  1. Since they are in Oregon now...i may switch from KY to this wax...anyone know much about it....the website dont say much about their waxes....
  2. Bend Oregon....off to see what kind of wax they have!!
  3. If you search back several years you can find the test thread when we tested the 464...3 or 4 years ago or so...anyway the big thing was it could be poured hotter than most all the soy waxes on the market at that time. It was formulated to be able to pour hotter. I remember when i tested this wax for Jason and I poured right around 150. Last night I poured 3 8oz sq mason jar testers and I poured those at 155 with no color added and they turned out beautiful...smooth and no holes by the wick...I will test burn these to find the wick i like best and go from there. Strange how much nicer they looked in the mason jar compared to the 9oz hex.
  4. I have a CDN 12 wick in my 9oz hex jar I am testing Honeysuckle/Jasmine from CS...anyway mine does the same thing for a while but it all catches up in the end.
  5. I have poured several cases out of my new case of 464 bought from Peaks and other than the tops being a little rough (nothing the heat gun cant fix) the candles are fine.
  6. Where would i find this wick?? nevermind...found it.
  7. I searched and could not find anything...just alot of votive stuff... I am making dixie cup votives and poured the EL votive wax and wicked with a CD7...that is a total shot in the dark cause i have no idea what size wick to try... I wanna try self centering wicks...where to get them?? What would be a good size to start with on testing?? I also poured a few clamshells and solo cups to see how this wax will do for votives...since i cant afford KY's shipping to Oregon.
  8. did you try candle cocoon..their wicks are 12 inches long so thats like getting at least 2 wicks out of each one....just buy some wick tabs too. i use the CDN 12 in the 9oz hex jar
  9. I have found the CDN's to do much better in the palm than the CD's
  10. I usually dont use one either...just did it this time for the testers
  11. OK my candles are fine.... lot number A 12/19/10 03:06:57 924 I poured them at 150 and they are uncolored. I left them in the shop overnight and they are fine...tops a little rough but nothing the heat gun cant fix. With no heat in the shop they DIDNT even frost! Mine came from Peaks
  12. please post the lot number on your box...i am headed to the shop and i will see how my candles are doing that i poured yesterday...i will pos the lot number then...i am gonna test eco soya i think.
  13. OK now i am sick to my stomach....what is your 464 doing??
  14. I dont make tarts out of my 464....I will know what my candles look like tomorrow...my workshop is in town.
  15. my box is dated 12/19/2009 and is from Peaks...just poured 2 testers at 150 degrees.
  16. Well isnt this just wonderful...i have a brand new case of 464...opening it today...who knows what i will find. I did notice back in the Fall last year that the 464 i bought was WAY different than when i was messing with it 2+ years ago. I got rough tops and holes by the wicks no matter what temp i poured. I was hoping the new box would be better....thanks for the heads up!!
  17. I can order either one and pick it up...so i have a choice of which i wanna use. I dont know how you could tell if it was not marked.
  18. Thanks cyberstix...I will be testing both waxes I think.
  19. OK thanks you all....I thought the C3 Nature wax was the one you all use...I am gonna order 10lbs of both to test. Now to research USA or coconut oil....
  20. OK i tried the search it didnt work...anyway i found Nature Wax C1 and C3 close to me. I can go pick it up...BUT have to test as it would be a new wax to me....anyway Stella is this C3 the same you use?? What is the difference between C1 and C3 Anyone else use either of these waxes??
  21. TY Stella....I will try it and see....moving into the workshop this week so next week testing begins....yay:(
  22. I think I have some CSN 14's....I used CSN 11's in the hex jars....with success.
