendor giving me the ref# like it means something to me? The whole interaction seemed unprofessional. I was also irritated because I was buying Virgin Coconut Oil and beeswax. Grr! If I had known that this vendor didn't have it all together, I would have just ordered it from KB!!! Ugh! Sorry this is so long. Had to vent a bit.
  19. Thanks ladies - I was actually looking for the shallow tin, buuuut I suppose I can go with these tins. I was looking for something to put in my lotions bars, so I suppose this is it!
  20. I have never ordered from them, but mystifyyoursenses.com is located in New Jersey. I am going to try them today.
  21. That's exactly what I'll do when I move up a little!
  22. I think that's what I'll do for now, since the sale is so close. I've looked at lots of tins and like the clearview ones (and someone was so kind as to point me towards them on another thread) so that will be the upgrade packaging. thanks ladies for all your help, I truly appreciate it.
