  1. Thats exactly what I was thinking! We are planning a trip to San Diego in the near future and thought this would be perfect for it! Now, I am gearing myself up for my next loom project; a newsboy cap with a brim. I even PAID for a pattern for this project because I couldnt find any of the free ones that looked as cute as this one is. Wish me luck:D !
  2. This light-weight sweater only took 2 balls of Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red to make! I made up the pattern as I went along, and for the most part, Im happy with how it turned out. That yarn drapes so beautifully, and is the perfect weight for AZ winters (hot!). The last pic shows how neatly the sweater folds up; will fit in a suitcase w/o taking up alot of room.
  3. Looks great:rockon: ; Im so envious:bow: !
  4. Oh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that last one! I'll take a bar off your hands:D !
  5. Those are a thing of beauty; you did a beautiful job! I was finally able to use the looms to make Ava socks, but not in my size yet. I have used that exact same yarn on a baby sweater recently; isnt it pretty?!
  6. I got some fun fur on clearance at Joanns last week for 50 cents and $1; what color would look good with this sweater?
  7. For practice, I would use this Craft Wire from Walmart, 20 guage. Comes on a black spool for about $3.
  8. Thank you Lorrie! Yep, made it with the looms in 4 panels; 1 for each sleeve, one for the front, and one for the back.
  9. Woo-hoo, I finished it! Ive been procrastinating making adult sweaters because of how much yarn I was afraid it would take, and didnt want "cheap"-looking yarn. Well, I found Bernat Satin yarn at Joanns the other day for $2 a skein (100 grams). I am in love with the texture and color of this yarn! This sweater took about 300 grams of yarn to make, so it wasnt expensive at all, only about $6 to $7 to make this, and 8 hours. I didnt have a pattern to follow, so the design was done completely in my head again:D . I will be wearing a tank top underneath it for future use. Im also thinking of adding decorative stitching to the cuffs and hemline...any opinions? I apologize about the pics; I was the only one awake in the house when I took them, so I had to take them myself.
  10. Those are fabulous! I had a friend (another CT'er) that painted some candle jars for me last year that Ive been saving. I cant paint very well myself, so Im incredibly envious of your talent! ~Linaya
  11. The snowman is my fav; I collect snowman things. SO CUTE!!!!
  12. Very cute! Ava would love one in blue:D !
  13. OMG, she is too adorable! Love the t-shirt the most, but everything is so cool!
  14. I know all about that book; Im dying to get it, but cant afford it right now:( . And, Ive tried to join the Yahoo group, and for some reason, I cant register.
  15. If you think you dont have patience for sweaters, try knitting looms instead. I have an easy way of making kids size sweaters in one day, and adult sizes in 2 or 3 days. Go to Walmart and get that Knifty Knitter loom set; its about $12 there. I can make a 12 mos size sweater in about 3 hours on the looms. If you want help, lemme know!
  16. The heel was the hardest part for me. I can actually make a whole sock and it looks fine, but there is always a "hole" around the heel after Im done, for some reason. Once I sew that up, the sock looks great, but I can never get two socks to come out exactly the same; lol!!
  17. I used to know how to knit, and completely forgot! So, the looms were easier for me this time around than the needles. Im so mad at myself for not getting the hang of the knitting needles again because I find so many patterns I wanna try! Lorrie, What loom do you have? Most looms can be used for lots of different projects. I make lots of stuff using the flat panel technique on the round looms. Socks are HARD! No matter if you use needles or a loom. Ive been on a quest for years to make a nice pair of socks. Recently, Ive tried it with the blue Knifty Knitter loom. I have made 5 "test" socks in the last month, trying to get my pattern perfect, and its SO CLOSE right now. Tube socks can be done, no problems, but socks with a heel are trickier. Provo crafts has sock looms that I want to try just because they are a smaller guage than the KK looms.
  18. I love the colors of the baby one! Very pretty afghans, and you have more patience than me.
  19. Wow, those are so cool! Ive never heard of chalkboard fabric, just chalkboard paint. You rock:highfive: !
  20. Any name suggestions? Besides Tweety?
  21. Ok, found this pattern online a few days ago, and couldnt wait to go get the stuff to make it. Finally made it to Michaels last night. Couldnt find the regular yellow fun fur the pattern asked for, but this yarn was on clearance for $2 and its called Tweety Bird; how perfect! Took about an hour and a half to make. Something I would do differentely is to put some panty hose inside so the stuffing doesnt come through the knitted holes. And, the eyes would look so much better if you use stick or glue-on eyes. This is for my 2 year old, so I had to use the safety eyes and go through the fabric and its always difficult for me to get the eyes straight. And, Id probably make the beak slightly shorter next time. I have enough yarn left over to make at least one more. Anyway, he is a little cute guy, isnt he?!!
  22. OMG, Angelique! I love it; who's it for:p ?
  23. I have a 4 oz bottle of SW Cabernet that, to me, smells dead-on both OOB and in a candle! If you want me to send it to you, PM me. ~Linaya
  24. Sharyl, I LOVE that 3rd one; so very pretty! Im so jealous of the area you live in:p !
