What kind of wax, wick, fragrance. Any dyes? What type and size of container? How long did you let the candles cure before testing?
chandling is as much a science as it is art. Quite a few variables work together to create a perfect burn.
Alissa,
I hear your frustrations but TallTayl is correct. There are so many frustrating variables with candles that it can make you crazy. If you list what you use, perhaps we can jump in and help out.

as always, your a gem thank you for responding back- I really do appreciate that italian gelato was already in my cart before I read this lol !
Always glad to suck people into my fragrance oil obsession. What can I say about the Gelato except that great minds think alike!

Thank you! I need to place orders with WSP and Flaming, so naturally these are from neither
Isn't that just the way it is sometimes! Sorry

Looking through the earlier posts, it seems that the pink melon and the watermelon that many of you were referring to are not the same. I believe someone on
this post mentioned that the has been discontinued, is this correct ?
Moonstar, I just looked and sure enough the juicy watermelon is no longer there. I've not used the pink melon so I can't comment on that. I love their juicy bits of orange (the best in my opinion), litsea cubeba, green tea, aloe and water lily, and italian gelato just to name a few. I'm in the process of trying some new scents as well including, caribbean getaway, bahama breeze, and lychee.

Since mine was discontinued (Eco Advanced). Which parasoys are you using @WaxingPoetic and @soshiegirl?
I like Nature's Garden, Just Scent's, Maple Street, and Rustic Escentuals. All perform just wonderfully.

What about the marshmallows from Daystar. She has 2- Marshmallow Fluff + her original Marshmallow . Have you tried either of them. If so, how are they ?
Im having a hard time choosing which one to order. I can't see there being that much difference between the 2 of them lol !
Moonstar,
I use two marshamallows - Daystar Marshmallow the Original and Aztec Toasted Marshmallow. DS Original is a soap silly scent and it's divine. I have not tried her version but Stacey has an excellent nose so you know it will be good. They both are good on their own and are excellent blenders.

This is on my list for my next JS order ! Mind telling what kind of wax you use ? I'm assuming that it has good throw and smells pretty spot on ?
I'm loving their Blue Cotton Candy lately, want to add a regular
I use a parasoy mix. The throw is great and it smells delicious. I can send you a sample, if you'd like. I love it. They also have a good cotton candy frosting too. I want to try their blue cotton candy as I've heard great things about it.

Oh no! Have you tried JS Cotton Candy stronger? Not sure how it would do in soaps but it's delicious in wax.

Their prices are so reasonable. Do you use their FOs regularly?
I do have several of their oils. They are nice and strong. Their juicy bits of orange is another favorite!

I think I read that Frgrance Buddy duped Tennessees True Lavender. Now that lavender was really really nice.
Trappeur
Agreed. Tennessee's lavender is awesome. I sure hope Fragrance Buddy duped it and did a good job.

Isn't this the same creme brulee? It's hard to keep up with all the closings.

Did you at least like the oils you ordered?

I hate their caps on 8oz + bottles
They are nearly impossible to open, child safety type
Right?!? I feel like I'm working out trying to get the caps off. Those caps aren't just child proof but semi adult proof.

I have bought 5 FO's from them and have really liked 4 of them: Caribbean Escape (except they spell Caribbean wrong which bugs me. ), Jamaica Me Crazy, Lemon Pound Cake, and Sea Witch.
I haven't used This Old House yet....not sure about that one.
GailC - This Old House smells just like Tennessee's This Old Home. Although, it may not appeal to everyone, I've got some customers who just love it.
-
Some scents I've enjoyed include: Beach type, Chocolate Chip Brownies MW type, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Salted Caramel, Fall Festival MW type, Citrus Shower, Cinnamon Sugared Donut, Citrus Bath, Arabie, Vanilla Ice Cream, Violet Shower, Sugar Cookie, This Old House, and Warm Welcome.

Besides the ones you mentioned, her Birthday Cake, Christmas Wish, Wood Sage and Sea Salt, Cinnamon Super Red Hot, Cherry Marshmallow, Totally Scrumptious, Christmas Splendor, Southern Style Vanilla, Cotton Candy Stronger, Red Mac Apple, Vanilla Buttercreme Crunch, and Pear are pretty darn good too.

Have you tried the lilac & linen
or the lilac lemonade?
Moonstar,
I had samples of them and remember sniffing them and liking them but had something similar to it already (made myself). I don't have one Backwoods oil that hasn't thrown like an outfielder in the world series.

I can send you an ounce of the Buttery croissant as I don't have any more of the WSP scent on hand. Just PM me if interested!

It's now this, and they don't have it. http://www.candlemakingsupplies.net/displayScents.php?category_id=220
But, WSP and Backwoods are promising!
Glasllyn - WSP is a dead ringer for a baking bread scent. Backwoods has a more prominent butter note adding that scent of creaminess to it. Both are wonderful and worth giving a try.

Well, it sounds like a good description. Where did you get it?
I think from them. I remember I ordered several of their oils and when their site was down, had asked for the descriptions and he sent them to me.

Does anyone happen to have the description of Tennessee Candle Supply's Tangerine Dream? I like to post the description of a candle's scent on my facebook page. I've been looking on Fragrance Oil finder and copying the descriptions of the FO's I bought from Tennessee since they closed, but Tangerine Dream isn't listed.
Is it straight tangerine or are there other elements? My nose can't tell.
Is this their description? Zesty citrus fruits including tangerines, mandarin, bergamot, and orange.

Sometimes soy can be a prickly product to work with. What temps are you using when you add fragrance?
