  1. I would take them a new wholesale packet. Price list, scent list, etc. I would also take in about 12 of your scents, so they can see the new candle and smell the scents. I would take 6 holiday scents and 6 of your best sellers. If they are hesitant, because of the switch to soy, I would leave them one of the jars to sample. You'll hook em'. I would never worry about change in your company. I'm sure you only change for the better. And, what's better for you is better for them. JMO
  2. soapimpressions.com I had one made from here along time ago and they did an excellent job for me. Good Luck
  3. Sorry, I didn't get back with you sooner. That is what the t-shirt bag holder looks like. I like it, because it holds the bag up, so you can put the items in the bag. You can get them from any store supplies store, but I found a deal on ebay and went with it. I tried to search on ebay and didn't see any either. Good Luck
  4. I bought one from ebay. It's a t-shirt bag holder. I used to secure it with bungies to my wood display that I use for a checkout, but now I just have it sit on top of a 3 drawer plastic unit that I take that carries all of my supplies in.
  5. She has everything she needs to sell my candles. She approached me on being active in selling my products for me. This is her first and only sales rep job. We've been otgether for just over a year. I'm not so worried about a quota they have to get to achieve more. I'm worried about, if they don't sell for a period of time, are they still active? I was thinking if they do not get at least 2 new or reorders per month for 2 consecutive months, then they are considered inactive. To become active, they must achieve 2 new/reorders for 2 months. Then, I have to get into what happens if they just get 1 order per month and so on. That's why I was thinking if somebody had an idea, if this is something that is any contract that they have seen? I do a straight 15% for this rep. I may change it a bit for new reps. Maybe first 3 new stores/10%, the next 3 stores/12%, then any after that/all is 15%. I don't want to get into getting freebies for achieving so much in sales, I would rather give them gifts when I feel they are doing a great job, even if they didn't hit the sales quota. Thanks Tracy
  6. You're welcome!! There are quite a few good contracts and letters there, that I find that I can use or may need to use.
  7. http://www.ilrg.com/forms/#ventures I found a pretty good sales rep contract to build on and a non compete contract. They have lots of contracts, for many different business and personal ventures. Hope This Helps. Tracy
  8. I have a sales rep, my first and only. She hasn't had any new clients in 3 months. She has had a reorder in this time period, though. She hasn't kept in contact with me in the 3 months, also. So my question is, what type of quota do you require your reps to have? And, if they do not meet them, what are the consequences? I feel that if she is not going to stay in touch, or attempt to pick up new clients, then she is inactive and shouldn't continue to receive commission on reorders. What does everyone else think? thanks for the help Tracy
  9. They are not discontinuing it. I have had a situation arise twice and did not agree with the way they handled it. I do not want to put them down as a bad supplier. Their oils are great and up until these last two costly situations, their customer service has been good. I had to make a business decision to discontinue them as a supplier. Cranberry Orange Spice is the only oil I get from them that I would totally need to find a replacement for.
  10. Does anyone use an oil that is an exact match to Snowtops Cranberry Orange Spice? I use soy wax and I am looking for a replacement for this oil. Any help is soooo appreciated. Thanks Tracy
  11. Packo has great prices and offers free shipping. www.packcoinc.com
  12. I just recenty added a new company name also. What I did was this. For my customers that order wholesale, I make their orders with the new name. For my festivals and my store I am using up the old style lids and labels that have my 1st company name on them. I also have signs displayed that state what is happening. I think that if your customers are able to see the same product with both names on them, they will be able to remember or associate your product with your new name. I am the type to not waste anything, if I can avoid it.
  13. Is anyone else having a problem with the container labels from WSP sticking? I have used their labels, for as long as I can remember, and I am using the same jar, but it seems that these darn labels just don't want to stay on!! They may go on at first, but then decide when they're good and ready that they don't want to be there anymore and off they go!! It's starting to get on my nerves, so I thought I would see if I was alone in this situation. Thanks
  14. I use Coffee Beans. And if you ever forget the coffee beans, have the customer just sniff the sleeve of their shirt. That cleanses their sniffer, also.
