  1. You mean there are more gremlins in my future?😆
  2. I’m excited to start playing. This was my first batch. I used coconut, olive, and castor.
  3. I finally had a minute to make and a need to my first batch of liquid soap paste. It was so much fun and so fast! It was also really neat to watch how fast the PH changed… like what felt in the blink of an eye.
  4. Oh I know all about lavender looking like ants. When I had my jam company I thought a lavender peach would be a great flavor to try and just threw a tbsp into the batch. It was definitely not a good idea. It ended up tasting good but the optics were terrible! Lesson learned and from then on the lavender got infused.
  5. 😆😆 no magic woo just fun way to bring in some things we’re growing in the garden as long as it’s safe to do so.
  6. I read a recipe that uses calendula - steeping dried flowers in oil and then also making a tea with the distilled water. This recipe interests me because my friend is growing a ton of calendulas and I thought it might be fun to incorporate them and then I found that recipe. However me not knowing anything, when I saw that the dried flowers were steeled in the distilled water, my first thought was well now it’s not distilled water. Is that legit concern or is it fine?
  7. Thank you!! 🥰🥰 So addictive! II gut have made another pound this afternoon. 🤦🏻‍♀️
  8. They’re multiplying! Oh @TallTayl you were right this is very addicting 🤪. I’ve only made 4 1lb batches - 2 about 4 weeks ago and 2 more this week. Two were made with clays for color and two were made with micas. I’m kind of liking the muted color and tones of the clays. The playing with color and patterns reminds me of art class when I was a child. Plus the addition of scents.
  9. The only ingredients I recognized was xanthan gum and oat flour 🤪. I haven’t tried it because I don’t use body washes just bar soap. My shower is study in minimalism - one bottle of Hair Story’s new wash (and creamy non sudsy, possibly aloe base hair wash and conditioner all in one), one bar of soap, a razor, a and wash cloth… that’s it! I was mainly curious and found it to be interesting.
  10. I don’t sell what I make even me (with very little knowledge) knows better than to put stuff that’s flammable into a candle!
  11. I’ve been using Blueland products for a little while and absolutely love them. About a week or so ago they launched a powder to gel body wash. The concept is kind of cool any ideas how they might have done it? https://www.blueland.com/products/body-wash-starter-set
  12. Thank you for sharing. Oh yea another 🧼🧴 rabbit hole! 🎉 I love it! 😆
  13. Since it’s just for my own use, does it matter if it stays clear? Does the cloudiness create some sort of problem?
  14. I just found this video for a liquid soap recipe. Now I want to make liquid soap too. Yes, I’ve gone down a rabbit hole and I might need an intervention soon. https://youtu.be/_WPIMsLk1P8
  15. They kind of make it very approachable and simple. It’s nice just having one bag that gets put away..
  16. I have this printer and it’s fantastic. When I had my jam company I used it and Online Labels to print in house for whatever fruit was available that week. Even now, I cannot imagine going back to an inkjet.
  17. 🥰 thank you so much! I did try to plan it out so that I’m forced to use up my melt and pour batches in the time it will take for my first batch of CP soap to cure. The waiting is still hard and I’ve also been weighing the bars everyday. Nope not impatient. I find it fascinating that they’ve been consistently losing .01 oz every day. I have so much to learn! ☺️
  18. Freshly cut. It seems a little sticky/tacky. Is that normal? All in all, I’m not mad about it.
  19. Phew okay! I pulsed for 2ish seconds then physically stirred and repeated. As for the “recipe” I’ve got training wheels on. I purchased a bag of premixed oils from Brambleberry and then followed their instructions for adding the lye & water mixture. I’m sure eventually I’ll become more adventurous with recipe making but since this isn’t in my wheelhouse yet, I wanted to make it as “easy” and straightforward as possible. 🥰
  20. Round two was so much easier. I see lots of gremlins in my future because I have lots of learning and understanding to do. I’m hoping it won’t continue to look like butter once the heat dissipates and it hardens up?
