  1. Does anyone know where the best/cheapest place is to purchase these in bulk? I need several of them for a project for my daughter's 4th grade class. TIA Jennifer
  2. Ok, so I know I'm probably one of the last people on earth to get a Cricut but, I finally got one for Christmas this year! So what are some of your must haves, tips and tricks? I'm psyched to get started creating my little heart out J
  3. Thank you both for your input. I will definitely check out C/S and Peak's
  4. I apologize if this question has already been addressed, I have searched the forums and the archives but haven't found an answer for my specific question. I have a friend who is wanting a lavender candle for her bedroom to help create a calming effect. Would a FO alone do it or would I need an EO/FO blend? If so, what proportions would I use? Mind you, I'm not going to sell these, just making a good friend one, who is neither pregnant or breast feeding. I know those things might be of concern to the more seasoned chandlers on here TIA Jennifer
  5. Thanks guys, I'll have to check those places out, I have a day off tomorrow
  6. This year, I am going to attempt to make Coco's Whipped Piggy scrub, for Christmas presents. I normally stick to the candle side of things, so I know very little about B&B suppliers. Who are a few good ones? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA Jennifer
  7. Thank You TexasBrat! I'll give it a try, my dd is getting into the girlie stuff.
  8. Someone bought my daughter some glitter spray for her hair at Christmas. She's about out, so I thought I might try to make some for her. Would a body spray base with cosmetic glitter work? if so, what type of sprayer would I need to use in order for it not to get clogged up? TIA Jennifer
  9. Sold pending payment Yah!

  10. Thanks for the heads up, I haven't ordered from them since Alabaster started carrying the square mason's. Shipping is cheaper, or was until they quit shipping from Louisville, KY. Guess I'll just keep ordering from Alabaster instead of going back to Aztec.
  11. You might check with Aztec at www.buywax.com. I got some from them once before and the Mason was written in script. HTH Jennifer
  12. My dad has COPD and cannot stand to be around a burning candle. He ask his Dr about soy being better than other types of wax, and the Dr said there's no medical basis for this claim. Even if you use soy wax, there is still the issue of the wax, f/o, and dye being burned off and getting into the air. My dad can stand a few of the milder scents in tarts and wickless though. IMO this is a decision the customer is going to have to make, they should have enough common sense not to use something that is going to make them or a loved one ill. That would be like me knowing I was allergic to something, but allowing my husband to feed it to me anyway. We have to take responsibility for ourselves and not put that burden on others.
  13. I agree with Meridith, I have quite a few scents using this jar with KYSOY 125 and most do well with a cotton 60 or 62. But you still need to test, you wouldn't want to miss out on repeat business because of a poor performing candle that was made in haste.
  14. Just a southern girl at heart. LOL I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it. I've been selling for three years now and this is the first "big" thing to happen to me. I meet with her today about the fundraiser, and she is suppose to have an order ready one day early next week. I didn't sleep a wink last night I was so wound up, I wanted so badly to be up making candles, but I didn't dare for fear it would wake my two little monkey's. That's not what I need my 3 & 5 yo up at 2 am. Have a great day all Jennifer:)
  15. Must be a southern thing, my Nephew lives in Northern KY and they call it dinner. To me dinner is, like you said, something you cook on sunday about 1ish.
  16. 1. I love candle making 2. Also, hate the paperwork 3. Love talking to people at craft shows 4. Found out that there are some real nutz out there 5. If I had 1001 scents, somebody would want something I didn't have in a 26 ounce candle my tomorrow.
  17. Oops! should say, Just picked UP a new account.LOL I am so excited, I just got a phone call from a local florist who wants to put my candles in her shop. We have been talking back and forth for a few months, we finally got together a couple of weeks ago and I made my presentation. She called today to say how much she enjoyed the samples I had given her, and that she was working on putting together an order. Plus she wants to do a fundraiser for her church. How much better can today get. :yay: Well I'm off to make supper(dinner to those of you who don't know what supper is). It's supper in SE KY, dinner most everywhere else. Have a great day all Jennifer:)
  18. I'll second L/S, it smells very realistic. You can smell both the caramel and the apple.
  19. Thanks I thought it was cute, kinda catchy too. Like I said, I don't know why I didn't think of it to start with, I've been called Grace practically my whole life. It should've been my real name.LOL
  20. I too like CS very vanilla, it's one of the best I've tried.
  21. Ok, when I first started making bath and body, I really didn't search very well to see if the name I choose already was out there. I have known for some time that there is a well established business with the same name as me, just spelled a little differently. I have been contemplating changing it, but couldn't think of anything catchy that I liked that wasn't already being used in some form, or I would have changed it before now. Most people identify my bath and body with my candle line, not so much by the name, so I don't think this would cause any customer confusion. Is it a wise or stupid decision to change after approx 2 1/2 years. I've done a thorough search and can't find anyone using my newly chosen name anywhere on the web, and I've also done a search on my Sec of State site for name availability. Someone is currently using the name I have chosen for a website, but it has nothing to do with bath and body or candles. I am currently calling my bath and body line The Body Shoppe, but would like to change to Graceful Girl Bath & Body. My family nick name is Grace, because I have no balance, coordination, or grace. It's kind of a running joke on me, but I don't mind, it's all in good fun. I don't know why I didn't think to use it sooner. I think it's kinda catchy, what do you all think? And do you know of anybody already using it? TIA Jennifer
  22. Anyone ever had to take someone? I don't want to go into detail right now, I'm sure it wouldn't be to my advantage to do so if I do have to go to court. Basically I'm wondering if you actually collected and if the process was worth it? I imagine it would be worth it, if you actually collected, I'm going to go for reimbursement of all my expenses too, I'm just wondering if the system works. TIA Jennifer
