  1. I received mine today....poured tonight....will let you know!
  2. I am also about to purchase some, and I saw on this board that Peaks has the one that is combined...you don't need two different parts. I thought I would try that one.
  3. I also use Bittercreek stickumms....ever since the peeps on this board recommended them to me....been working great!:highfive:
  4. I thought I read where you can order them by 100's, but at the time they weren't carrying all sizes. Here is the CT link.... http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5919&highlight=Premier+100
  5. hmmmm, I thought some people posted that they had had the same problem with some metro jars they received, but I can't remember if they from Fancy Candle Jars. I also received the samples. I have tested in them twice with no problems, but this makes me nervous.
  6. The ones I am looking for use butane....but ya' know what, long matches may not be a bad idea!
  7. Guess I will be checking out Papermart! I was hoping I could go with the tubing so that I could be more flexible with the sizing. Thanks for your input!
  8. Thanks for the info! I was looking for the 8" ones, but I am sure there are others who would love the 14" ones!!
  9. Oh, gosh...I didn't mean you to think I was rushing you...I was emailing someone else on this thread regarding these and I was confusing them on what I wanted, so I posted a picture...I thought...LOL I don't have any shows set up - we are still "tweaking" some things, so I am not in a rush at all....
  10. This is what I was looking for...I am going to ATTEMPT to get a picture here....... hmmmm, not sure if this is going to work...LOL nope, don't see anything...lol http://www.acandleco.com/index.cfm/fa/items.main/parentcat/8900/subcatid/0/id/96340
  11. Wick Stickums a must...I came here with the same question not long ago (we were using a hot glue gun or glue dots) and our wicks were a-floating!!! I was given the same advice. I never did try the silicone, so I can't comment on that. I would try the Stickums. If you are using the 15mm tabs, I may have some I could send you to try.
  12. OK - I checked my records, and when I originally was burning these lighter-colored candles and ended up with the discolored melt pool, there was no soot on the jar. It happened when I reached the last 1/3 of the jar.... So the wax was discolored throughout at least three burns, then the soot showed up on the jar in the last burn. This is so frustrating!!! :rolleyes2
  13. Uh, oh...glad I didn't go ahead and order the tubing yesterday! Does anyone else have a supplier that they are happy with?
  14. I was searching the forums and wanted to bring this thread back up to check something out. I am ready to order the tubing for my impulse sealer - but am a bit confused. I have read Polypropelyne is the way to go, but all the shrink wrap I find is made from PVC....is this acceptable also? Edited to add: On further searching, I found out that people DO use the PVC with good results. I need to search a little longer before posting next time...sorry. My intention is to fill the 18-pk cardboard votive boxes, then shrink-wrap them until we are ready to go to the shows. Just one more teeny-tiny question (I HATE to be a PIA, but I have not seen this particular question addressed before)....will the candles be ok shrink wrapped in a cardboard box? LOL Thanks again all.....I am REALLY hoping to be able to contribute SOMETHING soon.......Jane
  15. Thanks so much for the replies....not exactly what I was hoping for, tho.... Actually, it is a good time to play around with them and try to get the colors right. I think I will up the batch to 8 votives each, then we will be working with a pound of wax. That will make the measurements of FO and dye easier to work with.... Thanks for your help.....much appreciated!! Jane
  16. We "think" we may have found the right wick for our votives, but we want to try them out with each of our scents to make sure. Is it necessary to add color when you are just doing testing? I was planning on making about 4 votives of each scent. We have not come up with all the colors for our scents, but I don't think this would be a good opportunity to do so with such small batches - kind of hard to duplicate a "toothpick of this, and a drop of that". My thinking is to wait until we are doing AT LEAST a pound or more of wax to work on the color combos. Am I thinking backwards here?? Does anyone have any other ideas on how I should tackle this? Thanks so much for any advice! Jane
  17. We are having the same issues. We are trying different wicks due to soot, etc. and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it also clears up this problem. I know with the jars I was testing, the discoloration did seem to be worse on the ones that were over-wicked. Good Luck and let us know if you figure out what the culprit is! (Are you, by any chance, using 4630/1945 Harmony wax?)
  18. I have been to three different "dollar" stores....with the same reaction you got. I think I originally found them in a "99 Cent" store...when I mentioned that to one of the store managers, she said they have different suppliers than the other stores, so it was not surprising to her that I couldn't find them.... I don't know of any "99 Cent" stores in my area.
  19. Update" from my previous post: We are still having "smoking" issues with the HTP's and the Premier's with the 4630. We are double wicking a 12 oz apoth jar. We are going to try the LX16's in these to see if we have any luck with that. We had tried double-wicking with LX18's, and I don't remember any smoking issues, but they burned too hot and the melt pool was way too deep, so maybe wicking down with these will help. Any advice is much appreciated!
  20. I was referring to the butane lighters that are shaped like a match.
