  1. ROFPMSL you got that one right . Being completely new to soap making i went to soapcalc.com and entered in the figures. That suprisingly was easy enough i went down to "compute recipe" ....Yeah right it did in fact give me a heap of numbers and percentages...lol. quite embarrasing considering im an account but the more i look at them the more confused i become...hehe. Luckily for me im an extremely determined person. So here i go back to soapcalc.com to sizzle my brain some more. Thanx for the recipe though i'm sure i'll figure it out eventually. More then likely it will be when i'm old and grey and the day before i die. But i will figure it out
  2. OMG even i can see your store in my head that sounds (and mentally looks) amazing. I'm thinking black pants with pale pink shirt. Don't know about over there but here our supermarket workers all where black with white shirts. As for your head wear i'm thinking of those cute little (not sure what they are called) sometimes you see the waiters in upscale cafe's wearing them similiar to what the marines etc. wear. I'm thinking one of those, worn tilted to the side with "Pamperme" in pink down the side. Good luck with all your plans. Sounds amazing unfortunately i'll never be able to visit your store but hope to see pics on here closer to the end of next year.
  3. Okay bit the bullet and just ordered everything i need to start soaps. Decided to start with M&P they seem like the easiest to start on. Thinking hubby will eat his words when he wakes up and i tell him how much i spent :undecided But at least it will keep me and the older kids quiet for a day maybe 2 guessing we'll go through all our supplies pretty quick. Thanks for posting your beautiful pics comfortscents. It got me off my backside.
  4. I know the exact dilema's you have had with your name and finding a font that works. My other business name is Taboo Elusions. But it was going to be Taboo Illusions but after fiddling with fonts I found great difficulty in getting the capital " i " to stand out from the l's (does that make sense...duh shaz probably not..lol) anyways i changed the I to an E and only had one L. there fore it opened up endless font possibilities. Not sure if it is a suggestion that works for you but just thought i'd let you know how i got around it. so your label would be Delightful Eluminations. Just food for thought.
  5. I was using oscommerce, then went to oscommerceAUloaded (australian version) i wasn't happy with either of those for my business which i needed to be able to change image sizes etc. Which im sure it does allow but i couldn't figure it out. I now run both my business websites on cubecart and love it. I had the site templates designed for me but their forums are fantastic for support and links to tutorials etc. When i get the aromatherapy business going i'll definately use cubecart again. I just LUUUURRRRVVVEEE it
  6. I am a hopeless designer. I've been looking at everyone's labels and i'm totally envious of the superior professionalism to them. I'm only new to all this and would like to start my own aromatherapy business. It started as a sideline to my other business but have become hooked on it all (mind you i've only made the basics; bath salts, bath bombs, milk baths. Shower gels, bubble baths & lip balms from base). I figure it will be a little while before i get into business fully but am using this time to set up packaging and labeling. In australia im having huge difficulty finding a supplier of waterproof (polypropylene) labels, so that is my first hurdle my second is designing the label. I've made a design that i love but feel it will be to "busy" on a label. Can anyone give any advice as to how they decided on their labels. I love the simplistic, stunning professional look but just can't get my brain to tell my hands and computer mouse what that is..lol Any help would be great. I don't know how to add my images here as my profile says i can't post attachments (yes im a forum newbie too:rolleyes2 ) So i can't show the designs i have already but any help would be fantastic.
  7. Ever since my Rottie was a pup i've sprayed him with Euculyptus oil diluted into a spray bottle of water. Euculyptus is fantastic to kill and prevent fleas. He's 10 in August and never had fleas. Works a treat. Also i do the same with citronella and spray behind our wall unit where my daughters cat decided to make herself a new litter box. Needless to say she uses her real litter box now and the citronella worked wonders. I was nearly going to make up a citronella powder to sprinkle over the carpet like a carpet deodoriser to be vacuumed up later, but the cat didn't play up anymore so never got around to making it. But might be another idea for people who are making pet products. But if people are using citronella etc. near aquariums it's best to cover the tanks.
  8. I'm new to all of this and doing the research while I wait for the postie to bring my supplies. Can anyone tell me what SLSA is? Also i'm in Australia which may not have it so is there a sub for it. I got caught trying to buy cornstarch which i was told later is actually cornflour in australia. But would love to try to make all these things. They look great.
  9. Well gee thanx alot comfortscents, I came onto these forums to have a look and suss out a few things before i decided to get into it all and what do you do go and ruin my plans..lol I've just bugged my husband crazy telling him about your soaps to the point where he is now begging me to order some stuff and start after reading of the addiction i'm guessing this is good so i can always blame him later ( oh and you..hehe). They are truely magnificent soaps though comfortscents and my favourite is the peach flower ball with the mauve roses. And honestly thanks for the inspiration.
  10. OH MY GOODNESS, just the thought of making my first candle makes me nervous, then to see this stunning candle makes me wonder why im putting it off. It most certainly has the WOW factor to it. Love it.
  11. I was having trouble finding a shopping cart for my site, i tried to make my own in dreamweaver that was a nightmare, i tried oscommerce. Then tried OscommerceAU Loaded, still no luck then I found CubeCart which is free as stated above I can and do intend to eventually pay for the license but I love my site to pieces. The biggest problem I had with the others was my image sizes were all out of whack but I don't have that problem with CubeCart. Even my husband converted his site to CubeCart
