  1. Top, don't know if these would work for you, but they're worth looking at: http://www.purrfection.com/stamps/tools.htm (2nd and 3rd items down--Needle Nose Applicator Bottle and 1 oz. Micro Tip Applicator Bottle, respectively). I have no idea what type of plastic they are made of, but they say the Needle Nose Bottle can be used for fabric dyes and paints. They look like the squeeze top screws on (like the Yorker caps), as opposed to just popping on which is where you could potentially get the dreaded blow out! HTH
  2. Lait Sucré! (Comptoir Sud Pacifique type) (The Scent Works) (which, BTW, they're having a 20% OFF Vacation Discount July 15-30--orders won't be processed until July 31) And, of course, anything Patchouli!
  3. In an earlier thread it was mentioned that Lebermuth carries a Fart FO. The down side is they have a $150 minimum order and I can't imagine anyone would want $150 of Fart FO! The up side is they have some nice FOs in their Specials at 2 lbs/$8.00. Or maybe you could call and they'd send you sample? I've never tested their oils in wax--I'm still trying to conquer my catalytic lamps and have had excellent results with their oils in that respect. HTH
  4. OK, I really need an honest opinion on this one. Got a sample through the classies and I absolutely loved it oob. When I asked my DD to sniff it she literally started gagging and said it smelled like rotten eggs! Now I know everyone's sniffers and preferences are different, but is my sniffer THAT far out of whack? :undecided
  5. Are you Serious???!!! Who in the world carries THAT??? Inquiring Hoosier minds just gotta know! (wonder if it would it be possible to do an overdip to mask the true "fragrance" until lit?--I'm thinking of anonymous "gifts" for a few of my "favorite" people--my ex, my ex MIL, my ex SIL...... )
  6. Yup, that's typical Hoosier mentality! (now don't anyone go gettin' bent outa shape--I'm a Hoosier myself, and Polish one no less! )
  7. :laugh2: :laugh2: Thanks Top! I knew you'd come through for me!
  8. Hey Top! I'm new here, but that is EXACTLY the kind of effect I was looking for! What % of uranium would you recommed using? And how does it affect the throw? TIA Jean ..... JK!
  9. Love it!!! Why not leave the beads in one "hard" mass and use that as a selling point?
  10. The Candlemaker's Store has the 1/2 oz size and a nice selection of colors. Here's the link: http://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/category/candlecolorsdye.candle_colors_brand_dyes/
  11. Just a thought here...(please don't jump all over me, I'm just a poor little noob and am still studying dilligently--haven't even poured a tart yet!) If someone wanted to get in on this lastest trend, why wouldn't a soy tart work? No flames, maybe no lawsuit? I don't know how hot wax gets in a tart burner yet, but I would think a low mp wax and a low watt burner might work. Just a thought....
  12. I just tested Peak's Cornucopia in my catalytic lamp and it is to die for! Their Fireside is also excellent. Love them both oob and in my lamps, but can't tell you how they perform in wax. Maybe some of the experienced members can help out here. HTH!
  13. You might want to look into the Berger/catalytic lamps. They are said to kill odors and germs through the catalytic process and were originally invented for use in hospitals and morgues about 100 years ago. I also read somewhere that they are getting popular in doctors' offices because of their ability to not only fragrance the air, but to also kill germs. I've been experimenting with these for several months now. They can be real boogers, but when you get them to work they are absolutely fantastic! PM me and I'll tell ya all I done learnt so far! Jean
  14. Oh, the stories I could tell..... She's right when she says she doesn't have the best memory in the world--I'M the one who's a sweet angel! :laugh2: (word to the wise--don't believe either one of us--we're both full of it!)
  15. Yup GLo, that twas us! It means a lot that you noticed and remembered. I’m quite the wall flower and not very self-confident—I’m happy blending into the background. Don’t get me wrong—I love people, but get rather apprehensive in a large group. Now my daughter, on the other hand, is a real people person! (I’m convinced they switched her at birth!) She loves being around people and just thrives on it. I swear, she’d just wither away to nothing if she had to become a cloistered nun!!! In fact, all you ladies and gentlemen at the conference impressed her so much that she’s become an official member of this board! She’s SweetBean and you’ll most likely find her in the B&B and Fragrance sections. She’s quite the B&B addict—if only you could see her bathroom and bedroom! Friends have told her it looks like she has her own personal store!!! We both can’t wait till next year’s conference! I promise I won’t be late this time!!! Jean
  16. Corence and Debbie.....this was my first conference, too. I was so apprehensive that I even had second thoughts about going and ended up arriving quite late. :embarasse Now I can kick myself for doing that!!! I learned a lot, bought a lot, and felt like it was Christmas with the goodie bags and door prizes! Everyone was so warm and helpful. My fears were immediately allayed! My daughter had a fantastic time. She’s such a people person. I don’t do B&B but, after this conference, she’s hooked! You better bet I won’t be late next year!!!
