Noodle
I have no idea what the deal is with the larger batch being the problem. I made a small batch and it was just as bad. I have no idea if it was one of my recipes that had the problem. I honestly think this is not a good oil to soap- at least not for me. soycrazy
How did it seize on you? Did you try just using a whisk instead of a stickblender or soaping cool? Sometimes adding the fo to the oils before the lye water helps too. At least with florals it does
lovemylabs
We just had a request for Cocoa Butter in soap and was doing research when I came across this thread. We HP, so I think I'm gonna order and give it a shot. With Spring close by and Summer on the way, this would be a really nice scent to offer! Will let you know how it turns out. Oh...we've never ordered from SC before...any other suggestions that you love in soap? Edited March 8, 2012 by lovemylabs Spelling, and adding a line. lovemylabs
I'm goofy....I just read through this post again and realized SC was not really a good choice for Cocoa Butter FO. I'm glad I hadn't ordered it yet. I went to MMS and checked out the Chocolate Mousse. Sounds wonderful! Those that use it in CP, does it carry any type of "bakery" notes at all? I'm really wanting just a plain Cocoa Butter FO. Love MMS...pricey, but good!
powderblueboutique
It has a slightly sweeter note. It seems that the sweet note burned off in the process. You could give it a try and see what happens. I just love the smell of it! I blended it with spearmint, smells just divine I know, it seems everywhere is getting so pricey But, on a good note, their usage rate is up to .35 ppo, so a little goes a long way. hth
