Hannah was a month old before I was able to make candles again, granted I had a c-section. I keep everything in my shop and only work out there when DH is home in the evenings. I could go out there during naptime, its right next to my house and use a monitor, but I'm not comfortable with that...anything can happen! I still make candles, its hard, but it gets done. And its very relaxing to be able to have some me time, and some quiet time for myself that I wouldn't get otherwise. Plus DH can't complain...its my business...lol. I toyed with the thought of quitting also, but I just couldn't imagine life without it!

Which in your opinion smells better?

The whole situation really reeks. I feel so bad for you Cindy! Now I'm going to have to figure something out about my website since I take payments through paypal.

Ok well my brother requested I get a Mary Jane scent and make him a candle. So I ordered a sample of it from Peaks. Now not to sound like a goody two shoes...or however that goes..lol...but I don't know if it smells good or not since I don't know what its suppose to smell like. So I'm at the mercy of the board to tell me if its a good dupe. Can anyone tell me if it smells like the real thing? I won't judge...lol.

I recieved my Peak's order today and got Downy Fresh as my free sample. Wow! It smells exactly like Downy. As for the Fresh Brewed Coffee, well my sniffer is not sniffing very well due to a cold, but from what I can smell, I don't really like it. Kind of nutty...lol...gross that reminds me of Austin Powers..ewww..lol. Edited to say: I'm going to give Fresh Brewed Coffee another chance when my sniffer is functioning better..lol.

Yes unfortunately we are required to do the fundraiser. I'd much rather sell candy, although I'd gain 50 pounds! Damsel, everyone is doing great. My due date was Saturday so now its just a waiting game for another kid to pop out...lol. I might as well just cut the check now for the candles...I just can't stomach selling someone else's candles..lol.

My son just started baseball. Upon registration I was handed a huge box of candles to sell as their fundraiser this year. My husband and I looked at each other and just started laughing! So I think we have decided to just purchase these candles ourselves. What would you do?

I've had bad customer service from Starrville as well and cancelled my one and only order from them. They waaaaay over charged me for shipping. When I called to inquire why it cost so much to ship I was told that it was just their policy and there was nothing they could do about it. Then I was told, "What are you gonna do? Cancel your order?" in a hasty tone. So I said yep! And that was the last of Starrville.

You don't have to order just one, I've ordered several before with no problems.

Thank you so much for the responses! He called me the other day to give me the low down but left some of those things out. I'm really nervous about getting all of this done since it is my first year...of course I'm nervous every year when tax time comes around! It creeps me out!

I know this subject has been beat to death! However, this is the first year I'm having to file as a business. Can an experienced candle business sole proprietor give me a checklist of everything I need to bring to the accountant? Some of this gets pretty confusing! Since I'm due in a month in a half, I'm trying to get as much done as possible before our little girl makes her grand appearance. Thank you so much in advance! Well I know during my membership to this board I've seen a recipe, but darned if I can't find it! My son was bitten by some insects this weekend and I used some Aveeno bath for children last night. I used the last of it and forgot to pick up some more this evening. Does anyone know a good oatmeal bath recipe to prevent itching and stinging of the bites?
