  1. Those look great! We keep trying to catch the ice cream truck around here but he's been too quick for us so far...hope the real thing looks as good as your soaps do
  2. If I had a supplier within driving distance they would be my best friend! The only supplier I have within driving distance have prices that are as high as I pay from any of my other suppliers after shipping. I do think it is a great idea to consolidate as much as possible with suppliers. You can save some $ and especially when you can drive there.
  3. Sorry JRC! It sucks when suppliers try to do customer damage control in public instead of via email or PM. You should not have felt that you had to post personal emails to defend yourself in public. You did nothing wrong asking basic questions and identifying the host to see if anyone else could help solve your problems since the hosting co was not.
  4. You definitely have better luck than I did. I didn't have any problem getting crawled. When I checked to see how many pages were actually indexed, out of 55-57 total pages in my site there were usually 8-10 that actually showed up. I can't even begin to understand how google does it's thing but every little thing that I can tweak is a step in the right direction for me. I can't swear that the hosting change helped, but I started showing more pages and moved up within a few months of the change.
  5. I don't know anything about HCM but the host I had couldn't change it. Their system assigned that automatically. Good luck!
  6. Does the .com/store part make it harder for google to index you or to move up in ranking? I had a .com/something (I don't remember what) and I could never seem to rise past page 3-5 in google. Changed hosts and had .com and now I sit higher. Don't know if that helped or it was just a coincidence tho.
  7. Love them! Makes me wish I had a beach house to put them in
  8. Sounds like a fun show with good sales - congrats! Did you eat a bunch of chocolate?
  9. Wow! Congrats & enjoy it :highfive:
  10. Congrats :highfive: I bet that first one opens the door form many more!
  11. Thanks for the reviews. I am doing a few today and I think a couple that have not been reviewed yet so I will put reviews on later.
  12. Summer shows - bring bug spray if you are a mosquito magnet. If you have access to electricity, bring a fan or two. We actually have a portable heater/AC unit that is about the size of carry on suitcase. With 3 sides of the tent down and that unit in the back blowing forward, our tent is pretty cool. I really hate summer shows and pretty much avoid them. I prefer a summer vacation for June-July-Aug.
  13. When I switched I tried 5 or 6 different soy samples, all with their own quirks. I resisted the change because I could never get "perfect" candles using soy. I finally decided that there will always be an imperfection (some don't frost much but don't throw well, some throw great and frost like crazy, etc.) I just picked the soy that I could live with it's particular imperfection. I get few sinkholes and very smooth tops with small amount of pitting when the candle sets back up after burning but I have never gotten rid of the frost so I dropped the color. Have fun deciding on your soy and I agree, there is a difference in smell. I think paraffin container candles smell more waxy but my mom says soy smells like hot cooking oil to her-lol. Good luck!
  14. In my experience parasoy has thrown me those circle cracks too. The lower temp helps but a repour has always been necessary to make them look they way I want them to. I have tried the heat gun and then repour and just repour and the results have been the same so I skip the heat gun. Heat gun alone has never been enough on a votive for me unless you like little shrunken votives that look like they didn't get filled enough. Good luck!
  15. I have used Caramelized Pralines, Fruit Slices, Spiced Oranges, Spiced Cranberry, Christmas Past, Blue Raspberry Icee, Tequila Lime all with great success in paraffin & also soy. I know there are more that I have used, but those are the ones that I can think of easily.
  16. Congrats! You'll probably get more orders too.
  17. To be a good enough show to go back to again we have to pay all costs + show fee and then clear $500 per day average. We only do a few small or one day shows and do 5-6 large events from Sep-Feb. We used to do any show we could get into but the income vs time just wasn't making it worth it. BUT, we do like a wine festival every now and then or a good chili cookoff. Not much profit but free food & drinks and fun - every once in a while is fun!
  18. The Candlemakers Store & Greenleaf have them on the square sheets instead of a roll. I have had better luck with them than the ones from BCN. I still have half a roll from BC that I never touch. I stick the wicks on the sheets and then after I get all of those done, I pull off the sheets and wick all jars at once.
  19. I was browsing on some gift shop site and came across your spuds! They were so cute.
  20. B-E-A-utiful! You have a way with those mottled candles.
  21. Congrats - glad to hear all the advise led you to a success!
