SparkysCandles
-I bought most of my scents in 2008*2009. I finally got my mother to go through my two boxes. She says there is over 50 bottles of FOs and it would just cost too much to send. I have 5 or 6 packs of wicks, liquid dyes, vybar and stearic. Is it worth my time to drive and get it? Scented
Just depends. Drive and go get them. If anything, isn't it worth seeing your mom? There's just no set expiration date on a fragrance. Some may last 6 mo. to a year and others may last 10, 15 years.
SparkysCandles
Yes it's worth it. LOL, I just don't have much time for a visit. Going this weekend. Quicj trip over the cascade mountains. They counted how many I had over there, over 50 bottle of FO, plus other stuff like wicks, dyes, molds, containers, so it's definitely worth the trip. I figured it out to be about $800 in supplies and only 100-150 in gas to get them. yay!
blacktieaffair
I agree 100% with Scented. I got a helluva deal on some closeout FO's from BCN 5 years ago and the last time I used some, in Feb, it was just as kick butt as it was the day I got it. But I've also bought some off of some classifieds before, where they said they were a year or so old, and they weren't worth the time it took me to pour it out of the bottle. All you can do is test and see. IwantItgreen
Hope this isn't a hi-jack, but how many out there transfer your FO from the plastic bottles(from the suppliers) into glass amber bottles? Not many suppliers ship in glass anymore, so that means buying the amber bottles elsewhere. Where's the cheapest for the amber glass? SparkysCandles
Well I figure it's worth the visit ( I HATE MY HOMETOWN) and the gamble to go over and get the stuff. At least I'm going now before snow sets in the Cascades. I haven't been home in 3 years, LOL. But some of my favorite FOs are over there. My most popular too. I am just so glad I am making candles n stuff again. I missed it.
