  1. I've been reading and researching for foot soak recipes and milk bath recipes. Some ingredients that are listed don't make sense to me why they be mixed in. Silly question but why would I want starch and baking soda in a recipe? I'm just expanding my line from just soaps to bath salts, milk baths and soaks, so any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, SP
  2. I add my fresh honey in at trace.....never had a problem. I do not deduct anything. SP
  3. I have some perfect boxes that I got from my sister-in-law. I will try to get a picture up for you see them. The box measure's 5" long x 3 3/4" wide x 3/4" high. Plain white which great to put your labels on....two decks of cards will fit nicely in this box. I can fit two guest bars(B&B Bars), 4 tarts-6 tarts(depending on your size) and 6 tea lights. If its what your looking for, PM me. SP:cheesy2:
  4. Get a needle nose pliers and pull out the wick....it will come out easy. Re-insert back into the wax. SP:cheesy2:
  5. What does it smell like? Could it be Monoi de Tahiti only they got the letters mixed up? SP
  6. May I ask what type of wax your in testing in? I had bought this oil because of all the rave. People where saying it was better then WYW so of course I had to try for myself. Well not the case my wax....which is a soy blend. I can hardly smell a thing. SP:cool2:
  7. You can use many things like burlap, gingham, feedsacks and if you have any old apple crates, great for displays and as a backdrop for picture's. You will have fun setting up your props for the picture.... SP
  8. Yup, this is what I tested in 8 oz jj, Eco 6 with Anthala Vanilla and it burns perfectly.....I'm so happy that it works because this is a lovely oil. SP:cheesy2:
  9. Saltbaox, I got Lemon danish too! i poured that on sunday so ill be testing in a few days. I poured that in a 4 oz. quilted ball jar from the grocery store. Ill post my results as well. I will be interested to hear your results on this since we are using the same wax for this FO. Lemon danish smells great too! What wick, jar, % Fo did you use??? I love this scent and I want it to work so badly!!!! I just want to let you know I'm still in the testing stage with this wax. The wax that I normally use and still using is El Soy Blend with HTP wicks. I'm using a square jar that holds about 9.5 oz wax. I only pour 8 oz with .5oz of fo. The jar measures from corner to corner 4". I used Eco 14. Start the test burn this morning at around 7:30 am, at 10:23 am the meltpool is 2" in diameter.....so its slow moving. Scent throw is barely noticeable and for a bakery scent, it should be strong. I know the cure time is only a day BUT most of the oils that I choose and keep throw strong in a day. I'm not the type to wait around for weeks for a decent throw. If it doesn't throw in my wax with only using 1 oz and a day or two cure time, I will not use it. I will let it sit for awhile longer and see how it throws......and try few different wicks. I'm suppose to be getting Fil Tec wicks, so want to give them a try in this wax. SP:cheesy2:
  10. I too ordered Peaks oils because of all the great reviews and it does not throw well in El Soy. I just poured Lemon Danish in GL 70/30.... the same as your 8 oz tester. I will be test burning tomorrow and I will post my review. I think that most of the reviews are for paraffin, so I will be testing in the 4786 after I'm done with GL. SP
  11. I believe it will be too big for a votive. I use Eco 6 for my 8 oz jj. You might want to try Eco 1 and see how it burns....or if you have any HTP's, try HTP 73. SP
  12. I forgot I had some of this so I poured some last night in GL 70/30. Couldn't wait for days to cure so I'm burning it right now. Wonderful throw and believe it or not I only used .5 oz to a pound of wax....oh yes and the candle I'm burning, only had an approx an ounce (left over ) in it and its in my kitchen which is the hardest place to scent. I can imagine it will get stronger as it sits and cures. SP
  13. I think it might be your fire alarm low on batteries, which sounds very much like the a carbon detector...ask me how I know after calling the fire station in a panic, in the middle of the night. They did all the testing and couldn't find any trace of carbon so they left. A few minutes later I heard it again my husband was standing by the fire alarm as it made this sound and he starts laughing.....I felt like an idiot but the fire fighter's made up for it...hubba hubba:drool: You should get it checked to be on the safe side. SP
  14. I think I will be calling them tomorrow. Hopefully they will answer my call SP
  15. I use the Enchanted lites Mill Blend and had emailed them about the shipping cost to Canada....still waiting on the response. If its $10.00US like it showed in the check out (unless they never updated the cart since the 80's...hehe), then I will be buying the 50lbs case...LOL SP
  16. That was my point but you explained much better then I did:cheesy2: SP
  17. To my old friends and family I sell at the wholesale price which is 2 x my cost....my "new friends" can buy from my store at retail....LOL I retail 3 x my cost. You are going to have to do a market research of your area and price accordingly, but make sure your are making a profit and not just giving it all away. Hope this helps, SP
  18. Yes, I read that too but I guess it all depends on the person skin sensitivity.....and I don't always believe everything that I read. I like to try things out for myself and judge that way. SP
  19. Not sure what your views on Coconut oil, whether you believe it drys out the skin, but here are a few recipe's using the oils you have on hand. Olive 40% Coconut 30% Crisco 30% Recipe #2 Olive 40% Coconut 30% Crisco 25% Shea 5% Recipe #3 Olive 45% Coconut 30% Crisco 20% Shea 5% Hope this helps out a bit, SP
  20. O.k. so I think I will re try my 83's and 93 see how they work. If I remember correctly they tend to dance around. Is this normal with double wicking? Thanks again for your replies, SP:cheesy2:
  21. I was thinking the same thing when I first started but unfortunately my views changed after packaging and pricing came into play. Have you ever been to a LUSH store? This is exactly the way they market their soaps...in chunks. They weigh their soaps and package it like at a meat counter...pretty neat. SP
  22. I'm also having trouble with mine. I have been working on 10 oz apothecary and 10 oz clip jar for awhile also. I don't know if the wax of wicks. I know that 2 HTP 62 will not work with my soy but maybe in paraffin. SP
  23. Oops!! got the name wrong. Here's the site www.waxhouse.com SP
