  1. Ahsoy, when you say to continue melting on low for 3-5 minutes, how much SB are you melting? I'm trying to guage how long to hold it at a low temp. I would love to find a way to keep grainiess away! It disappointed me when I made this into a lotion bar, it developed grains. The lip balm did not. Leads me to think the cool down is playing a part...
  2. Ahhh, I think they are really cute! Maybe do a double pour. The top being clear and just enough to cover the tile. Or the reverse, a colored thin base, with the tile then a thicker top clear layer. Maybe a soap on a rope with the rope attatched near the tile in the middle. Hidden Treasures!

    Oily top

I've had that happen. If it's just a small spot and not an entire layer 1/2" or so, my guess is it'll absorb in. What was your Superfat %? Might have been a little high?
  4. Those are beautiful! I wonder if you could attach a magnet to the back. Put it on the frig or desk file cabinet...Also wonder if a note could slide up and be held in the clothespin...or slide down. Maybe a dishwasher sign: clean/dirty on opposite sides of the note. The heat from the dishwasher would really release that lavendar! They're just so pretty-I'd want it to show!
  5. Those are wonderful! I love the swirls! Too bad about the teacher's off comment. Sounds like she could use a kindergartener's manner refresher lesson. You handled it very graciously and kept the focus, happily on the girls. Nice.
  6. Very pretty! They do look just like the candy bark!
  7. Oh yes, I began by adding fo ...based on ounce not pound... and did something with the decimals. I hope I was the only one. Although the soaps did come out smellicious! Added 1 ounce/10 ounce of oils. Couldn't quite figure out why my bar cost was so much higher than everyone else' bar cost.
  8. The only thing for me that explains why a color morphs is the base color of the soap mix. If yellowish, I have to add yellow to the mixture... So far, have not noted any other weird color additions.
  9. Those are beautiful! I love the textured top!
  10. Those look so amazingly like crystals! WOW!!!!
  11. Thanks so much for posting this! I have been looking for one of these. I know I saw one somewhere but could not find it. Maybe it was for candles, not B&B products. A couple things I might add... What do you like best about this product? What do you like least about this product? Would you buy this product at the price you stated? Why or why not? What type skin do you have? What, from the label, is the most important aspect of the product? What, from use of the product, is the most important effect of the product?
  12. I rarely use PKO and have never bought palm. Not because of the environmental reasons, though. I originally thought they were the same and had read coconut oil was basically the same as PKO (from the fatty acid charts, they basically are, except for PKO being a tad more moisturizing). Coconut was less costly and no shipping! So, I never bothered with either of the palms. I use many different oils and analyze the fatty acid profiles until I get the combo I am looking for...rich, cleansing, whatever it is. Safflower, sunflower, soy, canola, even corn. Lard and tallow, in the non-veggie bars. I guess I am lucky I was confused about the PKO/Palm/Coconut issue. It is sad, who doesn't love orangutans? And to think about them burning...geez.
  13. Looks great! I still have to figure out how much to add to color the soap and not the lather!
  14. Those are beautiful! I have only embossed on heavy cardstock never on fabric. What did you use to heat?
  15. I love it! It definately adds a little extra! Nice color, too.
  16. Those are really lovely! How nice to coordinate with your sister!
  17. I really like the colors. I can see them out on a patio with the bbq going and the summer sun setting!
  18. Those are beautiful! I love the frosted top look on the first one.
  19. Those are all gorgeous soaps! I really like the colors of the Ginger Mint Twist.
  20. Those look great! They look just like ...salt!
  21. I love those containers! The black lids and the labels are very attractive!
  22. That is an unbelievable piece of art!
