  1. I don't know about wholesale, but if you live close to a Dollar Tree, you can get them for around $1 each with candy in them. I have 5 back around Christmas I got to do some testing in, but have since changed my mind. If you want them you're welcome to have them just pay shipping. Have a great day Jennifer
  2. I'm am looking for some country prim crock pot style Jar warmers. Does anyone know of a company that wholesales these? TIA Jennifer
  3. Vic and her family are the best, I consider myself very fortunate. I live close enough to go pick up my wax when I need it, and always get to visit for a few minutes with her. Her and her husband Joe, are wonderful people. Oh yeah, and their c/s is da bomb too! Jennifer
  4. Thank you so much, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but I did e-mail them with the specifics. They are going to try to find something for me. Now, if they're just not $5 each. I don't think I can raise my candles that much to justify adding a bear on them.LOL
  5. Anybody know where I can find these or have them made at a reasonable price. They don't have to specifically be candle charms, they can be any type of charm as long as they are black bears, can be attached to a jar candle via, raffia, string, etc. and are no bigger than a quarter. I have looked on several jewelry sites and have found various bear charms, but no black ones. I am doing a festival in May and it's titled Black Bear Festival. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA Jennifer
  6. Now that would be cool, I'd be interested in knowing who does it too.
  7. www.obiimports.com I am currently gauging interest in a co-op if anyone is interested. Jennifer
  8. The crocks are what I was looking at mostly, that's absolutely the best price I've seen on them. Thanks for your replies, I think I'll order some.
  9. I know there have been a couple of co-ops on here with obi, specifically the wick trimmers and candle warmers. And I also remember that Raggedy Dani had a terrible time dealing with OBI over some broken merchandise. But outside of that, is there merchandise good quality? I was looking into ordering a few things from them and wondered if their products hold up well, provided, they are received in one piece.LOL TIA Jennifer
  10. I too am waiting for them to restock, I have a few people who are wanting the plug~in's. And of course the colors that are most requested are the ones they are out of.LOL
  11. I'm trying to decide what to keep and what to get rid of. Sales have been good, but mostly for my container candles and some lotions. My tarts haven't done very well and neither have tart warmers. People just don't have the disposable income they had a year or so ago. When store brand milk is almost $4.00 per gallon, I'm sure it's more in other places, that just doesn't leave much for non-necessities.
  12. I've been putting off raising my prices. But, it's something I'm going to have to do. With supplies, as well as shipping on supplies going up, the only way I'm going to be making any money is to raise prices. I'm glad your customers took it so well, hopefully mine will too. If everything, except for wages, keeps going up, small time chandlers like me aren't going to be able to stay in business. People are going to have to decide between necessity and extras, and since candles are not necessity, I fear sales will dip too low to continue.
  13. Will do, I talked to my aunt today, and she is so excited. I told her when I got it, I would let her smell and see how close it is to the real thing. I may now be her favorite niece, like I wasn't already.LOL
  14. Customer's say mine smells just like VS Lovespell. I couldn't honestly say, since I've never smelled VS. I guess I'm the only one in the universe who hasn't. But, I get mine from KY. HTH Jennifer
  15. carol K~you are a wonderful, wonderful woman. I don't mind paying a little more than usual for this one, it's for my great-aunt and she is well worth it. She is probably responsible for about 50% of my off-season sales, she sells like a mad woman for me. I always try to give her something for helping me so much, not that she expects it, but as I stated previously, I would really love to be able to give her something she is crazy about. Thank you a thousand times, now off to order. Jennifer
  16. Seems like I'm not the only one, I really don't like the florals either. And anything that smells like perfume, I've always been really sensitive to perfume, it goes straight to my head. So basically, the only scents that I really like are the foody ones, go figure!LOL
  17. I played around with family names at first, but I just couldn't find anything that fit. I really didn't like the sound of my first name for a business name, and I tried a few different combo's using my children's names and initials, but most either didn't sound right or similar names were already being used by other businesses. So I got to thinking about where I live. I didn't want to name it after my town in case we ever moved, so I decided on Hometown Candles & Gifts, LLC. It has kinda a small town feel, and since I'm a small town kinda gal, it just felt right to me. And by adding the gifts, it allows me to expand in most any direction. DH wasn't crazy about the name, he thought it was kinda corny, but hey, it's my business right? LOL
  18. I think your post may have been the one I saw. It was a couple of years back, but nobody had responded that they had found any. Hopefully someone can help us out.
  19. I found that this had been posted a couple of years ago with no results. Just thought I would post again to see if anybody had since found a Sand & Sable dupe anywhere. My aunt absolutely loves their body powder, but she can only find it at Christmas. She does so much to help me out with selling my stuff, I'd love to be able to make her some whenever she wanted it. TIA Jennifer
  20. I'm not sure how it would work for an air freshener, but I'd be careful about placing it somewhere that it might get turned over, like under your seat. If the candle gets warm enough, it could start to melt a little on top. If it got turned over it could ruin the carpet in your car. Instead you might want to consider sitting it in a cup holder to test it out. I imagine it would work ok for a little while, but would need some heat to work consistently. I know if I let a candle sit with the top off too long, the scent dissipates, but if I light it and let it burn for a little while then the scent seems to return. HTH Seems we were thinking the same thing.
  21. mom~yes, I do my own brochures, but just started recently. I had been doing just a simple one page price sheet with a few pieces of clipart, but then dh bought me a laser printer for my b-day this year and I went wild. I just love the way it prints so crisp and clear and the graphics are awsome. I will never go back to an inkjet, by choice anyway. I now do a tri-fold brochure printed front and back. It looks so much more professional, and besides that, it's really fun to do.
  22. Oh, I agree too. I think when you give with an open heart and no thoughts of profit from it, that's when you receive the most in return. Back around Thanksgiving weekend, I donated some gift bags and items for an auction to raise money to buy Christmas gifts for kids who otherwise wouldn't have gotten anything. I had no thoughts of profit from it. When I worked at our local K-Mart, which is now gone, we use to do something similar every year. It was so much fun, there was no way I was going to turn the lady down when she ask for donations. Hadn't thought alot about it, then one day this week a girl from a local nursing home called me saying that someone there had purchased the b&b gift bag and several of the girls there wanted some. I'm sending them some samples and brochures. I just love giving to others. If I were a millionaire, I probably wouldn't be for long. LOL
  23. I really couldn't find much to be upset about over somebody taking pics of my stuff, but I only do container candles, tarts, and bath & body stuff. I don't have any big top secret hand made items (no sarcasm intended). Besides, about the only info they could gain from pics if they were looking to copy me is my container styles. They certainly can't figure out what type of wax I use or what suppliers I use. So I say let them snap away and in the event it ends up in a news article, I'd do what others have said, clip it, frame it, and hang it for the world to see.
