  1. I'm in love with my jewelry thread cutter majobbie. LOL...I just starting beading, so who the heck knows the technical term.
  2. The only time I smelled one of their fo's was in some dough ornaments..and it was delish. Cinnamon. Sorry but that's all the info I have.
  3. I myself LIKE ...No LOVE jump lines. I can't stand it when I get too many bubbles though. I love it!
  4. That's kind of what I was thinking too.
  5. I like my buttered rum sweeter than some I've rec'd. I really like thecandlemakerstore's
  6. I usually hot glue them down because I can't find my stickers. When I first started I didn't use them & the wicks would fall over sometimes when the MIL would power burn her candles. There still isn't any way of preventing that though.
  7. Okay, now who has extras of those two they can spare?
  8. I'm confused...are we talking about actually sticking the wick to the jar? Or are we just talking about it have a wick tab? Don't you find that most jar candles from the store aren't secured to the bottom of the jar? Reminds me...I need to go and buy some wick stickers...I keep buying and forget where the heck I put them. Maybe I should just use silicone.
  9. I would love to have relatives that would work shows for me! I'm looking at doing a show 1.5 hours away on Friday/Saturday...then do I also schedule myself one on Sunday? am I nuts?
  10. I wouldn't think its infringing...we can order gift baskets with all that stuff in it. There's even wholesalers out there that you can drop ship from. Now making your own treats...do you have to be licensed for that? I mean does someone need to come in and inspect your kitchen, etc? I was thinking of doing some coffee treats inside a big coffee mug....but I can't find mugs really big enough. I could make them up with a lip balm, bath melt, maybe a lotion bar, but candles don't really fit in there.
  11. Okay, those brylane homes shelves are AWESOME...but they're all on backorder..January 1...I'm snatching some of those!
  12. Does everyone prop one open so they can smell it? I'm debating..do I get a little countertop swingy majigger...or do I set them up in baskets around the candles that are also fragranced the same way. hmmm, decisions, decisions....
  13. I do love love love these little clamshells from the coop. I'm ready to order more. So soy is a good one...hmm, mental note. New year I'm adding soy
  14. Sugar & Spice...and everything nice... Okay, so I have a small line of candles that I'm going to do in one fragrance, simply sugary fragrances. Preferably kept white also. Any thoughts on a super duper fo that throws like crazy in J223? I don't want to do it in creme brulee (which I could bathe myself in)...but what's good? Is Sweet & Creamy from KY? Or how about Sugar Milk from Indiana CS.... anyone?
  15. Okay, so I pour and pour...and pour! These things are very cool. BUT, mine don't pop out very easily. Does everyone elses? I'm using a pillar/j223 combo. I do need a fun name for the label though. Any ideas?
  16. I think I'll pour my tarts & tins at the same time...that'll work. Then someone can tell what these clamshells smell like.
  17. I'm about ready to pour 120 of 16oz tins... Do you find it really matters if you color the wax? Granted it will help me remember which is which when I go back to label them all, but do you think it affects your sales on candles if they're not a glass container?
  18. and here I was really thinking that was an airbrushed pattern. Each candle is identical, aren't they? go Bruce go!!
  19. Ahh yes, FREE PRESS...good one. Can't forget that. thanks!
  20. Its funny, we get three free newspapers a week delivered to our home. The circulation on these is 3-4k homes. I do feel like there's money in the area that we moved into. Many lake homes, etc. There's area articles in each of the papers, along with some of the best organization in ads that I've seen. I'll call and inquire on it. I may ecen consider doing it for an open house, but do it in my Tin Shed...light it up with Christmas lights, etc.
  21. I use lx wicks, usually an lx16 or and lx18. I triple wick my 16oz tins. i've also gotten great through with the mottling container wax with the tins.
  22. I've contemplated this for sometime and I'm wondering how it goes for anyone (if you do it) One idea - Placing a small coupon ad in the area's free newspaper that offers so much off at so and so craft show from your own booth. Or stop in and get your free gift kind of thing. If I'm investing $200 on a booth space, could this help? 2nd idea - I'm new to an area and would love to schedule some home parties for this holiday season. What about putting an ad in the area's free papers to have people schedule their holiday season parties. Get your friends together, be merry & shop in comfort....blah blah blah. ( I almost think this idea would generate $$ equal to doing shows, don't you think? Or how about nooner parties in doctor offices..etc.etc) Any one's feelings on this or experiences?
