  1. Thanks Becky, that's close to what I'm looking for....they had a 10 oz Monticiano tumbler that I think is pretty much the same as what I'm looking for....thanks for the link! Any more links out there? Thanks again
  2. So I've been to a dozen or so sites looking for Frosted Tumblers, preferably 11 oz ones and have only found a couple of places. I know Candlewic has them. Where you do get yours? Thanks in advance, Chris
  3. We could make this very simple.......if you say the supplier should not read the boards and post in their defense when they are being criticized, then maybe we should not be allowed to post criticism. I would understand if I posted negatively about a supplier and they came on and bashed me, but BCN was professional in what they had to say. I run a clothing store and I lose sales when my best item is out of stock....I either try to sell them something else, get they number and call them when it comes in and maybe offer a discount, or lose the sale. It stinks to lose the sale, but it happens. So the company is low or out of a product...guess what, there was a problem at the factory with dye lots or material...or sorry guys but the shipment is stuck in customs.....or it's been sent but we can't find it. It happens, it's part of business and it is up to each individual company to make and enforce rules as they see fit. Sometimes my customers are out of luck if I run out....we run sales at times to clear out merchandise that we are overstocked on or want to get rid of...no raincheck cause it won't come back in....that's the nature of a business. It's not like we are buying a .50 can of beans at a grocery store, it's an expensive product for them and us. just my 2 cents......all should be able to read and post....and kudos to the suppliers that read the boards and know their business, their customers, and their product. Chris
  4. I'm still testing my candles....hard to do too much with working 2 jobs....but I never thought I'd get so excited with a $10 tart sale.....lady at the mall I work at orders $10 of tarts every couple of months...I do the happy dance for that....can't imagine selling more than that right now....hope to be ready someday though!
  5. your website looks awesome....I agree with the black and white theme on the displays, it's great. The only thing I saw that you may want to fix is the pictures that you've used for the flower pot votives.....your wicks are waaayyyy off center. That may deter some of the more candle savy customers from buying those...I would be hesitant myself. That being said, you should be proud of your site....good luck! Chris
  6. Hi JMT. Your candle business is your candle business...which makes your website your website. If they don't want any of your contact info on the candles, then maybe consider not consignment, but having them buy the candles from you wholesale and maybe they'll pay a small fee to make custom labels...kind of a private label account. That way people that buy from them will only know to go to them for that candle. Any one that happens upon your website or goes because of word of mouth from friends, family, and from a candle they bought from you is your sale down to the penny! No one else should get credit for your sales other than you. Best of luck to you! Chris
  7. I'm guessing they are sold as a 3 pack..... if she's dipped them stacked and held together with a rubberband, they are going to stick together once they are dry and the rubber band has been removed....thus probably selling the 3 packs together!
  8. I'm with candleman on this one. Neither my wife or myself found the terms and shipping to be funny. To me as a consumer it was a turn off. As rude and sarcastic as it sounded, I would question the integrity of the product, the company, and would not trust you as a salesperson. Not trying to be rude back by any means....in my full time job I would lose customers and my job if I were to be like that to customers...."I sell, you buy, want to return?..read the receipt...if you can't read, have someone else read it for you....return after 30 days?...should have learned to read, it's on the receipt!" To people that know you in RL it's probably hillarious, as a consumer and business manager I would pass on your site no matter how awesome your product or prices were. My 2 cents....take care, Chris
  9. I found a way to clean them in which I don't get bloody candles. hmmm, using blood for red coloring in soy candles....now I can market 100 natural! hehe...wrong thread. So yeah, I wrap a sock around a screwdriver or something of the sort, put some mold cleaner on it and go to town. The sock ends up being a little bigger than the mold, so when you squish it in, it cleans really good. Other than that, when I clean molds now I wear latext type gloves...I'm able to feel the sharpness first on the glove before it gets me and I can let up the pressure. Thanks Top and Henry!
  10. thanks for the responses everyone...I must be a wierd one...for some reason I like the seamed flat top. Maybe it's because that was the first mold I used....anyway, thanks again for the voting and for the feedback! Chris
  11. I'm just curious why one prefers the concave top pillar molds versus the flat top pillar molds. I have one of each and like the flat top mold, however I notice most of the pics on here are concave candles. Thanks, Chris
  12. Go to walmart and get a heat gun....the blow dryer blows a lot of air, whereas the heat gun sends out a lot of heat.....no comparison how the heat gun works....I once used the hair dryer and believe me, you'll wonder how you survived without the heat gun once you have it!
  13. For what it's worth.....many people have made pillar candles using the 1/2 gallon and smaller milk cartons. If memory serves me correct, the Candlewic company originally started out years and years ago making candles in milk cartons. If you go to a book store and check out a book on candle making, you'll see directions for making milk carton candles or even making your own mold using cardboard....definitely not for a company, but for the home enthusiast who is just making them for fun or decoration. Just my 2 cents. C
  14. I have a melon ball mold that I used once and put it away....the balls are so difficult to get out of the little hole....my forearms and hands hurt after fighting with that mold for so long...and the mold started to split in a couple of places...would love to know what the secret it....just don't have the patience to try again. Chris
  15. My sister can not burn paraffin candles. She can burn soy candles and beeswax candles...and there are only a handful of fragrances that she can tolerate. She has pretty severe allergies as well as other people that I know that can only do soy or beeswax. My sister can't burn paraffin whether scented or not...can't even use any lotions or anything that has petroleum or petrolatum in it. So I do believe that people can be allergic to paraffin. And with her sensitivity, I would also argue that one can be allergic to any number of the ingredients that go into the FO. Just my 2 cents
  16. Cool, it's fun finding good deals like that. I think I'm going to sell off what I have left however...so if anyone wants them? hehe....:tiptoe:
  17. Hi Beth, I'm not sure about the GB 435 since I haven't tried it. I do like the pricing and the shipping on the KY and so far I am loving the wax in comparision to the others I've tried. I ordered a 3lb sample and I'm pretty positive I'm going to have to order more....so much I want to try and test with it now!

  19. When I did some, I poured the uncolored wax into the container first, then slightly stirred in some color.
  20. I don't have to double wick the 8 oz...but the 16oz I did....don't let it scare you, it'll work out, you just have to wick down I believe. I'm sure someone who double wicks more than I have will chime in. C
  21. Thank you Meridith and AngelaVa....I popped the 104 back in.....I'll try what you suggested if I just can't stand the 104. What do you think about maybe adding a lower melt point soy to the 125 to improve the 93? probably more trouble than it's worth Thanks again!
  22. So I finally found a wax that I love so far....KY125. However I have a wicking problem. HTP 104 gave awesome throw with Amish Harvest...however it developed a melt pool in 2 hours in my jelly jar instead of 3, and mushroomed badly. I dropped to a HTP 93, great first burn..even, no mushroom, perfect melt pool, perfect flame. However, consequent burns with the 93 produce weak flames, weak throw, and not a complete melt pool. Wondering if I should have used the 104 for more than one burn? Does anyone know a wick that would burn slightly hotter than the 93, but slightly less than the 104? Thank you! Chris
  23. Hey Geek, I haven't tried the parasoy yet, however I'm thinking about it. I just starting testing the ky125 and let me tell you it's a completely different world than the "other" 125 I was trying. I think I'm in love! If I can't knock out a pur soy or soy natural blend, I may have to give the parasoy a shot. Chris
