  1. BBS>Thanks for sharing that information! I will be moving to Tn. and needed to know this and many other things! LOL God Bless, Lynn
  2. Thank you everyone! I REALLY wasnt sure about this burn for this shape candle! For the most part, I am pleased and being a bug candle, I had to have the flame a bit larger to help work its magic! I normally would have wanted to trim it way before I did but between the wind and the bugs, well, what you see is the result! After I burn it again, Ill get some more snapshots and post them! This is all a test in progress!! Thanks for looking!! Bug Free-Lynn
  3. Hello and Thank YOU ALL for your sweet and wonderful comments. I am glad you enjoyed the Nightly view and this week I will be attempting to get better pictures. Those where just quick snapshots. I will also try to post some larger pictures for those that are having a hard time seeing. I agree, they all are pretty small pictures and Im sorry for that! How much time is invested in making one?? We wont talk about research time!! The cores have to be made and cured before using so that is usually done ahead of time or worst case senerio, the night before! The cores have to be prepped to a outter shell softer state to allow the colors to adhear. That usually takes approximately 1 minute. Each candle is dipped between 20-40 times depending on the design and can take anywhere from 4-8 minutes of dipping time. Next comes the carving. Again, depending on the design, that can take between 4-6 minutes. Glazing the candles after they have completely cooled and dried varies on time. If any embellishments are added, that adds extra time varrying from 1-3 minutes! The candles that are shown from start to finish took approximately 15 minutes to make after the cores were made. The longer time was due to adding all of the pearls. This time does not include glazing time which on average for these shown were approximately 45mins to 1 hour! No, My website is not ready for orders yet. I am still searching for SOMEONE to assist me the the checkout /payment processes as Im having some problems!! After that is fixed, right now it then would just be a matter of taking all the new pictures, adding them to the site and taking down the other candles that have already sold! If you see any that you like and would like to order, you can contact me here via a PM and we can go from there! I will get bigger pictures up this week for you to see! Thanks again so much for looking and your opinions! God Bless, Lynn http://ofci.biz
  4. I tried a little experiment for the 4th of July by making this candle. I KNOW that I poured the first layer of white wax a little too soon, hence the pink but since this was for us, it was ok! LOL I am not sure how to wick this type of candle since it is a star shape and the top diameter is smaller than the bottom. This candle was burned for 5 1/2 hours, outside in the wind! Considering, I THINK that this is ok but what do you think?? Any and all inputs are appreciated! BTW-No bugs bugged us that night! Thanks for looking! God Bless, Lynn
  5. Here are a few pictures of some carved candles I did not too long ago. They are lit up with a little LED light on top to demonstrate the glows. I will be having the LED lights available for the candles as these really allow the candle to be used under any circumstances! Thanks for looking and I appologize for the pictures not being the greatest! God Bless, Lynn
  6. This is a order that I recently did using Palm Wax! Hope this works, Im never good at posting pictures! LOL Attatching the palm hearts was a challenge to say the least but it does look pretty! Thanks for looking! God Bless, Lynn
  7. Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone knew if it is allowed to use embossing stencils in your logo design?? Since we would not be selling the lables which would use the stencils, I am guessing that this would be allowed! Am I correct or is there still a copywrite on these? TIA! God Bless, Lynn
  8. Julie, ALL of them are just great!!!!!!! I know YOU will get the wicking just right but they LOOK great!!!!!
  9. Those look yummy! Are those real candy sprinkles? What happens to them when/IF they come in contact with the flame? Great job!
  10. I can chime in here and agree with online labels! I had some that were 1/4" inch off and they sent me a new batch out. Well, those were a bit better but they are all off. I can NEVER get a full page to print right. I am lucky if I can get the first row across to come out right most times and I keep adjusting! I have a OK C3400 laser printer if that helps anyone! I am so discouraged on these labels. I bought the gold foil ones and not sure if Ill ever get these working right! If anyone has laser suggestions, please send them this way! God Bless, Lynn
  11. You have a beautiful store there! Everything is presented beautifully!! It was so nice to see the black shelving like that because black/gold and white are our colors and we want to do the black shelving also!! However, Id love to know where you got your shelving from or if its all hand made. I am so happy for you that sales are going wonderfully but I sure do hope that you get some more long term help!! You cant keep up with those hours for long!! Best of luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless, Lynn
  12. Karol, I wound up finding mine at a Piggly Wiggly when the main stores such as WalMart didnt carry it for 50 miles. Since I am in Ms. maybe you can find it too in Al. at Piggly Wiggly! HTH Lynn
  13. I am faithfully married but I do believe you and I would have sooooooo much fun getting all hot and sweaty............from all the candles we would make and light to test that is! LOL I love your writing style and your adventures! This is a candle board but dont let these other ladies pressure you even though we are all anxious to see your creations. Spend time with your son because before you know it, he will be all grown up! Include him, safely of course, in some of your candle ventures!! It would be great to create together!!! Im looking forward to your pictures, all of them. The good, the bad and even the ugly!:highfive: If I ever become single, well, since I am older and more experianced.......in candle making that is, LOL, I will just have to fly on over to Arizona and give you a few lessons and then see what we can create ourselves!
  14. GooGone is what I use for label removal and it works great! Also works great for getting candle/soap dye off of things!! HTH
  15. I love your space girl!!! You can actually move around in your workroom! I also like your bathrobe!!!! LOL Since we are renters and have carpet in my workroom also, we had to lay down plywood and then linolium. There is NO way in heck that I was going to even begin to make candles or soaps on carpet!! You are very brave! Congrats on getting organized!! Hugs, Lynn
  16. I love the last label look best of all and can invision the candle showint through! You have some great ideas though and Im sure you will create something that you really like and that will help sell your candles even more! Great work! Lynn

  20. I was at a flee market today and saw a candle that was shrink wrapped and also had some sort of a 4 hole vented clear seal to cover the area that the shrink wrap didn't cover. I was easily able to sniff the candle yet it stays protected perfectly! I have NO CLUE what these are called! Any one have any ideas of what they are called and/or where to purchase them? Also, the shrink wrap had a perforated line so the shrink wrap could be easily removed without damaging the candle. I would also like to know what those are called and where to purchase them! TIA God Bless, Lynn
  21. I use spray GooGone on all of my candles and B&B equipment to remove scents AND DYES and wax! Its great! Dont use the thick spray but the liquid one. A few squirts and it removes it all and it is a Orange scent! I then wash my equipment like normal and all scents are gone! This works on plastic and metal! HTH God Bless, Lynn
  22. I too fill mine up to the top and this would be so great! Do you have a url or contact number for me to order some of these for myself? Thanks and God Bless, Lynn
