  1. Trappeur - the CS Sunwashed Linen is a little sharp and has that note of hot linen straight from the dryer (if you know what I mean).  Cotton Bouquet is a really lovely straight forward clean cotton scent.  Either one will do the job.  If you want a sample to play with, let me know.

  2. And away we go........

  3. How about Millcreek's Arctic Air?  Here's the description:  Brilliant fragrance notes of eucalyptus, spearmint, wild rose and dew fresh ferns leading to snow pines, blue jasmine magnolia and white lilies finishing with a base of white musk, balsam and sandalwood.  Screams "snow" type without the heavy tree notes.

  4. I'm a little obsessed with Gingerbread and like everyone else have tested almost all of them.  Among my favorites are:

Rustic Escentuals Gingerbread - A milder and sweeter version of gingerbread with mild spice notes

JS Gingerbread House type - I really like this one too.  It's a dupe of Gold Canyon.  Right amount of spice.  Good throw.

MMS Gingerbread and Spice - winner, winner, chicken dinner.  Really good and strong.

NG Gingerbread - Very spicy and strong.  I sometimes think I detect a slightly bitter note to it but it may just be in my head

BW Gingerbread Latte - as Jennyjo said, it's really good.  It's always a top seller in Fall and Winter for me.

ICS Gingerbread (Snowtops version) - My favorite one of them all.  Nice and strong.

I want to say there are a few more that I'm not mentioning but am having a brain fart.  When I think of them, I'll post again.

  5. Finding a great cheesecake, marshmallow and butter rum is like finding a unicorn laying down next to a pot of gold with the power ball numbers  flashing over it's head.  I feel your pain. :) . As for cheesecake, Just Scent had one that wasn't bad, I want to say it was New York Style cheesecake.  My favorite marshmallow comes from Daystar, its called Marshmallow the Original (from Soap Silly); I could drink the bottle on this one.  No toasted notes just sticky sweet goodness.  Aztec has a toasted marshmallow, which I like, but I get no toasted notes at all.  As for butter rum, you got me on that one.  If you find one that smells like the lifesaver, please let me know.  I wish you good luck on your search.

  7. The following scents from AromaHaven have been super popular for me during the holidays.

Christmas Bliss - FES BESTSELLER!! All the holiday flowers and the softest whisper of spices, with bottom notes of balsam and pine. Customer requests for this have been overwhelming, you all remember when FES carried it, and loved it year round! This is such a gorgeous, complex blend of greenery and flower essences. This candle fragrance oil is also a fantastic soap fragrance oil and works well as a year-round scent.

Christmas Fantasy - Smells like a combination of ribbon candy, spiced tea, a hint of cinnamon, and a flower shop at Christmas.

Well, my order from WSP arrived and I must say I'm very very impressed with these scents.

Has anyone used any of these and I was wondering what your reviews state about them?

Marshmallow:    I must say this is the most truest ooey gooey sweet marshmallow I have ever received as of this date.

Apple Balsam Pine:    Love, love love it.  You smell the pine and apple with more sweetness in there also.  I can't wait for this cure to get done.

Everyone needs thi scent and especially with the holidays coming up.

Santa's Pipe:      Wow, is this ever different than all the tobacco products out there.   You sure smell the sweetness in it and pickup the cherry and the

                                 pipe tobacco....

I'm really loving this one...sooooo different.

Fudge Brownie:   Smells just like Tennessee's.  Been looking for a replacement and maybe this could be it.

    Trappeur

Trappeur - Have you tried Daystars Marshmallow the Original from Soap Silly....it's amazing.  No toasted notes but somehow smells like a bag of marshmallows!  I also found that Aztec Toasted Marshmallow is great too (but no toasted notes).  Thanks for the Brownie suggestion, ever since Tennessee closed their doors, I've been on a hunt for a brownie replacement.  Glad you found some good ones!

Ok Soshiegirl!  Your recommendations have always been spot on and they have all been winners for me when you recommended them....Ok, I will do that, as the throw is excellent.  Would that be from Daystar the smoothie you suggest?

