  1. They look wonderful!! Is ebay taking some of them down, some of the links take you to an item not found page. I know they get upset when anyone uses "type" or any indication that the item is a copy of an original designer brand in their title or description.
  2. This was a fun little experiment using two different beers. These are both unscented, but they smell amazing! I wanted to see how these two different types of beer would react and smell in the end product. They are both hot processed, using a pvc pipe for hot process and you can't even tell its not cp! Very smooth. The extra stout behaved normally, when I added the lye, everything was peaceful, and soaped normally, did not climb out the pot or anything. Smells very much like caramel, very yummy! The Draught however tried to explode out of the lye container (I used an extra deep container of course) no matter how much I cooked it and let it go flat. It also tried to climb out the pot like crazy while I was cooking it. This one smells more of hops or maybe barley, can't quite pinpoint it. I have no solution to the reaction except the nitrogen/CO2 blend that is in Draught versus only CO2 in the extra stout. Loved the little widget that was clinking inside the bottle. The Draught also took longer to cook, almost 45 minutes longer, even though both batches were started at the same time. J says the Draught has more of a manly smells and the Extra Stout seems more for a lady. I have become totally obsessed with beer soaps, and I don't even drink the stuff:laugh2: Guinness Stout: Guinness Draught:
  3. I like Etsy, really got into it fall of last year, although I have had my account since Feb 06. The cool thing about the $.20 that it costs to list is that your item can stay on Etsy for 4 months before it expires. You do have to self promote but that is easily done. I jazz up my store once or twice a month with a new banner and avatar, rotate my features, network with others in the forums, etc. Join some teams (both locally and glogally,) get yourself on ning, flickr, etc and get a blog going. Get a mailing list going where you can offer coupons, discounts, latest items, etc. Success will not happen overnight, but it will happen if its meant to be:)
  4. I must be lucky, I got it to work on 3 repeat batches. The first batch was a bit tricky, I had to peel it out, but the same liner layered right back in. Must have needed seasoning.
  5. If you are looking for Misty Creek type molds at more affordable pricing andmore sizes to choose from check out this site: http://www.freewebs.com/anhoki/moldsbabymolds.htm Anhoki makes some wonderful molds, I have several of them! And I love the size of the bars. I wrap mine with a cigar label. I do not like the added expense of a box. I was just reading a forum post abut boxes, and most of the buyers said they would prefer not to have a box because it just gets thrown away and it is an added expense for them to pay. I will have to find it, it provided great feedback about boxes. I love my slab molds and my log molds. I am just starting to have bars that are the same size, before I was everywhere as far as sizing. I like my bars in my log molds to be big and chunky, and in my slab to be about .5" smaller than the log bars. It really all depends on what you like.
  6. Mmm, love the stonewashed denim (love the smell too.)
  7. Thanks:) Definitely rub with mineral oil before pouring. I have 2 batches done now, they came out easily.
  8. Those look yummy! I use Scent Works Flowerbomb, it really gives you plenty of time to swirl and smells da bomb!
  9. I too had the same problem. The solution was to open all the beer bottles so the beer can go flat. He won't drink flat beer.
  10. It comes in a roll too right? I think I know which one you are talking about...
  11. Thanks! Forgot to add that you should spray pam down or mineral oil before pouring. It works fine for me when I am just using a gelling box, don't know about the oven, I will try it out and let you know.
  12. I don't know about you but I am sick of lining my molds. I ran out of freezer paper and I had a roll of that kitchen cabinet lining stuff and used that to line my mold instead. I made my template, folded my creases, and then carefully peeled away the backing, and laid it into my mold. Took 10 minutes, but at least I won't have to line these babies again for a good while, and I lined 10 molds and only spent $6 on the rolls. I kept one mold unlined to use as my cutting mold (these are the molds Anhoki's dad made for me. They are slotted.)
  13. Thanks! Sorry, the house next door was just taken, but the one directly across the street is free:laugh2: You will have to deal with the nosy lady next door though, but I am sure black curtains will take care of that:laugh2: Yes, the mint pops out so strongly I had to put it away in the workshop, its so strong!
  14. I think it adds to the lather, its nice and creamy. Also great for hair washing, leaves hair shiny.
  15. Or just put a box over the mold upside down, and cover the box with a blanket. You should get full gel. Thanks for the mold tip, I will hunt it down at Michaels!
  16. Made with Barcardi Silver Mojito beer as the liquid, with nettle leaves and a lovely Mojito fragrance. Yum!!!!
  17. I don't know what it is but I do love that mold. Do you mind me asking where you got it?
  18. Jaw dropping sexy! Putting that on my list for my next SS shopping spree!
  19. Thanks:smiley2: I have been in a soaping frenzy, trying to stock up before school starts again.
  20. Thanks! And now that I just went and picked up more oils from OBN, off to my workshop to make more soaps!
