1. Indiana Candle Supplies http://www.candlesupplys.us/ Right now Cinnamon Buns is #1 on their Best Sellers list.
2. I LOVE this stuff! My DD has a gallon of it that she hasn't scented yet and every time I go to her house, I sneak some home with me! It's very moisturizing and thick. A little goes a long way and that's good because it'll be months before she discovers my thievery!
3. Those are sooooo cute! I just love the whipped wax effect! They're just the perfect touch for a country Christmas look!
4. Thanks, darci, for posting pics! Those are too cute! I really love the whipped wax effect! So, basically, you just used a fork and "spooned" the whipped wax into the cookie cutters? I've gotta try these!
5. You and my daughter would get along great!
6. I'm the proverbial "aging hippie" and I love, love, love patchouli! However....My daughter, who's 21, HATES it! It literally makes her gag! I've tried the sniff test on her with several different suppliers versions of patch--every last one of them got the same response... ! I am no longer even allowed to bring a bottle of it into her house! So, with that being said, I have to agree with the others...generational preferences make a big difference! Also, Sara is right...there is NO substitute for the real thing, although I'm pretty darn pleased with the Peak FO version.
7. Those are beautiful! Very vintage/Victorian looking! Those and some popcorn/cranberry garland and a few strands of the (fake) candle lights (wouldn't want to use the real thing ) would make for a beautiful Christmas display!
8. I wanna see a pic! That sounds soooooo cute!
9. KY (http://www.kycandlewaxsupply.com/bathandbody.htm) carries the SFIC bases. I wouldn't think shipping from KY to PA would be too bad. Unfortunately, they don't carry citric acid.
10. HobbyLobby carries large glass upright canisters with lids. Off the top of my head, I can’t remember how much they are but I know they’re not very expensive. And about every other week they have all their glassware on sale for half price. HTH!
11. Maybe try coffee grounds? Like try making a mixture of coffee grounds, baking soda, and cat litter and seal them up in a bag with your mix for a week or so. I dunno, I guess it's just the mad scientist in me coming out!
12. OK, I’m quite the noob, too (but I've been an avid lurker and reader for 6 months now! and I slept at a Holiday Inn last night! ), but, someone please correct me if I’m wrong…Isn’t microcrystalline wax added to raise the MP of your wax? And the release of fragrance comes from the melt pool, right? So, if you raise the MP of your tart wax, it's possible your tart melter might not reach a high enough temp to fully melt your tart, depending on the type you use, and, therefore, your hot throw would be diminished. Is my reasoning correct? Hopefully, someone with more experience and knowledge will jump in here.
13. Check the co-ops. Angel2006 is running a co-op right now for 6' electric cords and silicon bulbs from Darice. HTH!
14. I'm no expert by far--B&B is my daughter's department. But, she gave me some MillCreek's soy hand & body lotion base (http://www.mcsoywax.com/Bath%20&%20Body.htm) to try and it is absolutely wonderful! There's been several threads here discussing its merits. HTH!
15. I don't know if this is what you're looking for or if it can be used in candles, but here's a link: http://www.dickblick.com/categories/pigments/ A pigment by any other name is still a pigment?