    Trappeur

You are too kind Trappeur.  The smoothie I tend to use when blending is from ICS.  By itself, it's not a super strong scent but it does make a nice blender.  Another one you might consider using is vanilla bean from Just Scent or Vanilla Ice Cream from Fragrance Buddy.  If you want me to send you some samples of each, just let me know.  I can throw them in the mail tomorrow and you can test them to see what might work for you.  Just let me know!

I did a side by side testing these past couple of days with 2 orange creamsicles....

Using 464 wax and cd wicks this is my findings.

    Fragrance Buddy:   Creamsicle

I didn't find this to be too strong a thrower.  Wasn't impressed.

    Candle Source:  Orange Dreamsicle

Although this was a pretty good thrower, I didn't find it to be what I was looking for.  I didn't pickup the creaminess of the vanilla.  It was sort of tangy and almost detected a little bitterness.

I'm going to test Maple Streets Dreamsicle now...

I've been doing some blending and I still need to tweak some.

I just got some orange sherbert from Flaming.  Think I'm going to try blending that with vanilla.

    Trappeur

Hey Trapp - you might want to try adding a titch of vanilla smoothie to the candle source orange dreamsicle and see what you think.

OMG I just went on their web-site - it is VERY outdated. Theres not even a bar to type in what your looking for. The 2 companies that I find

have the easiest site to navigate are WSP and Brambelberry . If I have to try too hard to find anything I just move on. Very annoying. Another

thing that bugs me is The Candle Makers Store ... They don't even include any descriptions or at a minimum notes. So dumb.

Moonstar, I totally agree.  When I asked the Candle Makers Store why they didn't have descriptions, I was told they felt the scent name was description enough; this was also a very long time ago.  Alas, I do not purchase from them - I hope I'm not missing too many great scents ;).

So you say you like their orange creamsicle Soshie?  This is a huge seller for me and I have been using FBuddy but I would like to persue further and find a great ultimate one.  You've made recommendations to me in the past and they were great like that Vanilla Chardonnay so I'm going to order a small bottle of it.  Have you tried other Orange Creamsicles and do you find this one to be the best?  Thanks.

    Trappeur

    Trappeur,

I'm glad that scent worked out for you.  As for creamsicle, it's my favorite.  I've tried all different kinds of dreamsicles, orange vanillas, etc.   It smells just like the ice cream.  It's more rich than just an orange vanilla scent.  There's a creaminess to it.

OMG these sound awesome ! iDo you think the buttercream frosting + brown sugar are too sweet for wax melts. Im not good at blending so I was thinking

as a single FO... what do you think ? I also wanna try her vanilla delicious , Im wondering if its basically vanilla or much more going on ?

Moonstar - definitely try that combination because it sounds delicious.  I just had a cupcake with brown sugar butter cream icing and it was delicious, so yes do try it!  But I digress.  I keep a lb of vanilla delicious for myself and love it; in my opinion vanilla delicious smells like vanilla sugar wafers.  It's wonderful.

If I remember correctly you use FB sugar cookie royale right ? I believe Olde Glory + TT mentioned she uses sugar cookie royale but from Pure Fragrance oils.

Wonder if its the same as the one from FB ? Candy also raves about the lavender and OMH from PFO as well but they're out in CA so shipping is high

Im going to try the lavender + herbs and Original Clairol Herbal Essence from sweet cakes, Ive heard they are both very good. I just love all the shampoos

from the 70s, they smelled so darn good and worked so well. I also love Faberge wheat germ + honey shampoo, remember that one lol !  Revlon Flex balsam

and Gee your Hair Smells Terrific were good ones too .lol lol !!!!!

Loved growing up in the 70s!  You are correct, we had the best smelling shampoos ever.  Another good sugar cookie is from Nurture Soap.  It's has the sweet buttery cookie notes but it's not as heavy smelling as the sugar cookie royale.

They have 2 sugar cookies on Northstar, a regular + a Ultra Strong one. I hate when they do that lol ! Which do you use ? Thanks :)

I just checked the bottle and it's the regular; that's all they offered at the time.
