  1. WOW! :highfive: That sounds fabulous! A great payoff for your hard work. Congratulations!
  2. Put this to rest in the mold this afternoon. I really like this fragrance! Fussed a bit too much and it thickened on me before I could swirl the light green in. So I messed about with a thin spatula for a random effect. Thanks for looking!
  3. Beautiful soaps, Hibiscus! :highfive: I love the shot of the bottom of the slab! Looks like layers of sheer organza overlapped. I love in the pot swirls. :smiley2: Makes me wish sometimes when that happens that the bottom was the top!
  4. It smells FABULOUS! But it moves pretty quick; could be my recipe though. I used my rice bran oil recipe with RBO, coconut, palm, and mango butter. No stick stirrer required with this FO. I think this recipe moves faster than my olive oil recipes. Next time I'll let the oils cool completely! It's heating up pretty good at the moment - won't be able to cover it until it cools a bit. I just had to post because the smell coming off it is WONDERFUL! Hope it sticks. and...it's still on SALE if anybody wants to give it a go for the fall/winter season.
  5. Sorry...:embarasse Our little server just locked up. I had to manually reboot the thing! It should be working now for you.
  6. Congratulations on your first batches! It will be interesting to see what the Brown Sugar and Fig looks like to help figure out what may have gone wrong for you. Every soaper gains valuable experience through batches that didn't quite work. :undecided Figuring out what might have gone wrong is all part learning to soap better. I always learn something when I do a new recipe or coloring attempt. Keep up the experimentation!
  7. I like the look you achieved! :highfive:
  8. Yes, I thought about that. I've made a personal decision not to do shows for now. So there's no need for one-to-one encounters with each bar; my online customers already see the bars on my site. I try for each bar to be consistent with the others, so there's no surprise when their order arrives. If I had a storefront I'd love to box the bars like this and leave an unboxed but banded bar at the front of the cue for customers to see & smell & feel. What I like about this packaging is that they arrive at the customer all ready to give as a gift! Easier for the buyer. :smiley2: Plus, they can be sure nobody has been pawing over their particular soap (which is one of my pet peeves!) Thanks for your remarks, everybody!
  9. Only one soap per box. :smiley2: I'm still thinking about a different way to package two bars. Still looking around and deciding what to do. Thanks for your kind remarks!
  10. :highfive: Your bars look great all cut and set out together. Great strong coloring!
  11. Thanks for the compliments and questions! The tab top box dimensions are: Length - three and one half inches, Width - one and three fourths inches, and Depth - 5 inches. Correction on the case price - they are 33 cents each. :embarasse Sorry about this error - looked at the info too quick. Bars made in the Misty Creek slab molds fit inside just great!
  12. I've been tinkering around with boxing my soaps, but haven't liked traditional soap boxes. So I found a little tab top favor box on Paper Mart that fits one of my bars like a glove (it also fits a couple of ounce serum dispensers or atomizers). It would look better with a thinner ribbon, but that is what I had on hand. Took the zinnia picture this morning that's on the "name badge" insert I glued on the box. I'm pretty happy with how it looks! Plenty of room on the bottom or back for an ingredient label. Thanks for checking it out! P.S. Only 30 cents per box (for this size) if bought by the case!
  13. Great looking soaps! Love your layers. Happy Soaping Anniversary!
  14. Awesome development! Congratulations! :highfive:
  15. Not too busy at all! Very nice!
  16. Your new stamp looks very upscale on your soaps! Beautiful. :smiley2:
  17. Babassu is NICE! I only had to use it once to tell a difference in the quality of the resulting soap. I use it in combination with coconut and my other oils and butters. I love it.
  18. I've never used PKO in any soaps. Just been using palm - I really like the "no-stir" palm from Columbus Foods! It's very much easier to work with than the regular palm. One of these days I might give PKO a go, but haven't had the need for it yet. I don't use any animal fats in my soaps. Just a personal preference plus a business decision. Made one batch with lard early on in my soaping and didn't like it. Though I have used some marvelous bars made with lard by soapers here!
  19. Beautiful subtle swirls you got there! :highfive:
  20. Very cool looking bars! :highfive:
  21. Your soap looks wonderful! Looking forward to seeing it cut. :smiley2:
  22. Have you tried SweetCakes Sandalwood FO? Strong and smells much like the real thing. A great mixer. HTH :smiley2:
  23. WOWZER! :highfive: Fabulous bars! I love their 50's formica countertop look and the scent sounds fantastic too! Love them!
  24. Your first batch is looking great! :highfive: I see an endless soaping addiction in your future!
