  1. We use a tealight candle and heat the bottom of the pin for about 3-5 seconds, the pin pulls right out and have never had a votive become disfigured form the heat. Just heat the bottom long enough to release it from the votive....it takes practice but once you master it, it's easy. JMHO
  2. Apple Pie from Candlewic is awesome! Although we don't use EZ soy...it is still a best seller for us at Thanksgiving.
  3. Try Candles & Supplies Peach FO. Strong, but very much like a fresh peach.
  4. Still wouldn't use it for our operations. After having poured about 5,000 votives last year alone....I still prefer hand pouring. JMHO
  5. Excuse me....but are we talking about flea markets? or FARMERS markets?? Our local flea market charges $15 for a 10 foot spot, outdoors and at a drive-in theatre, open only on Sundays. The people there haggle you for every nickel and dime they can. On the other hand, a farmer's market is where you would do well, usually indoors, and yes..rent is considerably higher for a space. At least thats the way it is here in north-east PA.
  6. We have seen these before, but would never consider one for our operations. First, we pride ourselves on producing hand-poured products for all our customers, and secondly, while these machines may produce vast quantities at one time, they also take away from the individualized care and look (quality control) that goes into a hand poured candle. Something our customers look for.....IMHO.
  7. May I suggest you check out Wicks Unlimited web site.. http://www.wicksunlimited.com, and check out the tech info they have there. It may just answer your wick questions? Just my
  8. Apple Pie from Candlewic is the sure choice for us, and one of our best sellers in the food category. Smells just like it came out of the oven!
  9. Testing 3 new fragrances as well as completing an order....roughly 130 16 oz containers to go, as well as about 60 or so votives and tarts. Will take longer than the weekend, but we do this all week anyways.....just another day here in NEPA.
  10. That is a good price, however, we still like the service and the fact that we can track who visits our site, peak times they visit, etc. Plus....I stated in my previous post that it was $35 a year for registration, sorry...that was $35 period....so long as I continue my service with I-Power Web. Plus additional domains are only $8.95....I have 3 separate domains, two for both my companies and one for my 3D art site. Just thought I should correct my previous post. Thanks!
  11. We use I-Power Web for our hosting, at $6.95 a month for a 2 year contract, they also register the domain for $35. Not a bad price IMHO.
  12. It also depends on what style of jar you use. In our 16 oz, jar, we measure 16.04 oz. of wax, plus 1.44 oz by weight of FO, and it still only comes up to the neck of the jar when we fill it.
  13. Has any of you in PA recieved a letter from Harrisburg about the USE tax? We here at Creekside are a legally registered company and pay our collectible sales tax faithfully. However we recieved a letter recently regarding the USE portion of our "Sales and Use tax" license. Apparently (and I am calling the Harrisburg office Monay morning to find more about it), but it sounds like if you purchase tangible items from out of state, like items you purchase from mail order catalogues and such and don't pay sales tax, PA still wants their 6%. Anyone had this happen to them? And, what did you do about it? Btw....they're going back 3 years and want invoices.....because we've only been in business those 3 years.....however...they will go back as far as 1981.
  14. Prairieannie....According to the paypal cart...the options Paypal uses does NOT mean 10 different options such as fragrance, size, color etc....it means if you are listing your fragrances, it will only allow you to list 10 fragrances. Cybersix..... The only way you can add more fragrances under the one option menu is to add it yourself using HTML code. We use it ourselves and we can add as many as we need provided we add it manually. It will work!
  15. We own four parakeets which are in our family room...we burn our candles throughout the house, and have not had any problems at all.
  16. We've had great success with Patchouli from NG. It was a great seller for us last fall.
  17. Well I would think it best to have a selection available for the customers to see before making your web site "live" IMHO, not many sales will be generated if the customer doesn't know what's out there.
  18. As someone who has designed sites for others, as well as our own 2 company sites, I suggest you have the pages ready to go and all prepared before making them "live". For anyone interested....Front Page is an excellent user friendly program for designing your own site. From there you just upload it to your host. We're currently using IPowerWeb for $6.95 hosting fee. Chauna: When will we get to see what fragrances you have to offer?
  19. Thanks ladies for pointing out another great fragrance supplier..!!! lol I will be checking into them as they are in PA, as we are and shipping will be cheaper for me. Honestly....sincere thanks. BTW...any reviews on these fragrances being used in soy would be a definate help.
  20. Bags made by "Make & Mold" hhtp://www.makenmold.com are polyPROpylene....I called the company myself and asked. Just letting others know in case someone wants to know. We buy ours at the local craft store because they are actually priced less than the company web site.
  21. Winzip is not a program perse...but a method by which you can "crunch" files together into 1 file so that you may send it to someone via e-mail, at a much smaller file size than the original files. The technical term being to compress files into smaller ones. You should be able to "unzip" or extract the files by simply clicking on the file itself and it will ask you where you want to extract the files. Just remember where you extracted the files...I suggest you create a folder and extract them into it....otherwise you could have those files spread out in your C drive and not be able to recover them. PM me if you still need help.
  22. Just thought I would bring to your attention about another post....just above this one actually........the same burners priced at .65, while it is true there is a $350 minimum order from Sonec... http://www.scentsofnature.com that is quite a savings to say the least. I will say though that Alabaster is a great company to deal with.....just pointing out some options. IMHO
  23. Stainless steel measuring cups from Wally' mart....97 cents for 3....they hold 2.88 ounces...enough for 2 candles @ a 9% FO load of 1.44 by wieght each.
  24. Well I have to respond here....first...Candlewic is in PA...where I live. Peaks is in Denver. I also use Peaks SOMETIMES....and it takes 2 weeks to get my order from them. Candlewic usually ships to me within 5 days. So it does depend on where you live. I have to accept the fact that shipping from Denver does take longer. We have a rep in Colorado as well, and using UPS to ship to her takes just as long. Learn to accept it.....it's the way it is.
