Thanks for the ideas everyone :)

Now a second part to the question. What do you do with the scents you don't like? Do you just toss them? I wish I had some candle/soap makers near me. I have sooo many things I would like to get rid of.  Like about half of the 1oz samples I have LOL.

My goal has always been to make an Excel sheet to keep track of the ones I definitely didn't like, so I could just get rid of them. That still hasn't happened LOL.

I sell them in my yearly yard sale. Along with wax melts I made from sample bottles that I didn’t like or weren’t strong enough. I don’t sell melts that are duds and I let people know what I didn’t like about them.

  2. I used the 14oz Libbey Cube jar and filled with 10oz of glass glow.

The jar is 3.5 inches at it’s widest point.

I tested with csn 14 and csn 16. Let cure for 6 days.

The pics are at 2 and 4.5 hour burn times.  The melt pool is about 1/2 inch deep, maybe a little less.

CS wick guide recommended the csn 14. I tried that and the 16 since the square shape might be problematic. But, even the 16 got no where near the edge of the jar.

The next size size up is the 22. Should I wick up or am I doing something wrong?

  3. I’m working to add candles to my repertoire. I made soy candles many years ago but am working with palm now.

Ive got the flip down for the containers. Right now I’m working on votives. Do I need to poke relief holes and do a repour to get rid of air pockets? Is that an issue for votives?

  4. I just saw a commercial for a little doll named Boxy. She comes with 4 boxes. Why? So you can unbox with Boxy!!!

At at first I thought it was a ups Barbie! But, no, this little cutie unboxes  items just like on you tube!  Little shoes in and accessories for the doll I think.

So, that speaks volumes as to how big this you tube craze has gotten. I can see it now. Kids making videos of their dolls unboxing stuff on you tube!

    🤔🤨😳😂

This news story goes way beyond fear mongering and even point out that a zinc type wick is a huge no-no. Ugh

Where is this “organic” soy wax people keep talking about?!  I get asked all the time if my wax and oils are organic.

And I wonder how many people have thrown away candles with zinc wicks thinking they are lead!

If only putting her in another area of the house would be the least bit acceptable to this spoiled 13 year old. 😾

I was considering a HEPA air purifier in the room plus a window fan blowing air out as well as the fan above the stove. In the winter she'll mostly lay in the living room in front of the fireplace so maybe the above would be enough for her? It's not been an issue for now because I've been making such small test batches and it's been nice enough to keep the sliding door open but winter is just around the corner so that's not going to work.

    Haha! I understand.

That should be good enough. Especially if she’ll hang out in another room.

Who knows, it may not be a big deal at all. How many years would it take for the fumes to have a negative effect?

That’s why I moved my operation out of the house. My son is 5 and don’t want to test that theory on him.

Ive owned animals my whole life until a few years ago. I would try to separate them, but I know if they weren’t having it, like yours, I’d give in!!

If you want to do a giveaway or contest, I'd go with Instagram instead of Facebook--make sure you look up and follow their rules for doing giveaways. That's where people are more and more instead of FB these days, and the better place for social selling.

Thats what I’m afraid of. I’ve yet to explore twitter and instagram. I’ve put it off longer than I should have. 😩
