  2. Hi Tammy, Sorry to hear you were in the hospital!! I sure hope you are ok now. No, I didnt get to go to Jenns or down that way. Too many things here going on. It may be that one of the weddings is now canceled, per a phone call today from my eldest daughter!! Seems the groom is having cold feet! Maybe sometime in June we can plan for you to come and visit for the weekend like we had talked about. The pictures do make the room look so much bigger than it really is! ALL of that stuff in a 10x10 room makes it pretty packed girl! BUT, you and I can squeeze in there and have some fun. Email me and let me know how you are doing hon and what you were in the hospital for!! Hugs, Lynn Thanks everyone for the compliments on the room! It was nice getting out of the kitchen and into a room of my own, no matter how tight things are! LOL I had supplies in 11 of 12 rooms in my house. Im talking boxes gallore before! I am going to have a garage sale this summer and get rid of TONS of clothes so I can utilize the closet that is in that room and get more money for more supplies! LOL That will help alot having a small walk in closet for supplies! God Bless, Lynn
  3. That is so neat, please do tell where you ordered your stamp from?
  4. Here are a few Palm pillars that I made using BCN Large feather palm wax and LX wicks. These pictures are after a 4 hour burn.
  5. Urrrrrrrg, if anyone uses Image Shack and can help me to post pictures that arent so messy, please PM me!!! Im sorry folks! Didnt mean for these posts to come out like this! Thanks for looking!
  6. Extra "storage" just outside the workroom! http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/4665/img0214lr8.th.jpg' alt='img0214lr8.th.jpg'>How I have to store some of my products in my dining room! I have not even taken pictures of the other little places that I have had to find to store my stuff!! This is ONLY approximetely a 10x10 room and I will be putting up two more shelves on the walls above the window frame and door frame! Other than hanging stuff from the ceiling, I have run out of room! LOL I am thinking of hanging a system from the ceiling for drying my incense though! LOL
  7. http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/2982/img0212ja2.th.jpg' alt='img0212ja2.th.jpg'> Please forgive the mess in this room! I had to test a camera quickly so I decided to take some workroom pictures and thought Id share them! God Bless, Lynn
  8. This candle was created on accident! My layers werent sticking together properly so I "played" and this is what I came up with as a extra candle for the house! http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2889/img0333kc6.th.jpg' alt='img0333kc6.th.jpg'>
  9. This is a order that I did for DixieGal for a wedding. Unscented palm and the potpouri and scented melts are scented in my version of wedding day. The ribbons and roses can easily slip off in case the bride does not want these decorated.
  10. Ladies, all of your diaper cakes are wonderful!!! Great job!!!!
  11. Those look great!! I love using Palm wax but have yet to make container palms and cant wait to purchase some wax, just for that!! Thanks for sharing!
  12. I realize that having BOTH fluffy AND stable lather is preferred but if you could just have one with higher properites, wouldnt it be the stable lather?? How terrible are these numbers??: Fluffy=3.4 Stable: 7.8 Using SoapMaker these are the complete numbers: Hardness: 6.0 Fluffy lather: 3.4 Stable lather: 7.8 Moisturizing: 6.9 Please tell me what you think about these numbers and where, if I need to, raise the values or lower them!! Thanks so much! God Bless, Lynn
  13. They actually do have caffiene that can be added but the risks and dangers is something that you will have to be EXACT on or it can kill someone! I had done alot of research before myself for a cellulite cream that I could make and had decided that I will NOT use caffiene, unless I used actual coffee, in any B&B stuff!! Too many risks involved! For your stretch marks, I second on using Vitamin E!!! Seaweed extract can also be a great firming ingredient! It also helps draw out the toxins! I wish you luck and fully understand about the cottage cheese body!! I cant stand it and with my health, I cant exercise like I need to so I feel very trapped in this darn old body of mine! KNOW that anything you make will only temporarily minimize the appearance of cellulite!! There are no creams or lotions that will get rid of them completely!! Liposuction surgery cant even get rid of cellulite because it is below the fat surface! God Bless, Lynn
  14. Very nice!!! Someone sure will be lucky to get this!! Great job!
  15. I have ordered my Oscar DeLarenta from SOS. Shipping may be more for you but in the future, you may consider SOS if you havent already gone through them in the past! I ordered 4lbs from them last fall and all four were dead on! Not all of their dupes are dead on but then sure do try their best to make it right! I read in the OT area about your credit card fraud! Im so sorry this happened to you!! I wish you tons of luck with all of that and I hope you get to recover all of your money back!! Good Luck and God Bless, Lynn PS>I buy the Extreme Concentrate grade and you only need VERY LITTLE!!!
