  1. Thanks Donita that is a great idea. I've been spending so much money on candle making, but I keep seeing things that I want to try. Someone said they bought wax from Candlewic on sale, do you think after the holidays they might have this wax on sale???
  2. I guess the answer to this is No? Noone has responded. I know a lot of people order from Candlewic - is it worth spending the money on shipping for their wax?
  3. Candle making is very addicting!!!! I think I will be going back to work after Thanksgiving so I need to get a jump on my learning curve.
  4. Thanks to all of you - now I just need to be able to do it again and start making ones with different colors.
  5. I'm confused :undecided, so are you saying not to poke relief holes just do a repour? Please explain
  6. Hi All - I wanted to buy some wax from Candlewic to try the crystallizing palm wax and when I got to the shipping part the charges doubled what I was buying. Needless to say, I did not order the wax. I'm wondering if there is a company that has the same wax which would be closer to California?
  7. I ordered 1 oz from this site, I guess they are going out of business. Here is he link http://issaquahcandleandsupply.com/
  8. hahahaha I liked how it looked and that was the look I was going for
  9. Was it suppose to have mottling too?
  10. so 1 ounce will last quite a while?
  11. I'm a little confused. If I buy 1 oz of liquid dye - how much is that? Will that last very long? I feel kind of dumb for asking this, but I don't know how I'll know if I don't ask. Thanks.
  12. OKAY - I think I got it to work now - can you please try again!!!
  13. I've attached a link - can you please let me know if you can see this?
  14. I attached my picture and uploaded it but I don't see it. Can anyone help me with this? I tried to upload again and it said the size was too big (how do I make the size smaller)?
  15. Hi All - here is my first rustic that turned out. I made one with a water bath and it looked mottled but not rustic. I think this one looks good but would like your opinion. I now need to move on and do ones with multiple colors. Thanks for all your help with my questions. This site has helped me tremendously. See if you can see this picture from this link. https://webfiles.uci.edu/jnagaoka/candles/DSC00499.JPG?uniq=-8xvmxf
  16. My rustic came out beautiful tonight. I did it without the water bath and it looks like I was hoping it would. Now on to more experimenting. This is so much fun. I've only been using one color so time to experimenting using more than one color. I will start doing that tomorrow. Thanks everyone for all your help.
  17. hahaha - it didn't work very well when I did the water bath.
  18. Thanks so much everyone for your input. I will follow what is the norm and not do a water bath either. I do wonder why the instructions on this site say to do a water bath? It does state that there are other ways to do a rustic, but I think it should reflect the norm of what people do?
  19. If I was buying exactly the same product online and I could get it from a company with free shipping then I would buy it from that company. I don't feel like candles fall into this as you can't get exactly the same ones from someone else. I hope what I'm saying makes sense.
  20. Did you put a spigot on it? I use a presto pot and my husband put a spigot on it to get the wax out, it is fabulous. It only holds 6 lbs of wax.
  21. I tried the water bath and it turned out okay but not great. I'm going to do another one without doing a water bath and see the difference.
  22. Is there a way to find out where the local craft fairs are in my area?
