Wow! They are moving fast aren't they? My phones about to die so I'll have to respond later. Just wanted to wish you luck.

Sounds like they are trying to figure out your exact cost so they can work your price down when they start ordering huge wholesale orders for this big account. Like paying you $7 is fine for a few cases but when we start ordering hundreds of cases can we get her down to $5?
And could be a back up if you won't come down on the price, to know your process so they can set up their own operation.
I would say no. Selling wholesale for retail is a different ball game from selling wholesale for wholesale. A small one person set up cannot make money that way, even selling thousands every month.

I have a dehumidifier and 80 is a comfortable temp. It is probably 65 in my bedroom at night.
Okay. It's been over 100 here in Texas, so, I'm thinking 80 degrees! No way! Lol

Well that's right in between the 80 degrees I keep my house in summer and the 60 degrees I keep it in winter
You keep your house at 80 degrees in the summer?!

It's amazing what they can cram into a standard size mailbox....One time I got some oils and that package was stuffed in there so friggin tight that I couldn't pull out for over 5 minutes. I got frustrated and gave it one big yank.....and the mailbox came out of the ground along with the package....

Sounds like me last Christmas trying to get 2 fire tablets out of the mailbox! I worked on it for 5 min. A guy working at a business across the street saw me stuggling and came over to help!

Another thing to think about with using the double boiler method...another way you can be getting water in your pot is by condensation buildup on your vent that is dripping down into your pot. Make sure and turn your vent on to prevent this.

I don't know why I didn't get any of the replies until this morning. I know the oils are very expensive. I will definitely price each item out and see. I know local won't pay top prices to people around here are cheap. but I can sell a little cheaper to them since I won't have Amazon and eBay fees for local pickup. I found another store that sells it for a dollar cheaper that's even closer to my house so I'm going to go there. It's at Tractor Supply. I bought the crystals what is the difference between the crystals and the pellets? The pallets were cheaper but I didn't know what it was. The pellets were called water softening pellets. The ones I bought were called solar salt crystals. lol this is a very confusing business but everyone on here is so helpful and I am learning a lot. Thank you very much for helping me.
There is an older thread that says not to use the pellets. But I can't remember why.

Oh oh oh.....I love that name Sebleo " Cherries Jubilee"!
Trappeur
Me too! Sadly, I couldn't find a pic I liked for the label with the company I get them from. That scent went through about a dozen names until I found a pic to go with it!

Wow, @Trappeur, you sold me on both, lol!

@Trappeur are they similar/interchangeable or are they very different?

I've read a lot on here about Vanilla Bean Noel. Which is better? That or Vanilla Voodoo I hear a lot about too?

I am looking for new companies to try out for these scents and am very apprehensive. I've luckily kept my suppliers down to 3 so far, mainly 2, and hate the idea of adding more. But, I knew it was inevitable.
I've been using Creamy Vanilla by Lonestar and absolutely loved it in soy and parasoy. But, it's just not strong in my palm melts. Smells nice but too weak to me.
I tried Candle Science Very Vanilla and while it was nice, it wasn't strong to me either.
Birthday Cake by Lonestar is OK to me. But, I'm looking for something stronger there too.
Any help you could give me so I don't spend $100 sampling from 10 different companies would be awesome!

Wow! I recently added some products to my Facebook page and 3 products were flagged. The scents absinthe, exotic hemp, and flowering cannabis.
When I first saw it I figured because they had cannabis or alcohol in the description and I was ready to try and reword them. Nope. They were flagged because it appears I was advertising a dating service!
How do I even fix that?!

Check out Peppered Poppies at Nature's Garden for a cherry scent. It's more complex than a cherry bomb or black cherry. I pick out mostly cherry with a tad bit of spice. It is crazy strong! And it could be renamed numerous ways. I was thinking of cherries jubilee at one point.

I want to order birthday cake from them SO bad but I'm like everyone else, just leery.
Have you tried Lonestar''s b day cake? It's the only one I have tried and really like it, but I don't have anything to compare it to.

Stunning!

Thank you for posting that. I buy a lot from Lonestar, but have never tried that one. Just placed a big order from them and next is CandleScience. (Have to stagger them!) I'll have to try that next time!

Hmm, that is weird. Seems your homeowners insurance would cover other people getting injured. Maybe they want you to have insurance for possible work related injuries? Which seems extreme for a desk job. I can't think of what type of insurance you would need. I don't think you would qualify for any type of crafting insurance.
There's no add on available through your homeowners?
Would your employer accept the candle making policy?
-
What would you be insuring? Would they be looking for protection in the event your computer and files are compromised?

A good respirator will prevent you from breathing in the concentrated chemicals. I would do it, but I would also leave the area for an hour or two afterwards to let the space ventilate. Time depending on how big your batch is of course.
Definitely use a respiratory. I got mine on amazon. I think the same brand might be sold at home Depot or Lowes.edit... 3M P100 is the type I use.

I rely heavily on reviews which is why I haven't purchased from companies who do not display them. I trust the reviews from the companies I buy from because there are plenty of negatives.
I also would not buy from a company that does not give thorough descriptions. Seems like shady/lazy business practice to not describe a fragrance. If they aren't going to put in minimal effort to sell me on it...you win...I won't buy it!
I have purchased pound bottles without sampling first. If the reviews are out of this world and there are a lot of them. Haven't been stuck with a dud yet.

The scary thing about it is that people could get seriously hurt. I had a booth set up on the 4th of July and an acquaintance stopped to say hi and asked what I was doing. I told him about my melts and he pulled up his shirt to show me his stomach which healing from massive burns. He said they bought a candle from a friend who had started making them and it exploded on him. He won't burn candles anymore.
