  1. Keep us informed on your testing. Very interesting as I've switched to Premiers but still testing. GoldieMN
  2. Thank you, Lisajo! It is always interesting to hear what others think of the various fragrances. Also sad to see companies who have closed. Happy Holidays, GoldieMN
  3. I've been using Golden 415 for pint jars as well as tarts. I'd like to start votive testing using two-cavity votive clam shell molds but have read that I need a different soy wax. Candlescience recommends "starting out using EcoSoya PB"; possibly adding a little EcoSoya CB135. I'd like your opinion/suggestions for a votive soy wax. I need something that will pop out of the clam shell mold easily. GoldieMN
  4. I've used 415 since that is what I started with and used for all testing. Any reason to switch to 464? Someone on RE FB page said it is the #1 selling soy. Goldie
  5. I ordered samples from Wick It but am confused when I try to place a regular order. There are no prices and looks like I need to buy 3000 at a time. Someone mentioned buying from Aztec in another thread, but I see they recommend this wick for paraffin not soy which is what I'm needing them for. Is this the same wick? Or is there another company you buy from? Goldie
  6. Thanks. Looks like I need a few more samples. I just got some McIntosh from AH and have a few different cinnamons and vanillas so will do a little testing this weekend. Waiting for two weeks will be tough! Goldie
  7. I've tried a number of cinnamon oils from a few companies but can't seem to find something that knocks my socks off. Do you have a favorite or best seller? I'm at a point of mixing what I have to come up with something I like but prefer not to do this. I'm making pint jars of soy; mixture of two soys. GoldieMN
  8. Just getting back to making some soy candles and found a sample bag of Pure 500 Series wicks from WickIt. Wasn't sure why I had them so went to check their website and don't see them listed. For now, I'll try out the Premiers. But have any of you tried these? GoldieMN
  9. Thanks. I did notice while taking them out of the molds small pieces broke off here and there. I will use your trick the next time. Goldie
  10. First batch was 415. Second batch, PB and CB mixed half&half. Goldie
  11. Thanks. Somewhere along the way, it was recommended to use the 2 Ecos for soy tarts. Perhaps those recommending this, had not used the 415 and were just telling me what they used. Glad to know I can sell these! Goldie
  12. I can't believe I did this. Bought Eco CB & Eco PB to mix half/half for tarts, but I forgot I had bought them and made my tarts using 415 soy. Halfway done before I realized I didn't want to use the 415 for tarts. Now I can't remember why I didn't want to use the 415! Do you know? lol:confused: Goldie
  13. Yes, SE Minnesota. . .Winona.
  14. Have you tried YL oils?
  15. Hmmm, I use organic coconut oil similar to what you suggested I'm guessing. I'll have to research the fractionated. Thanks! Goldie
  16. Not trying to argue with you about the price as they definitely are more expensive. The difference is Young Living is therapeutic-grade and can be taken internally. Most EOs cannot. I use the oils on a daily basis and have saved me and my family TONS of money so are well worth it.
  17. Do you know if they are Young Living oils? Goldie
  18. The place I would sell them has customers with EO on hand as they use them in their daily lives. Goldie
  19. I was only going to use the 415 since I have that on hand for votives/jars. I will order both PB and Excel for the tarts. For now, I may pour soy tarts with no FO or EO. Customer can melt the tart then add their own EO. Goldie
  20. Wow, I'm so glad I asked, as I would have not mixed the PB with any other soy. One of these days, I will be able to answer questions instead of always asking. Goldie
  21. I'm a Young Living distributor and want to use their oils. The store I'm in is adding products like room spray made with these oils.
  22. I want to make 100% soy tarts. Going to order Ecosoya Pillar Blend as suggested by some on this forum. Do I mix this with my 415? Or just use the PB. Also, do I go with the same formula of l lb. to 1 ounce of FO? Finally, if I use EOs, do I use less oil? Goldie
  23. Whew! Thanks. I've been worried about this. Don't want to sell something and have a house burn down. Goldie