  15. Just my 2 cents. If you sell them to her for $10.00 and you are making $5.00 profit from the deal, that is pretty much wholesale pricing. She will be making $10.00 from a sale, which is twice what you are making, but that is how the whole wholesaling gig works. The retailer makes more than the manufacturer (because we, as wholesalers, are selling in quantities). I believe this is what I read in your first post. Also, consignment, is a tough decision. Here's what can and probably will happen. Your items will sit on the shelf and if not taken care of properly will collect dust. (First hand knowledge) If something gets messed up, she most likely will not bring it to your attention. Therefore, this may deter sales. And, if for some reason you have a disagreement or a situation arise, you have to go and pack up your stuff. She is not putting anything at risk, but making all of the profit. If you are still thinking of doing this, I suggest a 25% consignment. That is my rule of thumb. If they want 50%, they need to purchase wholesale and take the risk of the items not selling. You could put it to her like this. You will do consignment at 25%, and if she (the gas station lady) decides that they are selling well enough to purchase wholesale, that's where the 50% comes in. You can then sell to her outright. Consignments, have always been a big pain in the butt for me. Others may have some glory stories here, but I know there have been some horror stories. HTH Tracy
  16. I personally do not do contracts. That's just me. But if you do not want her to remove your information, then you should have one. I do have a minimum in place for $ amount and full cases. As far as your price. If you are selling it retail for $4.00, then wholesale should be $2.00. Which would mean that it cost you $1.00 to make. If this is incorrect as far as how much it cost you to make, you need to either raise the wholesale/retail price or just accept the smaller profit per item. As far as the 3/$10.00, that's just your retail deal, it doesn't come into play with your wholesale/retail price. HTH
  17. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Did I say THANK YOU, yet? I had to do it a little different, but I think it worked. I have to wait and see when she emails me back. I right clicked and dragged the font to the desktop, but there was nothing the said COPY HERE, but it did ask me if I was sure I wanted to do that and I said yes. Which took the font from the windows font folder an moved it to the desktop. So, when I moved it back, a copy stayed on the desktop and I put it in the email. So, I had to take a detour, but ended at the same place. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Tracy
  18. Hi guys I am not a computer person and I need a little help. I use the fonts Clowningway and Campbell for all of my labels, brochures, etc. and I would like for it to be on my site, but my webmaster does not have this font. I have tried going into my font folder and emailing it to her, but I do not know how to do it. It's not an easy copy/paste type of thing. Is it possible for anyone here to help me figure this out. . . . OR. . . . if they have these fonts to email it to her for me????? PRETTY PLEASE!!!!!!!!! Thank You-More Than You know.
  19. Here's what you can do. You can either go to your City Clerks office and register locally as a DBA (Doing Business As) Or Go to your state site (Mine is www.Mich.gov) and you should be able to find out how you register with the state. You can do a Corp, LLC, or just an assumed name (which is like a DBA) and more. It will be registered with the state. Here's what I found out for you. http://www.nj.gov/njbgs/ You should be able to click on the link and it take you directly to where you need to go. If it doesn't, go to www.nj.gov and click on the drop down box-Online Services at the top left and go to Business Services. Here you will be able to check if your name is available and register it with your state. I didn't check, but it should only be about $25.00-$50.00, depending on if you become an LLC or not. Hope this helps Tracy
  20. I have oils that are 3 years old and still going strong. I made some grapefruit candles about 2 weeks ago and when I went to wrap them, I could not smell them at all!! I usually take a whiff of the FO in the bottle before I pour (just in case), and apparently I didn't for these. I went back and smelled the FO, and it had no smell to it whatsoever. It was Grapefruit Special from BCN (Special means that it was a clearance FO-so who know how old it actually is). I purchased the oil at the beginning of 2004, so to me it was only 2 years old. I had 2 bottles and neither had any scent to them. I even had a pink grapefruit from BCN, and IT didn't have a smell either. I purchased a replacement from NG (Ruby Red GRapefruit) and IT IS kickin'!! Just a little story to share.
  21. Try Royal Aromatics. I do not believe you have to purchase 25#'s, only 5#'s. RoyalAromatics.com HTH
  22. I placed my order yesterday, received it today. And . . . . they sent me a mouse pad. It's pretty neat, it has their information on it. Thumbs Up to NG!!!
  23. I hear ya!! It's always going to be something. I was thinking about this last night. I am the manufacturer, so in all of the profit being made here, I am making the least per candle. After I pay all of the overhead, supplies & inventory, advertising, Sales Rep Commissions-(Even the Sales Rep makes more than I do ) If I don't charge for shipping & delivery (cost of gas $2.80/gal) , I am going to be nickel & dimed to death. I know, the store doesn't have to buy from me. But come on, they are making the most profit from the candle, they can pay for their own shipping or delivery. Nobody gave me free shipping on the pallets of jars I just ordered, nope not even a 6% allowance. HEck, if all of my suppliers gave me free shipping, I think I just might pass on the good nature to my clients and ship to them for free. I'm sorry, just frustrated at some of the clients that I have.
  24. Does anyone know how ROOT handles their shipping? Do you have a wholesale catalog that you can look at and send me the jist of what they do for shipping. The stores that I wholesale to want the benefits of free shipping like the big candlemakers offer, but I think they might change their tune if I started saying "Okay, I'll give you what the big dogs do, FREE shipping with an opening order of $3000.00. (Yankee) Thanks Tracy
