  1. Products look very inviting! Love the colors.
  2. Beautiful M&P swirls and lovely bars...all of them!
  3. Very attractive soaps! All are appealing, but I really like the two-tone look of your Purely Herbal bar (even if your colorant turned brown.) Fruit Cake bar is showy too! Can't wait for your next Soap Train to pull into the station.
  4. Thanks for the encouragement, ladies!
  5. I'm happy to hear your long foal watch is coming to an end! Your co-workers will be very happy to receive your cute packages of goodies. (Great wall color behind your display of soaps!)
  6. Thanks for your thoughtful comments everyone! I see what you mean about the placement of the label. I'll try moving them down a bit. Perhaps that would help the bottle not look too bare on the front. I'm trying use labels I have in order to avoid purchasing yet another size label! - Or having a front, then a back label. (I don't like seeing the ingredient listing on the front of the label.) I see the weight on the left bottle is too close to the bottom edge as well.
  7. Thanks, LaVida! What I was curious to know about these labels was this: If you saw this product in a store would the label draw you to it, or send you running in the opposite direction? Also, sometimes the objective observer can see and note something that I couldn't in the label (errors, font issues, etc.) I do appreciate your comment. (About the whipped soap. It has gone the way of the dinosaurs. While I enjoyed making it, almost all of the people who used it commented that they loved the feel of the lather and the lightness of the bar...BUT also made the observation that the bar disintegrates too soon. So, I stopped making it since I don't really market to children at all and I think that is the niche for this item (at least around here.) It is a cool novelty and I really did enjoy playing with it, but it doesn't sell for me. I still have some bars I saved, but the majority of it got the old heave-ho!)
  8. Since I've been experimenting with creams, and now lotions, in my summer drive to get a handle on this particular product, I've had to come up with a label for the 8 ounce bottles I had on hand "forever". Here's a couple lotions made from the same recipe but subbing oils. So far I like the lotion's feel. Raspberry seed oil feels silky! I've pretty much decided to stick with the flower theme for my label pics for continuity's sake. I don't have a goal of having the flower match the scent; I'd like them to provide a decent background for the labels with a little variety. Here's a quick picture of the two I've completed that are ready to go to testers. I'm looking for feedback on these labels. I know the picture is :embarasse. Contact info and ingredients are on the left and right edges of the labels. Thanks for looking!
  9. Great looking soaps! I hope tonight is THE NIGHT so you can finally get some rest!
  10. Tastefully simple label that goes well with the closure you've selected for your bottle! I like it.
  11. You've made a lovely array of soaps! Very pretty & great scents too!
  12. Thanks! So far they are, but I don't have a large selection of blossoms since my garden is quite small! :embarasse I will need to expand my plantings next year.
  13. Cute display! It would be fun to browse.
  14. Thanks! Trying the first couple of recipes is exciting, but I know it's just the very tip-top of the iceberg of this process! I'm doing some reading on the HLB system...and re-reading....and re-reading! :embarasse I've got a whole lot of learning to do. But, that's the fun of it! See, now I'm thinking about your stearic acid p.s., Smacky!
  15. Thanks for your kind remarks! As for testing, my goal next week is to burn up the phone lines trying to find a local lab that can do this for me. I'd really like to get the lotion tested locally if possible. I live close to a large town with a big drug company and university too. There should be something available. I will update if I meet with success!
  16. Nice soaps! Your carrots and "cream" sounds especially soothing...
  17. Your soapies look lovely! Scratch 'n Sniff is definately needed! I've not soaped any food yet! Your Pumpkin soap sounds & looks wonderful.... Soaping food isn't addictive, is it?
  18. All those little hands on the plate are slightly creepy! A single one isn't so bad. I think kids would think they are very cool.
  19. Macadamia & Honey Lotion made this week. I had a partial jar so I put it, and the Body Bliss Butter cream in my black car that sat out in sweltering heat and sun for two days. The butter kept its body and slightly softened. The lotion softened back to a total liquid state. When I took it out of the car I could swirl it around just like coffee creamer! But...after one hour in the house at about 73 degrees F it cooled back into its cream state. I stuck my finger in it to check it out! Here's a picture: No separation! Very cool thing. This recipe is a keeper. Once my testers are done with it, and I have it tested professionally, I'll be making this one to sell (if all goes well.) Been slathering it on since I made it and I like it very much! Here's my label for it: Thanks for looking! :smiley2:
  20. I used the citric acid solution. I don't like the smell of vinegar of any sort! And I stick blended it good over an ice water bath until it got good and thick. I will have the lotions tested at a facility if there is one relatively close. If not I've got the site that firegirl posted to fall back on. :smiley2: ....yes, Hibiscus, I am doomed to sleepless nights and lotion daydreams! You were right!
  21. Thank you for your comments everyone! :smiley2: Fellow B&B crafters who are willing to share recipes are fabulous. There is so much information to absorb! I do worry about safely selling lotions and creams, that's why I've been selling a lotion base that is commercially formulated and preserved. I'll feel lucky if I can create a product that is stable, safe, and beneficial for the user. If I can, I'll sell it....If not I'll still make it for myself and family. The lotion addiction IS like the soaping addiction... It starts with "I wonder what the result would be if I....." and then you're totally obsessed!
  22. I'll give Publisher a third "thumbs-up"! Good Luck with your brochure. :smiley2:
