  1. It was supposed to have Tonic in it but I completely forgot to add the FO. 🤦🏻‍♀️
  2. I agree with @TallTayl and @NightLight. Pull your stuff and get outta there.
  3. Back in Sept I found the Soap & Clay channel on the you tubes and I loved the way Chantine explained the science behind stuff and all of her deep dives plus she’s super funny. I found it really fascinating so I started following and joined her group. Well every month she does challenge for the members and so I decided to do it… and I was one of the three selected. Oh yea and I mentioned in my little background that I came into CP soap making because of this forum and she mentioned that too. I guess some soap forums can be a little icky and not nice or judgmental. I don’t have any frame of reference because everyone here is just so wonderful.
  4. I much prefer being behind the camera. I can’t wait either.
  5. I’m so incredibly grateful for this board and everyone’s guidance and encouragement over the past few years. It’s funny how a little interest in making candles that I can enjoy (without getting headaches) meandered into soap making. Everyone I gave to soap to for the holidays was extremely excited. From the bottom of my heart thank you, thank you, thank you!
  6. Two M dupes I got we’re Bergamot & Amergris, Pink Pepper & Vetiver - these smell exactly how I remember. Grapefruit & Gardenia, Magnolia & Sandalwood - I liked the idea of theses and I pretty sure I can combine them myself with FOs from Cierra. The last was The Huntsman & the Wolf a (Jo Malone dupe) just sounded interesting.
  7. Just got my order and I love everything I got.
  8. I just placed an order with Lark. Definitely looks like they have dupes of M.
  9. I did try a few of their scents when I could get them on sale. They were nice but not for $90 x lb. When I started comparing them to Scent Memory, Ciara, Midwest, Nurture, there was no reason for me to spend that kind of money for their marketing. In my opinion, that’s really all you’re paying for. And also for a website that is glitchy and hard to use.
  10. lol I couldn’t wait. I washed two of my sweaters. It worked great… just like the bottle I have. I’m so happy!
  11. I just un molded and cut it. It felt good and cut easily, it wasn’t over sticky or soft. It definitely has a slightly different feel but it probably should with the lanolin. I can’t wait to actually try it out and wash something!
  12. Oh man I wish I would have seen this earlier 🤦🏻‍♀️. I only did both because that was on the label of the wool wash I already have. But now it makes me wonder why they used both if they are similar? it’s funny it’s only a small loaf, and I’m planning to cut into 8 1/2 bars. Between me and the two friends I make soap with I’m like um I need to find more people in my circle who wear wool lol.
  13. Winter is coming (I know, I know those of you in the Midwest are laughing at me and my coast nor Ca “winter”) and it’s I’m finally ready to forge ahead on a wool wash soap. My jar of lanolin arrived yesterday. I’ve played around with quantities in the Soap Genie App and I think I might have a jumping off point. i did notice the addition of glycerin in the newer version of Twig & Horn’s wool wash bar. So at least I know if I’m not completely happy with this bar I can always shred it down add some glycerine. You know, options. Hopefully I won’t have to do that but we’ll see.
  14. I’m not sure if this is related or not, but a friend of mine asked about the Flaming Candle. We’ve never really looked at their site or ordered from them because they’re on the east coast and I felt like I could get similar things from companies closer to me in Ca. However, because she mentioned it I decided to look, I was surprised at how similar their site and the layout of their pages were to Candle Science. The I wondered if I was imaging things?
  15. Having personal experience with Etsy and how it changed, I would avoid it. IMO it became a pay to maybe play, like give us money and we’ll consider sending people your way. I was giving them money but watching my stats plummet each month was incredibly frustrating. Versus pre going public I was getting a ton of eye balls, inquiries, and sales. Their fees also became ridiculous. Now if I see something on Etsy, I’ll check to see if that person has a stand alone website and will buy from there.
  16. Yep, that would be me. I knew I wanted a wine crate for the back of my bike for running errands and decided to add a little family branding to the sides. Little bit of a learning curve but lots of fun. IMG_4050.mov
  17. Old habits die hard… from jam making days and label requirements. Clearly not of the label requirements because I’m not a business but I still want these recipients to know what they’re getting including ingredients in the back. It’s funny even when I give food gifts I still label what’s in them because you know, allergies,

  19. During my Sunday soaping I forgot I used my new bottle of Tonic on my first pipe divider swirl. I used 4% and it behaved beautifully just like @TallTayl said it would. I also used Fields of Provence in a tallow and palm kernel oil batter with French green clay. Wow what a slow moving batter. Here I had spend so much much time looking over different slow moving recipes that moved slowly and all I need to do was use this one?! And all because I selected the “wrong” palm oil from my first order from Soaper’s Choice. lol it completely worked out to my advantage because I love the PKO, lard, and avocado oil recipe that created playing around with the soap genie app. Last but not least I’m so excited for how my holiday gift are coming together! I’m swooning over these mini crates that I found at the dollar store.
  20. Wow that was a lot but it’s also really fun when you get to do it with friends.
  21. This is fascinating. I never realized that this space was fragrance focused but now it makes so much sense. In my own journey from candles to soap to perfume (yes I’ve started playing with that too lol). I’m so grateful I found this forum as everyone has been incredibly encouraging and thoughtful. It really is an incredible community. I’ve heard horror stories (and seen a few on Facebook) about other forums and how unpleasant some people are.
