i completely agree with you. and thanks for putting it such a mature fashion. I planed on adding the ingrients (SP?) in the container page which is not even close to being done. there isnt even any words on that page. I will add a little blurp about the candles being a "blend" so you think that if my candles are a blend then i shouldnt have a soy facts page? or maybe just cut out the top part where it talks about paraffin?

ok you know what, im done with this conversation. I want to thank all of you that gave me great feedback good or bad. I know that there are alot of mistakes that need fixed. and i should have known not to post it until it was completed, but i thought that maybe i could get some constructive advice from the folks that dont like to stir up trouble and you know who you are. Im so sick and tired of being judged and bashed on this site. If you look at my history here i have gotten into some argumets with other people simply because i was new. if you dont like my site or what its contents are then dont visit it. im just so discusted with the way people intentionally start debating, yeah i said intentionally. its a shame because ive meet some really great people and you all have helped me out so much. but im not in high school anymore nor do i have the time to argue with people. I shouldnt feel like i have to "prove" myself time after time or present facts to backup my information. what are you the candle police? are you going to shut down my site because you dont like the way its worded Scented? i dont like to get mean and nasty its not in my nature but i cant stand people that reply with the type of short snooty attitude like you did. and im not keeping my mouth shut about anymore. knowone else does why should I? I am a very young person this is my first business attemp. Im not perfect and neither are you. If you didnt make paraffin candles i guarentee you wouldnt be making a big deal about this the way you are. give me a freaking break let me live and learn. dont come on me like a ton of bricks like im suppose to know everything about business like i went to school for it or something. if you would have suggested somethings instead of saying "prove it" then maybe we wouldnt be arguing like this. and thats all i have to say

my site does not suggest that my candles are 100% soy. I will reword the soot statement because I agree with you on that one. I need to word it better. I knew that someone on this site was going to give me hell for my soy facts page. I was just waiting for it to happen. there are only so many ways you an word something. there are thousands of sites out there that talk about the benefits of soy i cant possibly be 100% original. How else do you suppose I word " soy candles are water soluble making them easy to clean " ??? I can only be so creative my god. Im not a thesarus (sp?) Im sure however you phrase it someone else already wrote it. thats the internet for ya. and second IM NOT BASHING PARAFFIN! GET IT RIGHT! it clearly states that for all you people out there who just love to b*tch about people that point out the FACTS!

I started out using EZ Soy and I hated it. Frosting, fo seepage, cottage cheese, the whole nine. I got a sample of the 70/30 blend and i fell in love with it. Even though its 30 % paraffin I sometimes will mix 20% EZ Soy into it to make the ratio more soy. I live on the east coast and green leaf is expensive. Brenda is working on getting a warehouse here on the east coast to ship this wax to us cheaper. To me its not the cost but the quality. you get what you pay for and your porduct will reflect that. Some people love the EZ Soy and have great success with it. but for me it just wasnt working. I would keep testing it for a little bit longer and see if you can get it to work. sometimes it just takes a little frustration and venting to get it right:D

i did my research trust me. but if you must know here is one site that i used for references http://www.healthycandles.org/candle_wax.php about half way down they talk about paraffin. remember im not a paraffin basher just stating the facts

lol. I am an extreme perfectionist as well. Trust me I have about 5 pages of corrections to go thur. And its all little things like the home link needs to be moved to the left a smidgit..lol. yes i took the pics myself. But i am working on figuring out how to get he date stamp off...i hate cameras! i will be getting more pics and replacing those probably when i get some better props. thanks for all the advice and proof reading!

I have been wondering the same question. I use the matt looking ones but sometimes they smear if I have sweaty hands or dont let the ink dry long enough. such a PITA

hey ya'll. For those of you that design your own website, what shopping carts do you use and why? I am almost dont my site, all I need is a cart and some more pics. I dont have a merchant account yet because Im not ready to sell and dont want to pay the monthly fees yet. any suggestions?

I agree, I would make the wizard a tiny bit smaller so the font is more noticable too. Other than that I think its great! I love the uniqness (sp?) in the design. great job

I went to this site, I tried to read the terms and conditions on it and I couldnt really find anything. If I sign up for three months does that mean i can get unlimited pictures to save to my computer and then use them for whatever I want? I dont understand what "use pictures for different things means" and " up to 100,000 copies" Sorry If i sound really stupid here. If im understanding correctly, I can use these pics that I download from this site for whatever I want i.e. brochures business cards etc. correct? Do I need to link back to them as well?

I have another question....is it illegal to go to google and search for images to put on my site? I dont know how else to get pics for my scents other than taking them myself?? I started to save some pictures but dont want to publish them to the site if Im going to get into trouble for doing so....

I cant believe that I was about to pay someone 750.00 to create a website for me. I registered my domain with Yahoo! I was on there the other day and decided to let them go ahead and host it as well. I went back on there tonight and was playing around and I downloaded this tool that lets you creat your own site. And the best part yet is that you dont have to know HTML!!! It's just like working in Word or something like that. I know now Im not going to be able to get away from my computer! Hubby is gonna get mad now boy...lol :rolleyes2 All I need now is some good pics and some graphics. Does anyone know where I can get some free graphics??

hey yall. im to the point now where I need to start making up some scent descriptions for my site and for my brochures. Im having a hard time describing Monkey Farts from Peaks. To me is smells fruity but I want to be more descriptive than that. any suggestions?

Crowded house, I think your right. Im not going to accept any less than 7.95 for my candles. I put a lot of hard work and money into creating this business. Not only are you paying for a great looking/smelling candle but its alos homemade so your also getting my blood sweat and tears too. If people understood what went into buiding a business and or candles then I dont think it would be a problem selling them for $8.50 Im not a cheap person but where i live alot of people are. I wouldnt have any problems paying 8.50 for a candle like mine.

Well I hope to ahve my cost down in the near future. I have not bought anything in bulk yet. The wax i get is very expesive to ship and i figure that into my price per pound ratio when I break it down. But soon ill be able to buy cases and get shipping discounts. But anyways thats how much it cost me to make that one candle. Ill agree to go to $7.90 thats a weird price though, what about $7.95?

I know we had this discussion before, however Im really ticked off. It cost me 2.75 to create one 8 oz. square mason jar candle. I plan to resell them for $8.25. This is 300% over cost. I spoke with my mother who sells home interior candles at work. I asked her if she wouldnt mind taking some of mine in to sell. She asked me how much, I told her. She said "well, I dont think your gonna get that much for them, people in there are cheap" She then prceeded to ask me how much it cost to make one and I told her. She said that maybe I could get 5.00 out of them. Should I take the hit and lower the price just to get some customers? Or stick to my guns and say well they are 8.25 take it or leave it?
