  1. Very clever and they resemble gold coins. Hopefully that's what they'll turn into.
  2. Cool I love it. Curious though, about the shingles in middle of the bridge. Maybe for foot traction in all that snow?
  3. Here is a similar thread: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8143&highlight=explode
  4. Some wicks - a case of CBL 141 pillar wax - some apothecary jars - I consider the products to be good quality - the service to be excellent - and the shipping to be reasonable. :smiley2:
  5. Sorry that the sales slumped :undecided. Your booth looks great to me and I like the idea of having the burn pic on the easel (<is that the correct word?). That is clever. You surely do have a lot of nice, lovely products and have put forth quite a bit of hard work to create such a nice display. Hopefully, you will be able to find better results from different shows in the future. :smiley2: Hat's off to you for giving that one a go. Stick with it. Sometimes it can take awhile to hit on the right combination. I am confident that you will.
  6. I think it looks real good. I'm sure that over the coming weeks that you will add this and that to fill it out. I'm proud of you for having done this work and putting so much into it. Surely, your work will pay off during the upcoming months and I know it has to feel good to have already made this months rent etc. :smiley2: HATS OFF TO YOU! and your DH for making a go of it. I take it that DH's position in Charlotte didn't pan out for you all's best interest. Nevertheless, good things seem to be coming from the labor of both of you. Ya Done Good! Stick with it...
  7. Hi - Mom, Deanna P is correct, this is a great board. Welcome.:smiley2:
  8. There are many places to get jars, so generally I seek to find places that are close to me to lessen the costs of shipping. Two of these are Tenn. CNDL Supply and CNDL Science in N.C. Both are more than a 3 hour drive, so I had them shipped. There seem to be quite a few suppliers in and around Texas that may fit your needs. Also I think that Alabaster CNDL supply over in Alabama may have some good jars. Some jars, can sometimes be found locally from walmart, craft stores, dollar stores etc. Here are a few more links for jars. There are many others. http://www.earlyamericancandlesupplies.com/glass.asp http://www.fancycandlejars.com/ http://www.fillmorecontainer.com/ http://www.jarstore.com/default.htm As always, you will have to consider the cost of jar/lids - shipping and how bad you want it :smiley2: in order to decide if it's the right deal for you.
  9. Your candles rock! I love them! I also love that holder!

  11. Light it and take notes. Nice candle, love the color and that's a cool jar, too.
  12. Exactly - but it still could be worded a bit better. :smiley2:
  13. I would say that this statement might be a bit more scary....lol.. "They will burn non-stop for 60 hours." or this one "100% Natural and Good For You and Your Environment!" If it has dye and/or FO in it - how can it be 100% natural - maybe the uncolored one is 100% natural. Maybe they have a 100% natural dye. But this is my favorite. "Using soy candles helps reduce our dependence on crude oil and is 100% biodegradable!"
  14. Maybe your thermometer isn't accurate. Just a thought. Water boils at 212 degrees F. - try checking your thermometer. Checking with boiling water may not be a real accurate way to check but it should give you some idea.
  15. Very nice and I also like the way you packaged them. Very good ribbon choice. :smiley2:
  16. It looks very nice. :smiley2: Does the glass holder keep the palm from melting?
  17. These are the type of lids that I have for my 8 oz square mason jars. They work just fine. I would imagine that the same people that can't take the time to screw the lids properly back on the display candles in the store are the same people that leave their shopping carts sitting in the parking spaces. :smiley2: http://www.candlescience.com/containers/gold-jelly-lid/ P.S. They also have the black ones. I suppose that the jars that you were looking at may have wider mouths than the 8 oz but if this is the *same type* of lid that you saw, they should still work for those who work them.
  18. Partnerships can make for an ok umbrella. They seldom make for a good roof.
  19. I think the status jars look fairly elegant and also have seen some nice looking tumblers. But hey I'm a man so what do I know...lol...maybe some of the ladies can come up with the real classy ones.
  20. My Disclaimer: (First off, I reserve the right to be wrong!...) With that being said, the mason jars and jelly jars and such that are sold as candle jars are also food jars I would think. Also, any jar can break, so "never leave a burning candle unattended" is about the best safety feature that I know of. However, it probably not taken very seriously. If your food jars look to be in good condition I don't see anything wrong with using them for personal use and you could alway set them on something else as an added safety feature such as a plate or a pillar holder. 21. I have not made a square or star candle yet, but the round pillar looks just about right to me. I don't know that I'd wick it down. I think I'd just keep my wick trimmed and centered as best I could and continue the burn on it. :smiley2:
