The cookie sheets were a success! They came out of the dishwasher like new and none of the scent was left behind.

I'll keep you posted! The sheets are sooo much cheaper than the glass dishes! I can't wait for these buggers to be done soaking tomorrow so I can run the sheets through the dishwasher. OMG I'm excited to be doing dishes. I'm getting old.

I'm making small batches now myself. I was just wondering if the cookie sheet would hold the odor in or not - I guess time will tell!

When I started making incense a few weeks ago, I was using a glass baking dish to soak them in. I wanted to make a bunch of different kinds at once so I went to the store to get more dishes, but saw some cookie sheets that were the perfect size. I bought a couple and have some sticks soaking as we speak, but I was wondering if anyone else uses cookie sheets to make incense? I'm not sure if the oils will mess up the sheets for future incense-making...?

I offer customer pickup on my site, but under the ordering info, I do say that because my business is run out of a private home, that the customer pickup option is only available for people known to my company. I've never had a problem. I have had people email me or call me and ask if they can meet me somewhere or have me deliver, and I will deliver if they are close to me. Delivering has worked out well - one woman works about 10 minutes away from me and I've delivered 4 orders to her - every time I drop off an order she orders more stuff! I also have a wholesale account that is about 15 minutes from me that I deliver to, which I like because I get to go to the shop and see my stuff and talk with the owners about how things are going. They like the personal touch and I think it makes them order more. But I would never have strangers to my house - you never know who is going to be on the other side of the door when you open it. If a customer is close by and chooses to have something shipped, I would ship it. Maybe they don't want strangers at their house either....

I agree with everyone else - if you charged them tax on the gift certificate, then they'd have to pay tax on whatever they bought too, which would mean they are being double-taxed. At least that's how I look at it.

I've been studying the different techniques for CP and HP, but the only question I've been unable to answer is: When completed, what is the difference between an HP bar of soap and a CP bar? Is there a difference or is one better than the other in any way? HP seems to be a shorter process, so I figure if there's no difference in the finished product, CP must have some advantages or something over HP. Am I wrong?

Here is a way to save yourself some time and money when testing. Instead of making one candle after another of the same scent with different wick sizes, here is what I do: 1. Make your candle without a wick and let it set overnight 2. Choose which wick you want to test first and cut a piece of about 2'' 3. With a heat gun melt the top of your candle for a few seconds 4. Take a screwdriver and make a hole about 1.5'' 5. Bend over the bottom of your wick to give it a little base so it doesn't slip all the way down the hole. 6. Put your wick into the hole you made and then use the heating tool to zap the top of the candle again to make it even. 7. Light and test as you normally would. If the wick you chose doesn't work, you can easily pull it out with pliers or scissors, and repeat steps 2-7. I hope this makes sense - if not let me know if you have any questions. I've found that this really saved me a lot of time and supplies. Happy Testing!

I was just contacted to send info about fundraising - but this one seems pretty special - it is to raise funds for an 18 year old that has been missing since the beginning of November. His parents haven't been working since he went missing and are having a hard time trying to raise money to continue their search for him. I just sent the information to the person that requested it and it's not a definate as to whether or not it's going to happen, but I thought it was really interesting. I am humbled to think that the company I started could be used to raise money to find a missing person:)

I also use them at home parties - I usually have 10% off, 15% off, any item half price, and any item free but they aren't allowed to scratch until they place their order at the party. I like that idea of being on a coupon list. I'll have to check into that too.

I came up with a simple way to get more people to my website and thought I would share it with you all. I have the scratch off stickers from Kangaroo Blue, and made up a bunch of scratch tickets for 10 or 15% off online orders. Whenever someone at one of my shows bought anything, I gave them a scratch ticket. It actually worked! One woman bought a body butter at a show, and she just ordered 3 more butters, a sugar scrub, and two candles with her scratch ticket