  16. It looks very nice!! Great art work!
  17. Now dont I feel really dumb!! Duh!! Makes sense!!........NOW!! Thank you all who have shared this tip with me! Cant wait to try it the RT way next time! LOL Hus, Lynn
  18. Ok, please educate me here, what does RT stand for?? Ok, try not to laugh too hard! I am already so disappointed in my first Cp soap!! I am going to post the picture of this soap in this thread here instead of the gallery since it was discussed here. Please move this if I am breaking the rules! The yellow isnt this dark now! Scrap pieces! So sorry for the quality of the photos! My camera is broken and I cant change the settings on it now! This soap was poured at midnight last night. Thanks for the link of fast tracing ingredients!! God Bless, Lynn
  19. Thank you all for your replies! Glad to know that 35% isnt too much! I am doing a 5% water discount and using SoapMaker, it says that my lye solution is at 29.8%. Please bear with me as I am still of course learning even how to use soapmaker and how all the numbers work together! I believe I have put together a great bar of soap, at least according to the numbers that is! LOL I have used the same recipe, minus TD and Oatmeal which I used in my CPHP soaps and have found my bars pretty moisturizing. I use: Olive Oil Rice Bran Coconut oil Mango Castor Palm Kernal Shea Butter Soap Maker numbers are: H=6.3 FL=4.3 SL=6.8 M=6.3 Comparing other recipes, my numbers seem pretty good and I know that in time, I will be able to improve them even more but for creating a first time recipe, I think the numbers are decent! Please tell me if any of the ingredients that I am using are fast tracing ingredients. I peeked and saw that it jelled a hour after it was poured into the mold. Today, 15 hours after I poured into my mold, I unmolded and cut my bars! I really should have waited a bit more as they were still a bit too soft. It is amazing watching the color changing! The natural yellow isnt as yellow at the moment but it is still pretty dark for my liking! Looking at the above list, can any of you tell WHICH ingredient is causing me such yellowness?? This was pretty yellow before I added the FO so I know that isnt it! I hate asking all of these questions and not getting this perfect the FIRST time but know that my friends on CT here understand and for that, I thank you all who are trying to help assist me!! God Bless, Lynn Mystic>I will try just what you mentioned!! Not having to watch the temps sure does seem like a easier way to do this. I never imagined that this would work but you can bet that I will give it a try.......just as soon as I get my butters! LOL
  20. Hi Chris, Boy, I sure did not put enough info in my first post and made it so confusing!! I was really depressed when I wrote it! LOL I only used the stick blender BEFORE I added the FO and only stirred with a spoon after I added it! I do know now to add this FO with this recipe at a very, very light trace. If that doesnt work, I may even allow my oils and lye soluction to cool even more before mixing. I had both at 100 degrees. I did only do short bursts with the stick blender as I saw that it was trying to thicken very quickly! Thinking back, I do recall that when I made my CPHP soap that it got to trace very quickly then too! Hmmm, wonder if it has to do with my actual recipe! I love this learning process but hate wasting supplies especially when I am about out of so many of them! God Bless, Lynn
  21. Hi AJ, thanks for replying! What I made was my first batch of CP soap! I have made CPHP soap in the past and know that as long as it is cooked right that it is ready right away as soon as it hardens! Again, this is CP soap and know that it has to cure! I had read that with high amounts of Olive Oil that the cure time is longer but I cant find more info on that and dont know if the amount that I have in my recipe is considered high or not to make this qualify for longer curing! Make sense?? Thanks for the congrats! Lynn
  22. :bump: Bump for a reply???!!!!:bump:
  23. Well, I made my first batch of CP soap last night in my favorite scent........Catalipa by Solas. I didnt have enough of my refined shea so I had to mix some of my unrefined to make up for it. I hope that doesnt make a huge difference in quality other than color! With NO coloring or FO at all, the batch was a yellow!! I should have added the FO when it was a VERY THIN trace and not a light trace as this stuff thickened quickly and I only hit it for approximately 20 seconds with the stick blender!! By the time I poured the soap into my squeeze bottles and started my squiggles in my mold, it was already setting up and what was in my bowl of uncolored had traced completely and I had to scoop it up!! I was heartbroken but I do know its all trial and error with each and every FO! BUT>I did do my first batch of CP! LOL For the most part, I like it if I can get the timing down right! Now, here is my question, this particular recipe that I created and have made using the CPHP method has 35.39% olive oil. I read somewhere that if you have a high percentage of OO, you have to let the soap cure longer! Is 35% high?? How long do you think I need to allow this soap to cure? Also, I used thechemistrystore.com's soap dye and my gosh, it took so much to color my 4 cups worth! (I made a 8lb batch) I think I should have only colored 2 cups worth personally but live and learn! I didnt have any green in select shades and have not used them yet, are they really that much better than other dyes? My next batch I make, Ill use SS and see what I think, I just didnt have any green to test with! LOL TIA All!! Hugs, Lynn
  24. WOW!! Awesome swirls! That soap looks wonderful!! I do like musk scents, ones that dont make my nose tickle that is!! I am going to have to get me a mold that isnt a log mold so I can make swirls like that one of these days!! Just beautiful!!! Great Job!! Lynn
  25. I have used skewer sticks. I will stick the end into the wick hole and will use whatever means I have on hand for the size diameter mold I am using! Usually clothespins to hold the skewer in place! My wicks fit perfectly without too much room! Depending on the wax I use, I sometimes will spray my wooden skewers with a mold release to help the wax from sticking to the wood so I can remove it easily after the candle has set up! HTH God Bless, Lynn PS, BE SURE to use some sort of mold putty to the outside bottom of the mold to help prevent leaks and to help hold the wooden skewer in place on the botton!!
