EricofAZ
Remember that thread a while back where a newbie suggested putting ice in the wax? Some of us scoffed at it and suggested that this was top of the list of bad ideas.Well....http://www.candletech.com/techniques-and-ideas/ice-candles/

Scented
Guess I missed that thread. This is an old technique and there's a version out there that after you pour out the water and make sure the candle is dry, you pour in another color that will fill in the crevices. Pam W
Eric: We're talking about two different things here. If I remember correctly, in that other thread it was suggested to drop ice cubes into the wax after it was poured into the mold which would let water droplets spread throughout the candle making for a lousy if not impossible burn. When water gets into the wax, it will spit & sputter when it comes in contact with the wick. The method shown here is the proper way to make Ice Candles however, I prefer to put a core candle in the center and add the ice around it then do the overpour. When you burn a candle made like this, the wax is going to run out those holes and be rather messy. But you are welcome to try both methods to see which works for you. Noodle
I have never made a candle, but I know what I like. I do not care for the look of those at all.

Starr
I'd love to try doing an ice candle with a core. I made several attempts at doing one without and whereas it was a beautiful candle it never survived unmolding. I think I've just got too much of a bad taste in my mouth to start that whole mess from scratch again.
