  1. Thanks Stella...just wanted to make sure i was in the ball park.
  2. I am getting ready to test a new small jar. It is a 6oz gazebo jar...it is 2.5 inches wide.....would a CD 10 be a good starting wick for testing??
  3. I have not used it either...for the main reasons of having to heat the jars and doing a repour is necessary....I wont do either one. I LOVED the KY125 when I used it. I use the KY tart wax and I LOVE IT!!
  4. I am in the process of building my site with designer 218 and have NO complaints...
  5. 6006 likes wide containers....you will get the sink hole with 6006 everytime with 9oz hex jars. I never had frosting when I used the 6006 ever...always had smooth tops heatgun or not.
  6. I have not blended their natural waxes....I used to use KY125 till I moved west and shipping was too high. That alone is too soft for tarts IMO. I LOVE the KY tart wax and use it for my tarts...but I am not all soy anymore. I guess you could get some samples and try it and see how it goes.....maybe vickie knows she is always helpful....she owns KY and has talked to me several times and helped me out.
  7. KY's tart wax has paraffin in it. If it aint broke dont fix it....
  8. I was using AAA but the lye guy is cheaper....does he charge HAZMAT fees in shipping?? I hope to find a local source soon.
  9. I use a presto pot and have for years...I dont turn it above 200 and when the wax is melted I turn it down to warm...usually I only melt what I need for that batch so I never have any left in the pot....that is gonna change for me...I am opening a shop. Presto pots are only about 23.00 at wal-mart. Make sure it is a PRESTO POT and NOT a deep fryer
  10. check out starrville...I am not sure about the script but they had the best prices I could find with shipping.
  11. First off there is no flippen way I could live in AZ without AC. I really dont have a good answer to your question...maybe add more palm...but that may change your wicking. We have been up in NM in a "cooler" climate this summer but last summer was spent in AZ and I didnt make candles in the summer...June July Aug months.
  12. maybe use some soy piller wax in with your regular soy....or use one of the para-soy tart blends???
  13. I put it in soy too and have sold it out...it is an awesome scent!!
  14. I get my tins from papermart and have had NO rusting so far....
  15. I am interested too...please list the suppliers when you can.
  16. I use a 464/paraffin mix in my tins and use a CD12 in there. So with 100% 464 the ECO 14 may be a good pick. I would get the size up and down from that too... I wick one size DOWN from CS's wick guide. I dont go for full MP test burns on first few burns with the tins cause they always catch up in the end.
  17. I usually pour between 140 and 150 closer to 140but sometimes I get antsy and dont wait. sometimes I get dimples but not often. Even when I do they are not bad and no one cares anyway. my customers just LOVE the melts!!
  18. Watch for co-ops here too...that is where i stock up on mine.
  19. I used the portion cups too...I liked them. I now use the clamshells and am going to get some silicone molds for the more festive ones for holidays...we will see how they do.
  20. No I was thinking the ones like greenbeans come it...and soup. I will check that site out though...thanks.
  21. KY's is VERY strong so you can cut back. I use her KY and 2 other scents to make my own spiced cranberry and it did real good in my palm candle tester.
  22. I saw that....oh well...I will come up with something else.
