I just got a box from them yesterday and I live on the east coast. It took so long I completly forgot what I ordered....lol at least a week and a half

Here is what I have been doing since 2 am last night before I finally went to bed. I made hang tags. I really like the way they turned out. inside the tag just tells alittle about soy and the benefits. I hung them using hemp yarn. I made some labels that just have the scent on them that I will be putting in the back of the candle at the bottom, very simple and clean. hope you like

grumpy, what program did you use to creat your brochures? I have Avery design pro. Im at work now so I cant see if I can use that porgram or not. Do you just print on regular pieces of paper or get glossy, card stock etc..?

hmmmm, I guess I can start with designing a brochure. Ill speak with bizzyB if I cant figure it out myself. THanks guys

I was doing some research on candle parties on this forum. I can across something called catalog parties. I was wondering how the heck you get a catalog made with your items. Im assuming that its a full color glossy catalog just like the professionals right? Is this very expensive to do? And how do you design it?

Im only 23 years old people, and after reading the first page of that site I was horrified. I can write better than that. quote---- Our scents are so strong and so realistic you will think you have the real thing right in front of you! Whether it's a fresh baked pumpkin pie or a ripe juicy peach, you'll swear that peach or pumpkin pie is around somewhere! Our fragrances are quite stronger than the rest, which leads us to our Intelliscent fragrances - read on below!! That paragraph just says juvinile to me. As far as her approach to marketing, I think that she sounds desperate to sell IMO. If I was a regular consumer I would not bother to read everything on that page. There is way to much information and yes I beleive that it does sound like an infomercial. Customer dont want to here all the "technical" things that go into making a candle. All they are interested in is scent and looks. They could care less about what went into making it. I believe that she is wasting her time coming up with all that gibberish.

sorry to hear that. Please keep in touch. sometimes it can be worse if you give up what you love. I have faith that one day you'll be back in business. Dont let anything get you down and tell you you cant do something.

The frosted jars came from candlesandsupplies. The quilted jars came from Walmart! I just put different lids on them cause I dont like the canning type lids.

i am able to use the spreadsheet to track Fo supplier and inventory etc. and I use it to type up my evaluation sheets because I can drop my logo onto the top for a more professional look. I cannot figure out how to print labels though. When I open design pro i try to insert my logo and it doesnt work. there is nothing there...??? And stupid me I figured out all the size labels that I need and went to labels by the sheet and ordered them, BUT I only ordered one sheet per size!! how stupid of me. I didnt think that Im probably going to go thru about ten sheets or more before I get it right...lol.. Ps I havent receive the sheets yet in the mail but when they do I plan on spending all day wednesday figuring this crap out. I have candles that need labels damnit!

These are some pics of the candles that I made today. Of course the frosted tumblers have wet spots that look crapy. But oh well, cant fight fire with fire right? The Tops of my candles. Nice smooth tops I love 70/30...lol More Masons, Brown is German Choc cake, peach is Georgia Peach, Green is Watermelon, Purple is Lime Leaf and Lily, baby food jar is Sugar Cookie Here are some candles in 12 0z. Madison jars and 4 oz. Quilted ball jar. left is Honeysuckle, right is strawberry and bottom is lime, leaf and lily This is a baby food jar that I did. I just poured the extra wax from some of the candles in these to keep for myself. I just poured this candle this morning. I decided what the hell Ill burn it and see how it does, not expecting anything. I put it in the bathroom. That thing smells awesome already!!! Its Strawberry from Peaks! Wow I really like the style of those candles. They are super vintage / cool.. BizzyB really does a nice job. I will continue to go back to her for more labels etc. Even though she probably thinks Im a PITA...lol

I make two of everything. I test one myself first, just to make sure that the wick isnt too big and the jar doesnt get too hot. Then the second one goes to a friend family etc. the people that test for me are always thrilled to do it. They dont mind meauring stuff etc. As long as they get to burn a candle for free. I do however ask for the jar back. before i get someone to test I let them know upfront that they will have to fill out a survey/evaluation and its something that takes time. I let them know that they MUST be able to be near the candle for four hours while burning. So if someone doesnt like it or doesnt have time then they cant test my candles.

And i have another question since Im not computer savvy. How do I download it "into" Open Office?, which is the same as Word but free. is it the same as just downloading everything else onto your computer or what?

I need someone to help me with Avery. Im on there site and there are two types (Avery limited and Avery delux) Which do you all use? I only see an option to download avery limited, No option to download Avery Delux though??

I was worried that it would be one big mess when I first ordered this stuff. But it reminds you of one big block of crisco that was hardened. Its quit fun to cut actually

What room will candle be tested in? is the room small med or large how far away were you from the candle when burning it start and end time of each burn was there a cold throw how long did it take for a full melt pool to be acheived if any ( you will have to explain this) how deep was the melt pool once it was acheived ( you will have to explain how to measure this) how was the color, did it match the scent in your opinion was there frosting or white spots on the surface after you burned it ( you will have to explain this) did the wick mushroom (you will have to explain this) if so did you trim your wick before the next burn opinions on scent is the candle appealing to look at how does this candle compare to other candles that you have burned would you spend money to buy one of my candles (thats all I can think of off the top of my head)

I went on an FO shopping spree last week. I had no control I was in the zone jumping from one site to the next. Next thing you know, I have 40 new scents at my doorstep by the end on friday. I couldnt even remember what I ordered when I got the packages. It was like Christmas. Well, anyways It turns out that I double ordered Monkey Farts, Pink Sugar, Fresh linen, strawberry, and some othes all from different suppliers. SO Im kinda glad I did this because now I can test the same scent against each other to see what supplier I like the best. I can tell you that just from smelling them out of the bottle Peak's is winning by a long shot. But I heard that scents can have a totally different smell after they are mixed with wax, so we'll see

Those are wonderful. Great Job. I love them . I must say Im a container girl but I would buy one of those if I saw them somewhere

i just receive 30 scents in the mail today! So im pouring all weekend. I also got some new jars to work with as well. Oh, and I got my lables that Im going to try to print. Im doing vodoo on my printer so it will give me good luck...lol

I am not adding the fragrance on my logo. I have decided to put it on a hangtag instead. What do you all think of that? Those of you that get hang tags where do you get your paper to do it? Is there a special paper that you can order offline?

Im right there with ya sista. I just got all that stuff a little bit ago. Now im in research hell for business cards, letter head, price sheets and more testing! oh what fun the business side of things are....lol

ok im downloading the open office now. wish me luck. for some reason i have a hard time getting things to download properly to this computer. I may need some extra help when Im done.
