  1. Can you describe JS's new Butter Cream frosting? Any idea if it is similar to BG's??
  2. I also used 100's of them....when I first started doing the electric candles. Many times the on/off switch gets jammed. They were of better quality 2 years ago. They just seem a bit junky to me. If you compare them to other sockets you can see the difference. I can get these from Darice for 1.15, I choose to use a different socket, that costs .50 more. Just a personal preference. PSPjen-I have had my C&S Harvest Spice electric lit for 30+ hours and no melting.
  3. She's not using a mold that will work with those sockets. I don't like the Darice sockets, they are not reliable.
  4. I realized I gave you the link to the wrong socket.....check this one, it is B. http://www.nationalartcraft.com/subcategory.asp?gid=1&cid=1&scid=23 I don't use C&S's mold...I don't like the shape of it...but I think their molds have the plugs...and you use the socket that has the clear ring that locks into the bottom? I don't use their wax either....but the 141 would be much better than what you are using now! I don't know why they would sell you a votive wax for electric candles.??
  5. You definitely need a higher melt point wax! Go here for the sockets.... http://www.nationalartcraft.com/subcategory.asp?gid=1&cid=1&scid=22 I hope its not that fo....I just made two....one is an order...with Harvest from C&S. I lit the other one. I will get back to you if it starts to melt. I use a 141 mp wax and 5 watt bulb so I don't think it will happen, but you can never be too careful.:DI have never had one melt with a 5 watt bulb.
  6. Congratulations on the proposition, How about clear boxes? http://www.uline.com/ Type vinyl box in the search. http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_5620.asp http://www.uline.com/Group_97.asp I recently purchased 1000 propylene bags from them....I got them the next day. And you can get samples first.
  7. WOW...that is a great idea! Thanks so much for posting this! :highfive: I would have never known of these.....since I don't have a dog.
  8. Congratulations on getting through it and doing well. I wish I could see the picture.....the imageshack page seems to hangup.
  9. What type of wicks are you using and how did you decide to use them if you did not know that size was important? Did you buy a kit? Or did a supplier suggest a size for you to use??
  10. Great instructions! Thanks for posting that!
  11. Glad to hear that! I just got that in and OOB it smells really promising. I am happily surprised, as I usually don't have much luck with NG.
  12. Sunwashed Linen from Candle Science is really nice in soy! It's a sunny bright clean scent.
  13. Lynn, I love your website!!!! Great layout and backround!!!
  14. Have you tried FOH's Spiced Pumpkin? It works great in soy.
  15. I poured Honey Gingerbread and Backwood Blue at 8% in 85%soy15%para, I got a great throw with both. I let them cure 3 days. I poured the Yummy Pumpkin today at 8%, I hope I get good results! It's really a great scent....if it doesn't work in a candle, it will make a great melt!
  16. WSP has a great Sage & Citrus with no wicking problems on my end.
  17. Maybe you should pour wax in one and weigh it.
  18. That is an interesting way to do that! I'm gonna give it a try. Thanks for the information. :highfive:
  19. Very nice, I think it's great you went the extra step and had the labels done professionally. I bet they look better in person, than they do in the picture.
  20. I used to wick my soy with a cd10...with my latest lot of soy I use a cd12 mainly. Wicks also differ from supplier to supplier....so your cd10, may burn like another suppliers cd12. It is important to stick with one supplier on your wicks. Soy changes batch to batch....which is why it is a good idea to purchase as many cases pf the same batch as possible. That way you don't have to keep retesting your wicks. Back when I started, I used 51z and lx 16 in a 8oz jelly jar. But I like cd's the best. I don't like how fragile the lx wicks are, it is too easy for people to break them off when they are trying to trim them, in my opinion. From my past experience, these are similar....51z, cd10, lx16.
  21. I can't see the cakes in the pic very well, but what I see, they look cool. Why do you want to make them from dough?? Do you mean salt dough or something that would last??
  22. I would like them on my mantle!!!
