These are new FO 's ? So I take it that no one has tried Apple Cider Donut ? Does anyone know how their Sugared Vanilla Shortbread
compares to ICS ? ICS is pretty good but I was just wondering about Candlewic's lol !
Moonstar, I only use Candlewic's version...super strong! I'll let you know about the apple cider donut when I get it in.

I saw this last night and went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered the new FO's except I forgot to get smoke ginger and got 8 ounces of the others because they sounded so good!
Don't feel bad Belinda, I ordered 16 ounces of each for the same reason! I hope we like them!

Daystar has an excellent dupe of VBN! It's crazy to think about how long that scent has been around and it's still popular. Just scent also has a VBN that's supposedly great but haven't tried it.

I haven't been able to find a straight Donut scent that I like. I thought RE's Glazed Donut smelled like Warm Vanilla Sugar. What if you were to play around with a pancake or pie crust scent as the bakery note and then add fruits, syrups, chocolate, etc for the topping or filling? Not sure it would give you what you want but it's a place to start. Good luck!!!

I agree with Belinda about Pumpkin Crunch Cake. It's a nice, sweet, popular pumpkin scent. You can't go wrong with it.

I really love Enchanted Lites Pumpkin Pie, it smells like the real deal. I can send you a sniffie, if you'd like. Just PM me!

How about JS Lemonade and ICS Blueberry? You might also try Lemon Sugar (sweeter) or Lemon Slices (for a sharper cleaner lemon).

I have not been able to get AromaHaven's Butter Rum Cappuccino to throw well. I LOVE the scent as well! Are you using soy? I'm using 464 with Premier 790 or 785 wicks, in the 5 1/4" tall pint jars.
Goldie
Hey Goldie,
I use a paraffin soy mix and only make tarts/melts. Keep playing with the fragrance oil % because it will be worth it.
p.s. - don't you hate when you love an oil and it just doesn't work right off the bat?

I love coffee scents and IMO Indiana Candle Supply and Just Scent have some of the best. Nice range of coffee scents as well. My all time favorite is JS Caramel Cinnamon Latte. Also Aroma Haven's Butter Rum Cappuccino is to die for.

I too love Cajun's cherry pie scent but it is not gel wax safe nor is NG's Cherry Crumb Pie. Baked Apples (formerly Snowtop) from ICS is amazing and I like to a little pie crust to it; this is gel safe. I also love KY's Homemade Apple pie but this is not gel safe. As for blueberry, I like Community Candle's Blueberry Pie but it doesn't state if it's gel safe or not. Aztec's Blueberry Cobbler is gel safe. Good luck!

WSPs Iced Tea Twist is wonderful. Can't go wrong with that one. Forgot to mention NG's Boston Tea Party (another keeper)

Chevril,
I've got some Gummy Bears oil here, if you want to try it out, shoot me a PM and I'll send an ounce along for you to play with.

Test scents you know and like or love. Sticking with scents you know how they smell will help you in the long run. Good luck and have fun!

Just Scent's and Aroma Haven's Birthday Cake. Both are exact dupes of Soap and Candles Birthday cake which is the best in my opinion. It's different from AH's Birthday Cake (KY).

Fragrance Buddy's This Old Home is the same as Tennessee's This Old House.

Oh that would be great Soshiegirl. I'll pm you with my address.
Thanks so much!

Soshie, I just got your 2 oils last night.....Oh, they are wonderful. I love the vanilla champagne. Are they from Natures Garden. I want to order the vanilla champagne......Thankyou so very much! You saved me on this new job.
Trappeur
Yay! So glad they arrived safely and yes they are both from Natures Garden. Sorry I forgot to pass that info along when I packed up the oils.

I just remembered Elements Buttercream formerly from Bluegrass. Really thick oil but it smells wonderful.

I have that scent and no, it does not smell like red mac apple. I use the Mac Apple from JS and love it. Very strong and smells just like a red delicious apple to me.
JS Mac Apple is wonderful!

To me, Dried Apple Wreath doesn't smell like pure Mac Apple. It has a woodsy type back note to it (like potpourri). Having said that, it is a truly wonderful Fall type scent.

Since you can't get your hands on Tennessee's version, I found Daystar's Vanilla Bean Cookies to be identical.
-
I second Peak's sea salt and cocoa bean - you kinda want it to be something you can eat
Chocolate cake from Candle Source

Trappeur,
Their vanilla champagne and sugar champagne are quite nice. If you would like some sniffies of both just PM me.
Tchau!

I never tried this one. The description of it reads its like red hot cinnamon candies. Wondering if it is as strong as Tradewinds. Will have to give it a try some day.
Candybee,
You need not fear, it smells nothing like red hots. Just a great throwing cinnamon.

Sweetcakes lilac is the truest to my nose!
The best out there. Just make sure to watch your %, you might need to go down until you find what suits you. Trust me, I put in my normal % and I smelled it in my couch pillows for months!!!
