  1. I wonder if any of you do this kind of marketing... if yes, would you mind sharing your ideas and techniques? Thank you so much!
  2. I know this belongs to the classies, but as we are here in a small European circle, so to say: I have so many new samples from Just Scent, Gemlite, Tradewinds, Keystone, BCN, BCS, Soycandle, JBN, KY, .... - would you like to buy these at a very low price? I cannot sell them in the US because - as we all know - this would be too expensive with shipping. So, if you are interested, I'll make a list, okay?
  3. How do you illustrate your scents - or do you do this at all? At the moment I only have a scent list without any pics but I guess it is much more promotionla if you add pics. The question is: where do I get such fotos and/or pics (maybe prim/country)? I did a search but it didn't come up with sth usefull:sad2: Thanks for your help!
  4. IF I had enough mone to settle in Italy I'd definitely spend my time on eating everything the italian kitchen has to offer, take care of my vineyard, my olive trees, my private beach, sitting in the sun...and definitely not searching for round labels:laugh2::laugh2: Poor Sabrina! Guess what: yesterday I tried finding a German source clear labels for the scent names to put on the back of my containers. Result? I ordered in the USA again... It wouldn't even help to establish a suppliers business because all the European candlemakers are here on the board and we are not too many, right?
  5. Dani, that's incredibly kind of you - not too much work? Natty advised me to ask you to ship my wreaths to me (they are still at my forwarders office in Florida!) but I really don't want you to get in trouble because of me. Anyway, it's so nice to have people helping out!
  6. Me too, me too! Or to Umbria! Or to Rome! No, better to Umbria! And visiting Rome every week! But believe me: I love GB just as much as I love Italy (even if the weather and the food isn't as good as in Italy, is it?;) - you've had one of the most fascinating queens in the world, good queen Bess - since my time at university I have a crush on the Tudors:rolleyes2!) and I enjoy almost nothing as much as being in London around xmas. Okay, but back to candles: Just Scent is shipping to Europe (Becky has sent me two parcels before) but only with UPS as far as I know.
  7. I really thought you are kidding but now I've checked myself - not to Italy:shocked2: Why??? If can be of my assistance then please let your stuff be shipped to me - I will gladly forward it to you in Milano. Yes, I know an account is maybe too expensive for you at the moment (although I keep fingers crossed that your business grows!!) - I only wanted to offer you to send the bottles to my US address and you could pay me an affordable part of the shipping if that helps...
  8. Don't you all never ever order bigger bottles than 2 oz??
  9. Sabrina, the $ 9,50 isn't a special rate for th UK, but the normal USPS Global Priority Flat Rate, so it also applies to you. Stacy tries to ship as much as possible with USPS.
  10. I'm using www.myus.com and I am completely happy with them. Of coursee, it's not the cheapest way to ship, but it's express and I don't have to care for all this paper/customs/etc. stuff - they are doing all this for me. They also keep customs very low. If you want to I can offer to send your stuff to my US address so we can combine shipping (which would be cheaper for you of course). I have about 10 - 30 pounds to ship, so if you've got some samples or two or three bottles of fo it should be no problem to throw them into my parcel. It still is more expensive than USPS ground shipping, but you have your stuff in about 2-4 days. Of course you need to pay for shipping from me to you. At the moment I have some parcels waiting to be shipped so if you want to I can wait another week.
  11. Ian, I agree to carebear - you just have to aks the suppliers if and at what rate they ship to Europe. You say you need advice on which suppliers offer good fos - I really don't want to sound harsh, but didn't you read some of the hundreds and hundreds of posts concerning the single suppliers and their quality? And even if we all give you advice you still would have to test the fos because what works in my wax doesn't necessarily work in yours as well. Also, I cannot quite understand why nobody uses a good mail forwarder - they offer good rates and ecellent service (normally I wait two days for my packs - it's express and I always pay 1/3 less than the normal UPS or DHL rate would cost. You also can chose between express shipping or normal air): they collect all your packs, repack them so you always get the best shipping fees. Yes, USPS is quite cheap, but I cannot wait that long (several weeks). Good luck with your search:smiley2:
  12. Nope! I get all my oils from the US, but I use a mal forwarder who collects my parcels and sends them over to me at quite reasonable quotes.
  13. if you pm or mail Natasha (NattyCat) then she will certainly give you a list of fo' available with her. I think her business is about to be set up but she will sell to you now, I'm pretty sure. In don't have much experience with JS because too many of her oils don't throw in my wax. It's always better to test some samplers...
  14. socscents, thank you so much for the pm you've sent me!! Unfortunately, JS doesn't seem to carry this base any longer - what now??? I really need a base that stays clear:cry2: - maybe the one from WSP?
  15. Are there ANY? The only one I love and that is really strong is Lookout Point, but to be fair: I haven't tested many. Can you help me? Thank you!!
  16. Yep,, you can't go wrong with any of Lyschel's oils! But as far as raspberry is concerned: I'm still searching for THE authentic raspberry and so far I haven't found it, nothing smells like a real raspberry, not even Raspberry Cordial from CC:undecided:undecided:undecided
  17. ..äh, Snowdrift,, of course! Anybody using these bases? Are they really good? Anything better on the market? Thanks!
  18. JBN Apple Cider is very good and strong, although the smell of Hot Apple Cider from wicks-wax-scents.com is the best (though it might not be that strong)!
  19. I know that Natasha (NattyCat) sells FO's (she's about establishing a candle supply business!) and she's in the UK - I'm sure she will attend later on.
  20. I really can recommend most of their oils as they work fantastically in soy. Here's what I use and love: Mexican Vanilla (of course) Country Club Baked Apple Pie Buttercream Chocolate Almond Cookie Strawberry Shortcake Apple Cider Apple Strudel Carrot Cake Cinnamon Sticks Cinnamon Buns Citrus & Teakwood Cranberry Balsam Gingerbread Applesauce Gingered Pumpkin Gypsy Rose White Chocolate Chestnut & Brown Sugar
  21. I'm using the Coffee FO (now it's Columbian Coffee I think) from OT and I like it very much - very intense in my soy! ICS's Coffee Bean is what I'm gonna test next (smells very good OOB).
  22. I've taken a look at this already - does it also have a good staying power when you just spray it in the air? And did I get this right: the water - hazelwitch - fo recipe doesn't have much staying ppower, in any case less than a base?
