  1. How much do you use per bath?
  2. I'm so excited! I ordered about 15 different colors from Starville and waited FOREVER for my order to arrive (their systems were down so the first time I ordered, it didn't process, so I had to start over). Then when my order came, of the 20 total things I ordered, only 9 came! The rest were out of stock - I hate that! So, I was very excited to see that BCN also has the gel tones maybe I'll try some of that lip balm base too since mine just doesn't work right....hmmm anything else I need.....? LOL
  3. Natures Garden has one that smells just like fresh squeezed orange juice - it's great!
  4. Thanks! I was looking at Indiana's site and saw a lot of good stuff - I've never even been there before. Are there any other must-haves from them?
  5. Does anyone know where I can get a good body safe Birthday Cake FO? :undecided
  6. I don't know where it went, but I wanted you to know that you're not crazy because I can find it anymore either! I didn't check archives, but it wasn't that long ago, was it?? :undecided
  7. I've heard a lot of talk about SFIC, but I've never tried them, don't even know what SFIC stands for :embarasse
  8. I've been using the crystal clear MP base from WSP, but was thinking about trying Stepenson's base - has anyone tried both and have an opinion?
  9. I've never used the 129, but I LOVE the 130 - it's a nice one-pour, I don't think I could ever go back to a double now! Not too many wet spots, and there aren't very many scents I had trouble wicking....I will never switch to another container wax.
  10. I only do MP, so I don't know if this would apply to CP or HP or not, but I always add some liquid glycerin to my powdered stuff to keep it from clumping.
  11. There are also certain types of wax you can get that are designed to adhere to the jar evenly and reduce wet spots. I use CBL-130 from candlewic and it drastically cut down on the wet spots - I still get one here and there, but nothing like before I used it.
  12. Thank you so much for the ideas everyone - that website is great! I can't wait to see what I can do!
  13. The lighting in my house (and outside) is never right - I have tried taking pictures in every room of my house, and they all come out horrible. I was thinking of getting a light box or a light tent to do my pix, and was wondering if anyone out there has used one. Did it help? And if you bought one, how big did you get? I've seen a tent that measures 30 x 30 x 30 for about $46 but it doesn't include the lights. I saw a lightbox that measures 20 x 20 x 20 that includes the lights and a little tripod for about $70, but that just seems small to me :undecided Just curious to see what everyone uses....
  14. Natures Garden sells wax for hand dipping.... www.naturesgardencandles.com
  15. I got an awesome MP soap book for my birthday - it has 300 recipies in it - I never knew there were so many things I could do with MP! It's called 300 handcrafted soaps by Marie Browning. I found it on Amazon and pointed DH in the right direction. I highly recommend it!
  16. Well, I finished my first chunk last night. It didn't come out too bad....I just have to work on my wicking I think. I'll burn some more tonight, but my melt pool wasn't what I was hoping it would be - perhaps it's just me though and I'm so used to my (containers) burning all the way to the edge. I have to remember that I don't want my pillars to do that! Thanks for all of the great tips - I'm always willing to listen and try different things out :highfive:
  17. Thank you so much Donita - One question though - if you only scent the overpour, does it still throw well? I thought about not scenting the chunks to be able to save time in the future (when I do more than say, oh, 1 at a time, LOL) but I wasn't sure if I'd still be able to smell it as well. Then again, maybe people still think that pillars are more for looking at than for smelling.... I can't remember what I expected from a pillar before I started making candles :embarasse Oh well, if I wasn't testing something sometime every day, then I guess I'd never be learning! Thanks again!
  18. Thanks Snap - I can't wait to do my overpour tonight. I scented my chunks too
  19. I was just thinking the same thing - I climb the walls waiting for an order from Peaks, but when I order from Candlewic or Candles and Supplies, I seem to have the order as soon as I hit the submit button LOL.
  20. Hi everyone, I decided to play around and make my first chunk pillar last night (I only made the chunks last night, and I am going to do my overpour tonight). I used 4625 to make the chunks and since that is the only pillar wax I have, I am going to use it for the overpour too. I don't have a lot of the 4625 left so I started researching other pillar waxes to see what's what and now I have a headache . So, I am looking for someone who has used any or all of the following to see how it worked for you....: Hassle Free IGI 1250 IGI 1218 IGI 4625 CBL 141 What I am looking for right now, is to make chunk pillars with brightly colored chunks, and a nice white overpour. Eventually, I will also want an overpour that is perfectly (or as close to it) clear. Can anyone share their opinions? TIA
  21. I had the same problem with some of my scents (a lot of my scents) when I used the wicks I got from Candlewic. I ordered a bunch of different sizes from Candle Science, and those worked fine for the ones that I couldn't get to stay lit with a Candlewic wick. Just a side note - when I first ordered from Candle Science, I ordered 100 of each of the 7 sizes. The ones I use most frequently are the 25,28,and 31. The smaller sizes just didn't work at all for my para/soy blend. Just thought I would throw that in there incase someone didn't want to buy all 7 sizes.
  22. I know - I hated it when I was a kid lol
  23. Has anyone seen Old Spice FO around? I thought I saw it, but now I can't remember where? My dad would be so happy.....
  24. I started to do MP a while ago, but got bored because I didn't realize until just now all of the cool things I could really do with it and add to it. So I went to Amazon and found 4 MP books that I want and added them to my birthday wishlist. DH always gets me what I want because I never really ask for much, so I am so excited! I can't wait to make super soap!! And I was just looking around Brambleberry and they have some of the coolest molds - I love the one with the heart stencil that you can use the soap paint to color in...has anyone ever used that mold? And soap on a rope! I always used to get that for my dad when I was little, but I can never find it anymore - so I can make it! Woohoo! As you can see, I don't get out much and it takes very little to make me happy......
