  1. Just trim to a ¼ inch, that's all I can recommend. However, Chris is right, some wicks are more prone to mushrooming than others.
  2. They are two different drinks: Blue Lagoon 1 oz vodka 1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur lemonade 1 cherry Blue Hawaiian: 1 oz light rum 1 cherry 2 oz pineapple juice 1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur 1 oz cream of coconut 1 slice pineapple Courtesy of drinksmixer.com
  3. Thanks to all of your advice! I'll try everything and let you all know how it turns out. :-)
  4. Thanks! On another board, it was suggested I purchase a heat gun, so I will try both. :-)
  5. I made a batch of candles yesterday...EZ Soy, 1 oz. FO per pound, added at 175º and poured at 100º...but the tops of my candles are rough, bumpy, crystallizing, etc. The cold scent throw is incredible, but the tops are irking me!!! HELP! I forgot to mention they're in 8 oz. tins, if that counts for anything.
  6. ....for their FOs? I just happened to stumble across them, and they're slightly cheaper than other suppliers, even if their selection isn't as large. Do they do well hot and cold? Thanks!
  7. Thanks! I will go with my original plan and order my FOs from BCN.
  8. Hi everyone! I'm a newbie who's trying to jump-start a candle business. I was curious about a company called Scents of Nature (scentsofnature.com). They carry fragrance oils, a few of which I've bought locally in stores and warmed in my potpurri/tealight thingamajiggy (I don't know the name of it...it's the thing where you pour the oil into the dish on top, and place a lit tealight in the opening underneath. The warmth from the flame heats the oil and diffuses the fragrance). But I digress.... I was wondering if these are the same type of fragrance oils used in making candles. If anyone has any experience with them, I'd greatly appreciate any input. Thanks!
