  1. Hello, does anyone know where I can get those tall cylinder prayer candle jars that are really cheap? Thanks.
  2. My customers love this scent but it is the only thing I have to order from BC plus it is expensive. Does anyone know of a replacement? For example does anyone know off-hand how Peaks Lemongrass & Sage compares? Is it similar? Thanks.
  3. I've tried every one you named with the exception of the Dewdrop. Those are all good throwers.
  4. Hmmm, I haven't tried this wax in a while but I don't remember having that problem with it. It must be the new lots.
  5. I love all of Candle Cocoons oils and out of the waxes you named I have tried them in the GW444 and GW464 and most give an awesome throw in both. I've tried her oils in quite a few waxes and I've tried most on her site and almost all are amazing. If you name some of the ones you received I can give you better info.
  6. I saw your tarts, very nice. How does it work with the votives though? I saw no pics for that.
  7. Sheri, have you tried this with votives? If so, how does it work? If it worked well it would be such a life saver!
  8. It would save you a lot of stress if you just heat gunned them after they set up. Then you will have perfect tops.
  9. The shipping at Yes Supply is reasonable as they charge actual shipping charges. I guess it depends on where you are in relation to them.
  10. Okay, I got my 3" tubing (2 rolls of 500 feet each) and my impulse sealer and have already decided I'm not going this route. This is great for those who are doing a few tarts at a time, but trying to do 500 tarts is a PITB. I should have ordered a small amount as samples first. :rolleyes2 I'm going to put both of these up in the classies and look into the machine Sheri mentioned. Too cool!
  11. Thanks, everyone for your input. I'll check this out.
  12. What size and type of shrink wrap do you use to shrink wrap an individual 1 oz tart? I have tried using the votive sleeves from allwhitecandles.com but it does not cover the sides of the tarts. I was looking at the ones from canwax and would like to know if anyone has tried those? What do you all use? Bags, tubing, just film? Thanks! I want something that will cover the entire tart.
  13. It actually worked very well when I offered it. Probably because I allowed them to choose their own scents for each month in advance and then automatically billed their credit card each month. For example, when they placed their order they would tell me the scent they wanted for each month for the entire year and it worked out very well for me.
  14. Thanks! I've never heard of that but I will definitely give it a try!
  15. I've delved into the world of pillar candles and I've run into a small problem. For my metal molds I am currently using that sticky putty type sealer to seal my molds. The bottom of my molds are actually the top of my candles and I don't like the way some of the putty is left on the wick. Yes, it is a minute amount, but I'd prefer that none is left at all. I was curious to know what you all use to seal your molds and what would you recommend knowing that the bottom of the mold is the top of the candle. Thanks!
  16. Isn't the golden brands supposed to be food grade? If they are selling this as food grade isn't it unsanitary to have debris in the wax for those in the food industry, or do they package it differently?
  17. Thanks for the feedback. I have have ordered several samples of the ecosoya blends to test.
  18. Could you please tell me if this wax is resistant to wet spots? If so, which of the blends of EcoSoya are you using? Thanks.
  19. I've only used three different soy waxes in all the years I've used soy. They were EL 100%, 444 and EL Millenium blend. All three of these produced wet spots. I was even willing to try a blend that was not 100% soy. I'll have to give the EcoSoya blends a try and see how well they resist the wet spots. I will post a thread in the Natural Wax section to see if any of the users of that wax had the same results as you. Thank you all for your feedback.
  20. I'm a soy candle maker so I've pretty much accepted the wet spots as a part of life. But, is there any type of wax out there that is totally resistant to producing wet spots or is this wishful thinking?
  21. FYI: I ended up using the Hibiscus from CMS and it is comparable. Very good hot and cold throw in my soy. P.S. Let's post any replacements we find for FOH oils to help eachother out!
  22. No, I haven't tried it, but I will go order a sample now. Thank you for the suggestion.
  23. Thank you very much for the offer. That is very kind of you Unfortunately I need to purchase a full pound of the fragrance in order to complete the orders that I have for it. I was hoping that I could find a replacement supplier for this oil since it seems like FOH will be scaling down on their stock and I need a reliable supplier who can supply oils on demand. Have you tried any other Hibiscus oils that you find to be comparable? If I can not find a supplier to get a full pound I will definitely take the 4 ounces off your hands and offer my customers the option to choose something else.
