HorseScentS
I've been pouring into the Libbey Elemental jars because they're on sale for 50% off every 2 or 3 weeks at Hobby Lobby, when they put all their glassware on 50% off: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/elemental-jar-212738/ I order cases of them from the Hobby Lobby cashier on sale days by filling out a form with the item # from the jar label. They have them in the Candle Making aisle of the Crafts section of the store. I get them for .70 cents a piece with no extra shipping charge. The neck diameter is 2.875 inches, so I used the inch/millimeter calculator to get a diameter of 73mm for the lid. Finally I found a 73mm silver lid at the Candle Maker's store: http://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/product/JCAPTUMSA/73mm-Silver-Matte-Finish-Tumbler-Lid-1---199-Lids-priced-per-lid.htmlI hope it will fit! I'll order a sample and see. Lone Star has the Elemental Jars with glass lids too: http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/CandleContainers_Libbey-Elemental-Jar-7.25oz.html

rjdaines
I do the same as you do, buy the jars at HL for 50% off. I'd love to hear if those lids fit, please let us know. Thanks :smiley2:I've been pouring into the Libbey Elemental jars because they're on sale for 50% off every 2 or 3 weeks at Hobby Lobby, when they put all their glassware on 50% off: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/elemental-jar-212738/ I order cases of them from the Hobby Lobby cashier on sale days by filling out a form with the item # from the jar label. HorseScentS
The flat glass lids look great, but they are so heavy!Yes, they're heavy to ship, but I could still get them for $1.00 apiece including shipping from Lone Star, if I calculated correctly. I'll have to double-check that. It looks like the plastic fitment under the glass lid uses up a lot of space in the jar, too.

They had a nice 12 or 13 oz tumbler in the Candle Making Crafts aisle last time I was there. And many other Libbey jars, too. HorseScentS
Wow! If I order $100.00 worth of lids from The Candlemaker's Store, I get to choose 1 pound of free FO. Has anybody tried the Cherrylicious?
ladysj
I'm anxious to know on these as well & some how keep missing the HL glass sales. Where are they usually listed on their ads? Edited December 23, 2011 by ladysj
HorseScentS
I've never seen a Hobby Lobby sale add, I've just been lucky when I go down there. And whenever I ask the clerks how often they have the 50% Off glasware sale, they always say it's every 2 or 3 weeks. But, I think we can register on the Hobby Lobby website to have sale notices and coupons emailed to us. http://www.hobbylobby.com/email_subscriptions/email_subscriptions.cfm?CFID=286784&CFTOKEN=7d80fa3c0397b3f8-61512014-F701-F88D-C4237301A34357A9 Edited December 23, 2011 by HorsescentS
rjdaines
There are the only jars I get from HL. The others I use and the 8 oz and 12 oz Libbey Status Jars which I get from Lonestar.

HorseScentS
Wow! I FINALLY found 73mm plastic lids too! I didn't think they came in this size: http://www.candlesandsupplies.net/Candle-Making/Lids-Caps-Covers/Plastic-Lids-per-100-73-75-fits-colored-tumblers
HorseScentS
The Libbey 8 oz HB tumbler is the same diameter as the Libbey Elemental jar: 2.875", so the silver lid should fit them too. I can get those tumblers from Lone Star for less than $1.00 each including shipping: http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/candlecontainers_libbey-tumbler-hb-rocks-8oz.htmlI like the Libbey 12 oz HB tumbler better, though. But as a beginner it's best for me to stick to smaller containers since I have so much testing to do.
ladysj
Is there any updates as to whether the lids you found will fit the jars & tumblers?
HorseScentS
Is there any updates as to whether the lids you found will fit the jars & tumblers?I'm sorry, I haven't ordered the lids yet to see if they fit the Libbey Elemental jar, because I got frustrated trying to wick that jar with 4627 wax. But, now I've had success wicking with an HTP 83, so I'm going to order one of these lids. Also, I was just playing around and discovered that the lids for the 8 oz jelly jar fit the Libbey Elemental perfectly. So, I'm thinking there might be a creative way to make the inner disk of the jj lid stay on top of the Libbey Elemental, like with elastic ribbon, or by spray painting it and attaching metal rings to it. The jj lid rim is threaded, so it doesn't work, although it is a perfect fit, and if a strip of rubber was glued inside it might be a cute cap once it's painted. But, I'd rather order the lids from my original post and hope they fit perfect.

Camay
I just checked my stash, and I also have those 73-75 mm plastic lids from C & S. I can mail both to someone who has the jar.

I can mail both to someone who has the jar.I ordered about 60 of these jars from hobby lobby for testing and I orderd the 73-75mm from C&S they do not fit they are way to big. I called C&S and they had me send in my jar so that they can fit it, according to C&S the flower pot lids fit but when I got it it seemed a little big didnt have a snug fit..not sure how to make it work since the flower pot lid was the smallest

Yes, they hold the same amount as the 8 oz jelly jar too, I can fill exactly three jars with each pound of wax and FO mixture. I might try the Victory Blend parasoy in that jar with the HTP 62 wick. I'm doing white candles, not coloring them.
HorseScentS
The Candle Makers Store has changed the pages on their website since I first posted the link to the 73mm silver matte finish tumbler lid that I believe may fit the Libbey Elemental jar, so here's the link to the 73mm silver lid again: http://thecandlemakersstore.com/73mm-silver-matte-finish-tumbler-lid-1-199-lids-priced-per-lid.html Edited April 25, 2012 by HorsescentS
