  1. For pillars or votives? It might matter, I don't know. I've only used the ECOsoya PB.
  2. Do a search on "beeswax" in this forum. You'll find all kinds of info, including my recent wick tests. Beeswax likes big wicks. I've had most luck with the square braided cotton. If you're going to color the wax and fragrance it, why not just use another wax? Beeswax is expensive and already has a wonderful fragrance. Tony
  3. How about $7.61 per case with lids... http://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/category/jars.hex/ Tony
  4. People usually do not fragrance or color beeswax. It is a wonderful natural product and that is one of its sales points. Tony
  5. Sounds like someone should host a group buy and chop up some blocks Tony
  6. I took me a while to figure that out when I went searching. Seems you can save a bit buying in bulk.
  7. Just started playing with 474 for tarts. Works nicely. Purchased at www.thecandlemakersstore.com Tony
  8. Just don't light those guys after eating a big bowl of bean soup!
  9. Ya know, I can't seem to find graphics I like. I think I might draw my own too... Did you just scan your art?
  10. Edit feature has been disabled. Great looking soap, btw. I am just getting started and I am in the supplies gathering phase at the moment. I hope to be able to make a bar that looks half as good as yours! Tony
  11. Love those containers. The wax colors work nice in there too.
  12. God was the original FO manufacturer... Just go outside in the springtime when the Lilacs are in bloom if there is any doubt
  13. You put a tealight candle down inside. It glows from the light of the candle. If you choose to embed flowers or pictures, they show up nicely. Tony
  14. I couldn't find any other than 12" there just now. I am going to try them anyway and just not fill as full. How thick do you try to go on your orbs? I still think I'll need one of your tutorials so I can figure out how to put flowers or other things on the orb. Tony
  15. My wife has been babysitting for 10 years. She's about done (mentally, physically). That's one reason we're doing the candle thing too.
  16. What does the water temp affect, other than the speed of the shell formation? Thanks for this good info, Tony
  17. I mostly just left the cold water balloon suspended in the wax. The wax was at 150 deg. I'll probably go up to 160 on the next try. I didn't have much wax in my pot, so the water balloon would cool the wax enough that I'd have to warm it up again because it was beginning to skin. Tony
  18. I've had no problems with votives. I was able to remove them once I saw the wax shrinking away from the sides of the votive molds. The wick pin came right out as well. I did have problems with a 2" pillar mold. I need to try those again. Regarding weak flames, I have two waxes that are hard to wick. The wax appears very clean, but this is my first experience at wicking beeswax. They are buckwheat and acacia. Tony
  19. My attempt was totally unscientific, so I didn't keep track at all. Anyway, I figured if I can't burn that Acacia, I might as well make orbs with it Tony
  20. The only time I've been in Tucson was this time of year, about 6 years ago. It was very nice... We're still chilly in Ohio How did those tart warmers sell? Tony
