livelaughlovejs
Is it possible to put too much scent in the candle? If so what happens? any negative effects?
Camay
Oh yes, it is possible. The fragrance will start "weeping" out of the candle. Not pretty. And a waste of FO.Each type of wax has a limit to how much FO it will hold. This is usually posted on the suppliers web page, or you can go to the manufacturer's web page. rjdaines
Poor burn too, weak flame and smoking.
tlc
Another yes here and I have done it recently on some pillars that I made. All of what they said above happened. What a waste
HorseScentS
Also, it can distort the fragrance or add a funny smell, like wet cardboard or a burning waxy-fuel-something type smell.
ksranch
Like they said - absolutely Yes - there is a limit
blacktieaffair
Um I might not make candles but I've seen it happen........... that "too much FO that weeps/leaks/oozes out " ???? I've seen it catch on fire and the entire candle be on fire... and its was practically impossible to blow out, you couldn't pick it up, and we had to put a metal lid over the top to suffocate the flame. HorseScentS
According to something I read, I think it was on the Candle Cocoon website, too much FO can tie up your scent so you don't get as strong a scent throw. Maybe that only applies to her FOs, I don't know; I don't think I've experienced that myself.
