  1. I've done that and then sold them as specialty layered votives!

Since then I put masking tape on the handle of my pour pot and write the scent on it. I also put a piece of tape on the counter in front of the votives with the scent. When I do jars I put tape on each jar when I wick them.

I poured 2 cases yesterday...one of creme brulee and one of vanilla sugar cookies. I only marked the boxes so I've got to hurry up and put labels on them before two get swapped out by accident (MIL from hell has been known to do this)

  2. You may never get a perfect dupe....unless you luck out and happen to go to the company that actually makes it for Peake's. You'll most likely get a very good representation but not a true exact match. So you'll be paying all that money and not get the exact one you like. For that basically small amount it's not worth not getting the exact one you like.

  3. Ahhh Yes I have the same problem. My computer guy says he's never seen that kind of residue on the inside of a computer except mine. I didn't notice it till one day I went to wipe down a light switchplate and the sponge wiped the wall too...I was astonished...well once I did that then I just started wiping and then you can't stop...well I did and now you can see where I haven't wiped. This is creepy cause I even use an air purifier or at least that's the wording I paid for...obviously it's not that good!!!!!!

  4. I used to do these and some for Mardi Gras, Christmas etc and I marked off on the inside of the votive with a dot of sharpie. Never came off on the candle. I quit making votives except for special orders...you've got my creative juices flowing and maybe I'll do some Christmas ones and get ahead of the game with some Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day ones.

Yours are gorgeous. Lines are very crisp and clean. Love the tarts!

  5. hay, whatever makes money for a great cause. I've always had great admiration for fire fighters (volunteer or paid) and police. I've had both professions in my family and when my son joined the volunteer fire dept we have here I was scared to death but couldn't have been prouder. Tell your husband I said thank you...even tho I don't live in your community I appreciate everyone in that profession.

The other day when we saw the USS New York we also got to show the boys the country's oldest still operating volunteer fire dept...Davy Crocket Fire Station in Gretna....they even still have the original old steam fire truck (Ole Smokie) they bring out of the museum for parades.

  6. Welcome...word of advice. If you find a good piece of advice...print it. tutorials etc. You'll look for it one day and not be able to find it. Make you a 3 ring binder for these little tid bits of info.

Never used candle chem but if you're that close drop on by to them and maybe buy a 10# slab of wax to try.

  7. It's poured but not burnt yet. While pouring it I would tell it's not one of my favs. Can't quite put my finger on why. I quite preferred the MMS for the Twilight scents.

Now Werewolf that's a different story....very sexy and manly.

Witching hour is very heavily spicy so can't burn that one around DH.

I had a request for cashmere so I poured NG's and it's very very beautiful. Never smelt the original so don't know how close this is. I have JS's also and it's totally different but I don't know which one is supposed to be a dupe or what the perfume smells like....I have to get to the mall and so some sniffing.

  8. I don't use this wax either but I agree with Stella on the repour steps. I tried hex jars years ago and had problems with sink holes (especially if I tried to pour too close to the neck) ...I would do the heat gun trick but be very careful to not burn your wick. You can also do a 2nd pour and then hit with a heatgun so you don't have a chatter line.

  9. I don't think so but also realize with tealights that flame will only get farther away very fast. I also only use electric....to me tealights don't last long enough and are too inconsistent in heat distribution. But it is very cute!

  10. Candles and supplies does have the clear ones but the face doesn't show up.The orange jars with black features were nice.Just when you find someone who wants something it is no longer available.:sad2:

I had some of these and they're a snap to paint the eyes and mouth in black and then you pour orange wax. They looked great.

  11. I'm with you Trappeur....don't get his site but don't speak Spanish either. Maybe he's some kind of celeb in Rio or something!!!! Hate to see what he would charge for those soaps! I'd never want to use them.
