  1. Ok, here is the unfinished necklace. I was going to finish it in the same style as the pink bridal choker I posted in another thread. The more I look at this, the more I think it looks weird. Should I just take it apart or finish it?
  2. Ok, I have been tinkering around with some ideas for Patriotic jewelry using Swarovski crystals (would I use anything else? LOL). I have this one necklace almost finished, and its STUNNING. Problem is, its a very dressy piece and I would probably have to charge around $35 for it. What any of you buy something like that? Or, is it stupid to buy something like in general? Thanks so much for any feedback; Linaya
  3. I havent been to many baby showers, but there was one game I'll never forget! Put out small bowl of uncooked rice and small safety pins. Blind-fold the guests, and have them pick out the safety pins (closed, of course!) out of the bowl of rice. Whoever gets the most safety pins, wins! You'd be surprised at how hard it is to feel the difference from uncooked rice and safety pins!
  4. Thanks everybody! I got it listed on my Etsy shop; hopefully it will sell soon, so I can get more supplies. Its such a vicious cycle:grin2: !
  5. New bracelet and earring set. Opal, peridot, and padparadscha Swarovski crystals were used, along with a magnetic clasp. Trying to think of a "garden" name for it. I'll be posting it for sale on my Etsy shop. What do you guys think? Thanks, Naya
  6. Those earrings are beautiful! The hearts add so much to the overall design! I am always searching for "cool" chains to use in my projects also!
  7. Some of you may remember helping me with trying to make a bridal tiara for my sister. Well, that project DID not go well! Ended up breaking a bunch on crystals AND the tiara band. Plus, it was going to cost me almost as much in supplies as it would be to buy a similar one. So, instead, she asked me to try making a matching necklace for her dress. Her dress is off-white, with a pink satin sash around her waist. She wanted a necklace that had both clear and some pink in it. Ive emailed her the pics last night, but havent heard back yet to know if she likes this or not. I had to try 3 other similar design before I could get the crystals to lay right; this final design is the 4th try at it. I used Rosewater Opal crystals, Rosaline crystals, and Clear. What do you think? I kind of want to make this design again for myself in different colors:grin2: . The design is called SPUN ELEGANCE.
  8. Thanks so much for that link, TLC!!! VERY imformative. And, thanks everybody for the tips and compliments. The last few days, I keep looking at it, and now Im pretty proud of what I accomplished with NO experience.
  9. Ok, I have always wanted to work with mosaic tiles. But, until last Saturday, I have never done it before. Couldnt really find the info I needed, so I decided to wing-it at the craft store. Made a Patriotic wooden serving tray. Then, the next day, decided to try an actual standing wooden tray. Went back to the craft store to get supplies. Couldnt figure out how many tiles I needed, or how much grout or glue. FINALLY, after three more trips to get enough supplies, came home and started. Made up a pattern in my head, and went to town. Still have a bit of clean-up to do, but this is the gist of it: Lemme know if you guys have any tips! PLEASE!!! Got grout on my patio, ruined my clothes, and cant seem to clean up the grout on the tray itself. This project turned out to be an ABSOLUTE nightmare; this will be the LAST mosaic I ever do! (Right-click to enlarge pics)
  10. Im so excited! Now, Im going to spend the next few days going through all my bead books, magazines, and websites to find some new designs to try. Anybody have any suggestions for a project?
  11. My b-day was on Wednesday, so today (yes, two days late) my fiancee hands me $80, and told me to buy as many Swarovski crystal beads with it that I can! I spent all day looking at websites, trying to find the best deal, and it looks like I can get 720 crystals, in colors I picked (not a "lot"), in the two specific sizes I want, for about $74!!! Im doing the happy dance now:yay: *super banana* :whoohoo: I have a Swarovski obsession:rolleyes2
  12. Matching Necklace and Earring set that I made today. It was a fun design, so now Im making another one in green:yay: !
  13. Also try Plumeria; I love that mix!
  14. I made these last night; thought they would be cute for 4th of July. Blue wire, and Swarovski crystals! Right-click on pic to enlarge image.
  15. I came up with the idea in my head for these; gots lots more ideas to try with this new wire I got; 14 guage galvanized steel wire, baby:yay: !
  16. Thanks guys! Its so cute with a white t-shirt and jeans as well as dressier clothing. TexasBrat, Its surprisingly light-weight; I cant even feel it on!
  17. I made these to hang on our patio awning. Already tried them out in a windstorm, and they hold sturdy! 1st one is black, red, and white. 2nd one is larger pink, mauve, and rose beads. What do you think?
  18. Hi guys! Havent posted anything new lately, so I thought I'd post a few pics of some recent projects. This is a Swarovski Crystal necklace I made, to sell on my Etsy shop, using all sterling silver findings. I made the chain by hand using jump-rings. This necklace measures 18" and is surprisingly light-weight. What do you all think?
  19. Hi! I have only used 3 of their oils, but I LOVED them! Great hot throw in pure soy. Ive tried: English Garden, Raspberry Chocolate Truffle, and Jamiacan Breeze (which is my personal fav).
  20. I also prefer Lemongrass to Citronella. Something about Citronella makes me gag! Just this past week, I made myself a lemongrass/tangerine candle for use on my patio. Worked VERY WELL!!! We have been having a problem with gnats, bees, and flies, but every time that candle is lit, we hardly get any bugs! The reason I didnt use just straight Lemongrass was because I was wanting to experiment with adding different FO's to the Lemongrass to see if it would still work as a "bug repellant", and this particular mix did. I used 2/3 Lemongrass to 1/3 Tangerine. Also, because it was just a test candle for myself, I went ahead and used a leftover painted tin from Walmart, and 2 CD-12 wicks. It seemed to work for my situation, but it might not work for everybody elses:D !
  21. I liked the one from the HGTV website; Im going to tinker around with a few different designs before I do the final one.
  22. Thank you TexasBrat; I had seen all of those but one, and that one site looks like kind of what she is wanting. With me living in AZ, and my sis in CO, its hard to do this w/o her deciding a few things!
  23. Ok, my sister is getting married in September, and want me to make her a tiara; pink and white/clear, NO PEARLS! Ive been doing internet searches for awhile, and cant really find enough info. I either find good instructions, but no pics, or pics with no instructions. Do you any of crafty people know of a good way to do this? Im wanting to get started right away! Thanks! Linaya
  24. Hey! I requested you as a friend! Linaya
