  1. what exactly are the differences in the typesof wicks,,,,,I understand the obvious...such as eco's verses regular....Just dont understand why there are So amny different kinds and what all the numbers mean! Anyway, I ordered all of my Jars from www.thejarstore.com they sent me the wicks that they recommended for those jars.....they seem to be great!
  2. Does anyone on here print their own labels? I have been working and testing my soy candles for about a year and just started making my product for sale. I have not put anything out yet because I am looking for that label that makes my candles stand out. I use the the Jarstores jars. The 10oz Rec and the 12oz metro. I am looking for something that will look good on both of them and trying to see what will be more cost effective. I would love to design my own if anyone has any suggestions on a program I should get....I am also curious about a website? Any help would GREAT!!
  3. hey just to let ya know....the jarstore has had all of their wicks tested in the jars and their recommendations are great! Ask for Paula
  4. Is there anyone who does candle making as their only source of business or do most of youjust toy around with it for a hobby? i guess I am just curious to find people who have had alot of experience on the business side of this:)
  5. well, i can say I have done alittle testing and i just cant seem to get over the hump of liking the way the eco advanced looks. It is almost effortless to make a beautiful looking candle. But I tried the same scents in c-3 and it looks bad but seems to smell so much stronger. I use eco dyes from northstar. FO from Lonestar and the jarstore, and I use the jars from the jarstore as well. They gave me wick recommendations and they seem to be working. I am not REAL sure about the melt pool issue. I would like to know what time frame I am looking for when it comes to melt pool......Any suggestions would be great! i work second shift, get off and work on this all night long!!! It is driving me crazy.....lol
  6. I dont have much experience, but I use 1 ounce of FO per pound. Maybe you can atleast try this???
  7. I pour the c-3 between 120-160. I am new to this, I just ordered TONS of stuff from the jar store and I LOVE their jars by the way. Any help you can give would be great. I also bouht their recommended wicks and i am testing them now.....seem to be working great!
  8. Can anyone who has used these two waxes tell me which one they recommend? I just bought several boxes of both, the c-3 seems to frost alot, however I get an excellent scent throw. I just tried the Ecp soya advanced. It looks great, no frosting, however the scent throw is not as good.. could you mix these too? Just wondering.....
  9. hello everyone, havent been on here in awhile. I am a full time police officer and MOMMY so I have been so busy! Anyway, I was on here awhile ago and there was a post where someone listed some links of a company that tests and sells wicks. I can not seem to find that post again. Anyone know what I am talking about?
  10. where do u order your jars from.......love em
  11. SO WOULD THIS BE THE SAME FOR ALL SOY WAXES?? I am just wondering if I should let mine cool until it gets slushy before I add the FO and pour. What temp would you say that is????
  12. can anyone tell me what the differences are between the different numbered and brand waxes??? I am using cargill c-3, but found a local company that sells natural soy 464, 119,125,135 and so on........can anyone help. I am looking at a local company www.thecandlemakersstore.com anyone ordered from there or know about these waxes???
  13. Ok, Since I am new to this......lol....how do I determine whether or not thewick is not right? Lighting it? Sorry I am not real sure of myself . Police Officer by day...candle maker by night....lol
  14. so for a small time candle maker like me could I test them then re-melt the wax and use it again trying different wicks each time? I never knew candle making was so hard....lol...it is truely an art!