  17. I may be wrong, but I detect a strong note of sadness in your post, which is very understandable. My dad went through some serious depression after his heart attack and subsequent surgery. I’ve also watched several family members and friends do the same. Don’t loose touch with everyone here. I may be new, but what has impressed me most about this board is its strong sense of community and support. You will be in my prayers and I’m sure a lot of others, too. It will get better and never forget there are a lot of people who will always be here for you. Hang tough!
  18. This place looks really great, Sheila. And the best thing is…they’re only about an hour away from me! Now all I gotta do is find my tax id #. I know I put it somewhere safe, I just gotta remember where that was!!!
  19. Hey Top! Just wondering if you sent them an invoice for the cost of YOUR box. I’m sure you went through great lengths and paid top dollar for a box with the word “fertilizer” marked on it! Seriously, though, I’m sorry to hear that this has been such a PIA experience for you. But, I’m sure there are many people who appreciate the “heads up” on this company, myself included.
  20. Yes, I know I’m a newbie here, but I just had to get my 2 cents worth in. I think it also helps to present another point of view—that of someone just starting out and wanting to test different supplier’s products, CS, etc. before making a big $ investment. I have never ordered from C&S and, now, seriously doubt I ever will. Getting started on a very short shoe string is difficult. I do not need to pay high shipping charges for a “test” order NOR do I want to buy huge amounts of product yet. So, the way I look at it, they have lost a potential new customer. There’s a lot of us out there just getting started that may someday be able to grow into big clients. I may not have a business degree, but I have at least a tiny little bit of business sense to realize that the way to “grow” a business and keep it going is by a steady influx of new customers. I went to their web site to see what all this uproar was about and to make sure I fully understood the situation before posting. I try to be very careful and read the “fine print” before ordering from a new company. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but no where on their site did I see any mention of their new shipping minimum. I thought maybe I had the wrong site, so I went ahead and tried placing a small “test” order to see what happened at their checkout. Lo and behold, only AFTER I’d gone through the whole process did the shipping info come up. Personally, I think that’s rather cr@ppy. As a newbie, I agonize over what FOs to sample and put a lot of time into making desicions (just sorta anal retentive that way—not good at making snap decisions!). Can’t help but wonder if that setup isn’t done “accidentally on purpose”. I mean, at that point, I might be inclined to say “Oh, what the he!!” and just submit my order since I had already put my time and effort into in. BTW, I also didn’t like the fine print saying: “In-store credit will be issued (not cash or credit card refunds) for all returns unless you were shipped something in our error.” Maybe this is common practice, I don’t know. But, regardless, I don’t like being coerced into shopping somewhere that I may not be happy with at that point. So, thank you all for the head’s up! One last point regarding the email that Laura received from them (“…It really makes more business sense for candle makers to place larger orders at a time and save on shipping costs. … it is actually a good way for candle makers to get organized and make more money instead of making the UPS guys rich. … Postage paid on supplies directly affects the bottom line and no matter the size of your business, it's always best to order more at a time and combine shipping. …”)—true, but why do they think its THEIR business to decide for me how I should run MY business? Oh, and BTW, hello all. I’m really glad I discovered this board! Sorry about being so garrulous. I’ll shut up now…
  21. I know this isn’t much help for the long term and it may not be what you’re looking for, but the JoAnn Fabrics by me had all their spring colored hot plate-type warmers marked down to $2.00. But, don’t bother looking at the Richmond, IN store—I bought all they had left!
  22. Not a winning proposition for me—I think I’d have to pay THEM for any “favors”! I’ll be there, too. I’m such a newbie that I’ll probably be the one hiding in the corner! I’m bringing my daughter and SIL with me, but I’m gonna be nice and let my wonderful SIL spend the day at the Football Hall of Fame! I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone! Jean
  23. Wow, you mean I got one up on someone who’s been around for a while?! There may be help for this newbie yet!
  24. Here's a few more that I didn't see listed: GL--Gemlite http://gemlite.ipmiplc.com MC--MillCreek http://www.mcsoywax.com SOS--SaveOnScents http://www.saveonscents.com I've only ordered from Gemlite so far--was happy with their CS and their FOs; bought some MC FOs thru the classys and was very impressed; I read somewhere that SOS does really good with their dupes--but, then, I'm a newbie, so take all this for what it's worth....
  25. Although I’m a newbie and have never ordered from RE, I’ve got to sing their praises already! Just placed my order a little over four hours ago and already have a UPS confirmation and anticipated delivery date of 5/15! My order wasn’t as big as some of yours , but I did order 37! I can’t believe how quick they are! If their FOs are even half as good as their service, I’m gonna be in FO heaven!
